@RainbowGazelle yup - it was dreadful. 4 switches in my house and I have loved it but there was NOTHING in that direct that interested me.

4 regular Nintendo switches in my house - wife, 2 daughters and I all have one.

The last 2 hitman games are up there with the best games I have played. All about the replayability and working out how to kill the targets in the most clever ways.

Not into the cloud games though - have a series x - which is a sensational console - EVERYTHING plays faster and better on it - so getting it on that. Also it updates the previous 2 games to next gen apparently.

This has to have been one of the worst years for games I have known.

Not sure about this. Tin hat well and truly on but won’t the development for the switch potentially seriously hinder the final product on pc ?

Been a strange year. I thought this year was dreadful for the switch - understandable with the pandemic. I had to purchase an additional 2 switches though due to animal crossing - which means there are now 4 switches in my house.

So garbage year yet 2 additional consoles bought- as I said it’s been very strange

Eurogamer who I think are pretty good have given the game a recommended review- which means it’s more than decent.

I commented on metro who I like as well who gave it a 6 out of 10 - seems to be a fairly divisive game

Liked metro game central’s review comment - The best Dynasty Warriors style game ever made, which means it’s slightly north of mediocre, with simplistic combat, weak storytelling, and a whole lot of repetition.

That just about sums it up for me - you can call it star wars, marvel, Zelda - it’s still repetitive, monotonous gameplay

Planet coaster on game pass today - tremendous game - very impressed. My x series still to arrive. I don’t expect much of a gfx difference tbh - load times etc however will be significant improvement (I hope)

These games are being remastered therefore we do not know whether the switch can/cannot run them. Also it is highly likely they will be large gb games which provides challenges for switch. Think it’s reasonable them not coming to switch

Bought this in the recent sale. About 35 hours in - decent game but maybe slightly too long coupled with a slow burner to start.

@Dazzle don’t see how you can make that statement when avowed - their next big title - is Xbox/pc exclusive

I loved this game on pc - absolutely superb. It’s a must buy from me.

Was free on Xbox last December. Pretty average stuff in truth.

Switch is still selling like crazy and predictions are off the scale again for this Christmas.

Nintendo have to be careful here - there is a huge installed user base that continues to grow at an incredible rate - you don’t want to alienate them going forward

Love Nintendo, love the switch but there is no excuse for this.

@Richnj I played it on Xbox one x in 4K - it runs very well but ultimately the gfx are average at best and as such I don’t think the switch port will take that big a hit.

It’s going to be amazing on switch - the style of the game I think is perfect for the console. Yes there is action, guns etc - but a lot of the time it is a role playing game in the truest sense - talking, influencing, making decisions etc.

Some of the decisions are quite thought provoking as well - the first big one I procrastinated for about a day balancing up what I thought was the best way forward - it’s that well done

As an aside the Xbox one x is an incredible console. Having been a pc gamer for some time to get this power at this price is unbelievable

The more I play this the more I think how this is a perfect switch game. It’s a true classic RPG - combat is clearly part of it but there is so much more with strong emphasis on the dialogue and story.

It’s going to be amazing playing this handheld.

Think the sequel could be a big system seller for Xbox as well - reckon they will back obsidian big time on it

Playing on Xbox one x. Gfx are mediocre at best - some of the stuff on the x in 4K is amazing but this isn’t anywhere near that quality.

A console cannot have too many good games irrespective of age. The switch is a great console due to the hybrid nature - the experience of playing these ports handheld Significantly enhances the experience for many - great times.

I play Xbox one x on a 4K tv - it’s unbelievable - incredible gaming experience. Gfx, frame rate are stunning. Picking up the switch and playing these games in handheld mode is similarly amazing though in an altogether different way.

@Grumblevolcano yup - I did the game pass upgrade - paid my gold subscription up to July 2022 the paid a quid to upgrade to game pass ultimate which converted my gold to the game pass ultimate package for the next 3 years. Incredible deal.

Smart by Microsoft - I will be buying Scarlett if and when I decide to upgrade - in truth though the Xbox one x is an absolute monster - incredible console for the money and I do not see me being an early adopter of the new consoles

Borderlands 3 is probably my game of the year to date it is amazing.
Gears 5’s gfx on Xbox one x in 4K are unbelievable - to me it looks like what next gen would be ! Great game as well

Both these games have the same core mechanics as the other games - just refined and expanded to perfection

Get it on game pass day 1 - happy days. Looking forward to it.

Last snooker game I played was on the Atari st I think ! Was extremely unforgiving- could hardly pot 5 or 6 balls in a row

@brendon987 your missing a great game. Seems to be a trend now to over criticise titles that fall below optimum performance - was doom last week now pillars this week. Both are superb on the switch.

@R1spam I am playing on handheld exclusively and the load times are ok

Game is amazing in my opinion. Incredible you can play this on a handheld. They absolutely nailed the interface as well

The text glitch is very strange - it doesn’t affect the gameplay but there is no way they never saw this as it is prevalent throughout the game almost from the very start

Slightly strange schedule. Front end loaded with September in particular heavily stacked - then a month with nothing until Luigis mansion on 31st October.

@BlueOcean the games are fine. If they were poor to play I would be the first to complain - they are extremely enjoyable to play on the switch

@Galenmereth if I hadn’t already bought the games I would be put off with this article - car crash of a port etc. Reality is the games are great

@OorWullie totally agree. There is nothing wrong with these games on switch.

@Bunkerneath “majorly discounted” - doom 1 and 2 are 3.99 gbp each - even a major discount constitutes a saving of only 2 pound a title !

Love the doom series and picked these up having played through them many times across several platforms. Well through doom and really enjoying it in handheld mode.

Thought it played great - then seen all these articles on how poor the ports were. In truth I don’t get it - plays great, smooth and just a great doom experience.

Think Nintendo have done the right thing here.

He could go to steam, increase his rep (particularly if it’s a quality game), make connections then come back to Nintendo.

Looking forward to this.

Worry slightly longer term though for switch - when the new consoles come out in 15 months time the switch is going to look extremely underpowered - significantly more so than today. Ports I would suggest will be next to impossible
