Re: CD Projekt Red "Probably" Won't Port Cyberpunk 2077 To Nintendo Switch

@Big-Pepsi, i have not asked at any point for every game to be cell-shaded cartoon fest, but the list of games you mentioned are games that looked great at their time in some of the weakest hardware available.

Good art direction does not mean "force any computer built last month to run at 15fps" nor does it mean "make everything look like Wind Waker.

I know some games were built the way they were built (something I said from the start) I just expressed I wish more devs, from the start, made their games scalable. I am actually shocked CDPR ever considered doing the Witcher 3 scale down to Switch levels, I recall seeing a lot of comments from them not being happy with having to downscale to PS4/XBO levels to begin with.

I understand the desire to make an incredibly realistic graphical world, with all the latest graphic technics and bestest poly counts, but I wish more devs simply made fun scalable games.

Skyrim is an amazing game, but despite owning practically every version ever made (but the VR one) I only ever played the whole thing through when I got the switch version. It makes a huge difference being able to play on a bus, plane, bed, or basically anywhere.

I’m sure this story will repeat wirh Witcher III, another game I own in too many systems but never played far into.

Playing on a tv is fun, playing anywhere is best (and laptops don’t cut it.)

@RupeeClock I have this:
Satisfye - Accessories Bundle... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G3KB7RT

Not only does it have room to perfectly fit an Anker Pwercore 26800, it also fits a switch with the Satisfe Grip in place. It’s a bit big, but I would use to travel with a different (nowhere near as good ) grip on my backpack so the extra room was already being taken when I traveled.

Re: Bayonetta 3's Design Process Will Be Different To Past Titles, Says PlatinumGames' Inaba

@Medic_alert thing is: currently they don’t have control of any game they make, and I think that’s all this is about: control. Not platforms of choice, but what they would be able to do.

Right now, if you take the Nintendo investment away, it’s not certain going multi platform would cover the loss of investment, and that’s only on a hypothetical world where they could afford to develop the game. Remember: Bayonetta 1 didn’t do hot enough to keep SEGA in the picture.

This is not a Wii U situation, the Switch is ridiculously hot, hottest platform in Japan.

Re: Looks Like Final Fantasy VII On Switch Has Reintroduced A Bug That Was Patched Out Years Ago

@PixelTavern my guess as to why they port the old version:

They have a source control branch for each console but the core base game is the PC game. Each console has unique enough stuff going on that you are more likely to start a new port from the last PC version, and common console intricacies may mean this bug gets reproduced yet again ok the new console.

I’m curious if the Xbox version has the same thing going on, being a directx machine it may be easier to port from PC.

When will these people understand that this kind of project needs to be entirely in secret until it’s complete? Only reveal when you can dump the finished product on every corner of the internet, at a point where a C&D can’t stop it.

I think there been a couple like projects that actually did that, a remake of Metroid II and a completely fanfic Pokémon entry, If I recall correctly? Both sites were taken down, but those can still be found and downloaded if you search for them.

Re: Microsoft Asked The Studio Behind Cuphead To Bring The Game To Switch

Microsoft is not a “software company”, Microsoft is a platform company. Windows, Xbox, SQL, IIS, active directory, etc. it’s never been about the hardware, but the platform. What is the platform they trying to spread here? Xbox Live. Achievements, friend lists, multiplayer, those are things that are very important for Microsoft’s future, maybe more so than the Xbox itself (but the Xbox is still an essential hook-in of that platform.)

Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Be Concerned About Google's Play For Gamers?

I may be super wrong but I think whatever this is will end up being dead on the water.

If it’s a streaming device, it won’t be able to compete in many areas. Lag will always keep players on a disadvantage.

If it’s a dedicated console, it needs exclusive titles to really push any hardware, and as it is, Epic won’t even publish Fortnite on the play store.

Re: Looks Like The Daemon X Machina Demo Will Be Removed From The Switch eShop Next Week

I was curious about the game but drastically disappointed with the demo. I found visuals underwhelming, especially on the hangar, and the story elements (that I got to experience mid mission) felt like they were lost in the background. Team mates talking in the middle of fighting, barely noticed it was going on. Almost wish a box popped up with a portrait of the character talking and the dialog... but I never got a survey email... maybe because I never finished the demo... precisely due to how disappointing it was.

Maybe it's not for me, and that's ok, but the way the game been hyped, I was expecting a bit more of emphasis on the story delivery.
