Can't say I've been blown away by the service so far but still I got a few Zelda games on the go now; thank's in large part to the ambassador thing so not bad if a little slow to get to games I actually want it seems.
I thought they where all lacklustre with nintendo being the least worst, not a terrible E3 where a few good games shown but no real wow factor for me this year, pretty mediocre over all I'd say.
@3DSLUIGI Actually if you where to buy this expecting a lesser sonic blast game you'd most likely be disappointed; the fact you can't jump really lessons the gameplay a lot more than you might first think, probably be better trying to get in a collection if you have a PS2 as either mega collection or gems collection has it can't remember which; but if you found that cheap at least it would have a ton of other games to go with it.
Definitely the worst Sonic game I own or have played thankfully I skipped most of the 3D ones I'm sure some of those might actually be worse, in terms of spin offs I still like spinball personally but not really much else definitely not labyrinth.
MW4 displays in 50hz my enhanced definition TV connection wont even display the game though I hear the sound; so will have to dig out my old TV connector if I'm even to be able to play it, so no idea how good it is can't play the dang thing right now....
Good idea not sure nintendo is all that open to good ideas regarding how it runs its online side, making retail downloads the same price as actual retail summed that up quite clearly to me.
@MadAussieBloke Not sure about other classics but megadrive games work just as well on steam as they do on VC even with a similar save anywhere function plus the added ability of screen filter options, not as much variety as VC but given the choice I'd definitely go for the steam versions over VC.
£4.50 for a gamegear game while a megadrive game on steam costs £1.99 or 10 of them for £5.50 nintendo's pricing is crazy, still nice to see MW4 at last might wait to see if they release that on steam as well though as no doubt it'd be much cheaper.
@Retro_Hype you seem a bit upset at the mere thought of the game appearing on wii u I'm not sure anyone dare inform you it was actually about to come true and be released
Well that's nonsense to me at least, also what is this about retailers giving codes? I'm presuming you wont absolutely need to go to a retailer to get a downloadable 3DS retail game and can buy them the same as DSiware for example, otherwise that's just beyond nonsense.
Good to see nintendo giving the option, my only problem with it is you can buy retail games much cheaper later on, but nintendo's shopping channel and eshop prices seem to be set in stone no matter what so although I'd prefer it on download personally it'd probably pay to wait and get a physical copy instead, which doesn't really make sense to me since a digital copy is just software but oh well.
Also hope these can simply be bought on eshop without having to actually go to a retailer to get a code to participate, otherwise..... well that's just rubbish.
I have this on wii and never really got the fuss over it, controls wheren't all that great even felt broken in a few places, if they could get consistently good controls through out for the sequel then I'd maybe give it a try but it kinda ruined the first one for me.
I don't get this "your not forced to buy it" thing of course we aren't would be nice if we felt compelled to though like a Mario game used to make most of us feel, rather than looking at the game and thinking here we go again, yes its Mario and the track record of NSMB has shown it will hardly be a disaster but there was a time when a new Nario game really meant new.
Castle of illusion was probably the first game I ever beat way back on the master system, so a lot of nostalgia there, not really a huge fan of them adding other disney characters to it really other than that its looking good.
@bahooney mario games always good? I present super paper mario as my evidence to the contrary!!!
as for NSMB2 the first one on DS was fun enough but it was hardly a ground breaking title to say the least, so can understand some would be disappointed that this would be getting a sequel over a new 2D Mario altogether, nintendo must have sequelitis at the moment, not that Mario sequels are bad just not a fan of the more expansion pack nature of them rather than the more clearly different sequels of the past.
@Koto True but I think with the addition of SD cards they should have allowed for larger games, they didn't update wiiware at all which just seems like a missed opportunity really.
the 40 MB thing is ridiculous and compared to other download sites wiiware now looks unjustifiably expensive, some great games on the service but they really should have improved the service with time like allowing bigger games and maybe the odd sale too.
I hope in a 100 years after I slaughter you all at nl towers they mark the occasion by cashing in on the tragedy with tacky merchandise and nonsensical media related insanity too.
Hopefully my copy will arrive tomorrow actually sounds better than I first thought really liking the sound of the dark theme to it sounds pretty unique, still need to finish Last Story before I begin Pandora's Tower though.
@BlackFira I was never really interested in non turn based RPG's like secret of mana and the like but took a chance on xenoblade and was really surprised how much I liked it, its not exactly an action RPG its actually more turn based than action based which sounds a bit odd but makes sense when you start playing, you don't need to input each standard attack they happen automatically when you near an enemy; your main input is the special moves that once used need to refill the bar to be used again so its kinda turn based in real time as much of a contradiction as that sounds.
hadn't played my 3DS in months either I understand a lot of people are very happy with the 3DS game selection as it is but not everyone feels the same way, hadn't really used mine at all since December until Shinobi was released recently other than for the odd demo but mostly as an alarm clock.
good to see more gamegear games on the way though and shining force is always a welcome addition.
I don't see why liking another product as much or more than nintendo should bar you from reviewing nintendo games, besides surely we all know Sega is superior to all
also its not exactly a job its a voluntary position
disappointment is really the only word that comes to mind to describe the 3DS's first year in my experience with it, the only other machine I felt this disappointed by a year on was the original PSP and I eventually sold that the only ever games machine I got rid off, I have high hopes that Paper Mario will go a long way to changing how I feel about the 3DS but so far so meh as far as I'm concerned.
@Knuckles just 5 reviews and so soon, could be the developers themselves reviewing their own game it happens, I certainly wouldn't trust such a small number of eshop ratings so soon personally haven't played it myself but I'm going with nl's review on this one and avoiding it.
well I just emailed all my friends and family warning them not to buy this terrible game and urge you all to do the same, protect your loved ones from shovelware this xmas.
I liked the first Investigations game, though I got the impression most didn't, so quite surprised they'd make a sequel, pleasantly surprised though, just hope the final case doesn't drag on like last time, was the only complaint I had against the first game.
Console update, like a 64DD, only without the add on, but straight to full machine meaning you'd essentially have to buy a wii again to get it, is that what a wii 1.5 means? they could still release an add on for existing users I guess, but with multiple peripherals on wii, not to mention the recent multitude of DS variants not to mention 3DS on the way, then a successor to wii somewhere down the line, yet another machine in the mix sounds like spreading themselves too thin to me.

Pikmin 3 screen looks a lot better than I remember it looking from the trailer
Re: E3 2012: Nintendo Land to Show Off the GamePad
This part of the show really dragged on, such a disaoppinting way to close the show I thought.
Re: Talking Point: DS Games Deserve Digital Distribution on 3DS
Would love this to happen but if they go the full retail price route like they seem to want to do with 3DS then I'll skip it.

As long as it means more Mario RPG's then I'm fine with it, I mostly avoid the rest Wario's where its at.
