I see the PS3 as more a case of overconfidence than risk, I think they expected people would flood to the Sony brand and blu ray, even with its price tag.
Sega where the best, no are the best, the Sega Ring Edge console is the best yet by far and Shenmue 3 is easily the game of the year, can't wait till Xmas to finally play Phantasy Star 5.
So this refers to DS development only, pity since I can't say I'm too interested in what Rare is making nowadays, and a new DS game from Rare is hardly something to get excited about IMO, other than VC releases which still looks as unlikely as ever I doubt I would be much interested in anything else from Rare.
Think I'll buy one of the pro controllers even though I have the classic version already, I take it importing a Japanese pro controller you would still be able to use it on a European wii.
All the good games seem to be getting released at the same time, for the holidays no doubt, but it is a bit annoying though, wish they where spread out a bit more.
Finally a DSIware game that actually sounds interesting and isn't another puzzle game, also Altered Beast is the same price as Majoras Mask, that's crazy.
And Sega continues its run of mediocre games, I remember when the Sega name actually made me look forward to the game, besides the sports/party type games have never really interested me that much anyway, if I ever feel I need a new party game I think I'll stick to the Rayman games.
Never played any of his games but was interested in D2 which looked like a Resident Evil type of game, it was supposed to be a launch titles on the Dreamcast, though it started out as an M2 game a console that was supposed to be a follow up to the 3DO I think.
Liked 1 & 2 on GC, not so keen on what has followed, hope this one isn't as bad as Blitz, I know some liked that game but I thought it was pretty awful, I'm skeptical about this game, hope I'm proven the wrong though.
I doubt the 5 year cycle will continue, nobody else is in a rush to splash out on new hardware development, Sega was the one that kick started a few console eras, without them jump starting things I predict longer lifetimes for the consoles.
One of the main reasons I'm looking so forward to this is the fact it has absolutely no multi player element at all, there are more than enough in fact too many FPS that concentrate too much on multi player and online, to get a FPS with all the effort put into the single player is a rare treat other than Metroid Prime I can't think of any other recent examples.
Looks kind of generic to me, but at least its something other than yet another puzzle game, DSIware badly needs variety, original or not I'd probably buy it anyway since I'm a fan of the genre.
Looks good, but why does Nintendo continue with the same old D-pad design, its terrible for SF type games, Sega had it sorted with the Megadrive and Saturn, so why can't Nintendo and Sony get it right now.

Re: Rage of the Gladiator - Sea Witch Trailer
Any particular genre Ghostfire games would like to work on in the future?
Re: Sokomania Coming to DSiWare
At 200 points it would be worth a try, 500 points though I'd most likely try Bomberman instead.
Re: Get Ready for Macho King's Story!
Can't wait, also 2 player would be interesting, might give it more replay value.
Re: Ryo Hazuki to Search for Sailors in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
Shenmue 1 & 2 would make great NPC games, I think the games would suit the wii, since it seems to be the place for unique games.
Re: Ryo Hazuki to Search for Sailors in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
A good move by Sega, I wonder does reviving this character mean they may revive Shenmue, I can dream can't I, in any case its good to see Ryo on wii.

Re: Review: Final Fantasy (Virtual Console / NES)
If I ever have a spare 500 points i think I'll give this game a go, hope they don't make it 600 points for Europe.
Re: Over a Third of Wii Games Go Unreviewed
Too much copycat shovelware, the reviewers would go mad if they had review all that, I'm sure it would have been similar for the PS2 as well though.
Re: Sony: We Take More Risks Than Nintendo
Natal vs wiimote copy, even Microsoft is taking more of a risk than Sony.
Re: Rare May Return to Nintendo Consoles
Rare would be no better off with Nintendo, it is not the company it was during the SNES/N64 eras, the exodus of staff changed it beyond recognition.
Re: It's Official: Nintendo is the Best
Sega where the best, no are the best, the Sega Ring Edge console is the best yet by far and Shenmue 3 is easily the game of the year, can't wait till Xmas to finally play Phantasy Star 5.
Re: Epic Mickey Is Exclusive To Wii
It looks very nice, but what is it?, can't wait to hear more about it.

Re: Nintendo vs R4: The Lawsuit and the Snitch
The incentive is to make sure those developers that make the games we like are paid and encouraged to continue working to entertain us.
Re: Vintage NES Game Up To $8.5K On eBay
Seems totally crazy to me, when you think of what you could buy instead.
Re: Check Out Some Jet Set Radio Wii Concept Art
Sega has clearly lost the plot .
Re: Classic Controller Pro Westward Bound!
Think I'll buy one of the pro controllers even though I have the classic version already, I take it importing a Japanese pro controller you would still be able to use it on a European wii.
Re: Red Steel 2 Devs "Have Beaten Waggle"
This will more than likely be my first wmp game, hope it delivers, I'm looking forward to it.

All the good games seem to be getting released at the same time, for the holidays no doubt, but it is a bit annoying though, wish they where spread out a bit more.
Re: Mario and Link to Warm Your Winter
Think I'll wait for some reviews on Mario, just want to be sure that its worth getting for single player mode, Zelda probably get that on day one.
Re: Wii System Update 4.2 Hits US
never bothered with homebrew to begin with, so updated right away
Re: Official: DSiWare Purchases Cannot Be Transferred to a New Console
Probably thought it would be too much hassle, having to transfer everything anytime somebody fancied a color change.
Re: Nintendo Download: Art, Beasts, Cars, Paddles and Wars (US)
Finally a DSIware game that actually sounds interesting and isn't another puzzle game, also Altered Beast is the same price as Majoras Mask, that's crazy.

Re: French Government Lobbied To Establish Retro Gaming Museum
Doesn't the UK have such a museum too? also wonder how they define retro, I mean is Dreamcast a retro console now.
Re: UK Wii Price Continues to Resemble Rat Up a Drainpipe
I guess that's what they mean by rip-off Britain, its always way more expensive than the US.
Re: New Wii Bundle to Hit British Shelves
Good move, though it makes the brief price increase even more stupid.
Re: Rage of the Gladiator to Support Wii MotionPlus
I don't have WMP either, still nice to know its an option for when I do get it though.
Re: Capcom Cordially Invites You To Decide The Next Versus Title
VS Sega of course.
Re: Square Enix Prez Stares Into Crystal Ball; Sees New Wii in 2011
I doubt the 5 year cycle will continue, nobody else is in a rush to splash out on new hardware development, Sega was the one that kick started a few console eras, without them jump starting things I predict longer lifetimes for the consoles.
Re: Power Up!
Can't open the rage of the Gladiator or Rayman posts, keep getting the Mario blue screen thing.
Re: Rage of the Gladiator - Naginata Trailer
Are skills carried over after finishing the game like a game+ mode type of thing, or does it reset?
Re: New Red Steel 2 Trailer

Re: Top 20 DSiWare Games in USA (17th Sept)
The top 20 DSIware list always looks boring as hell to me, at least they have some interesting games in development.
Re: Castle of Magic Trailer is Conjured Out of Thin Air
Looks kind of generic to me, but at least its something other than yet another puzzle game, DSIware badly needs variety, original or not I'd probably buy it anyway since I'm a fan of the genre.
Re: Nintendo of Europe Announces WiiWare and DSiWare Plans for the Rest of 2009
Even DSIware is getting a bit of variety, wont be rushing out to buy one anytime soon though, thankfully wiiware has a strong line up of games.
Re: Help People Get Their Wii Consoles Online, Get Free Games
I think I know 1 person with a wii who isn't connected, but they don't have broadband at all, looks like I wont be getting any free games then.
Re: Feature: Game Over: How Nintendo Zapped an American Industry
I got this book free with a video game magazine a few years ago.
Re: Flowerworks "Coming Soon" To WiiWare
Looks like a puzzle game to me looks pretty decent:

Re: Spaceball: Revolution Coming to NA on Monday
Looks interesting, although I already have a fair amount of puzzle games and didn't expect to buy any more, this one might change my mind.
Re: Impressions: Classic Controller Pro
Looks good, but why does Nintendo continue with the same old D-pad design, its terrible for SF type games, Sega had it sorted with the Megadrive and Saturn, so why can't Nintendo and Sony get it right now.
