Re: Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation And DLCs Will Also Disappear From The 3DS eShop

PlayerOne

Who are these mythical people who like FE: Fates and somehow haven't already got round to getting the DLC? New customers? At this stage?
Honestly, this is a real reach. Just looking for stuff to be annoyed about.
Digital content is absolutely fine as long you know what you are buying (essentially a rental) and pay what you think that is worth. Yes, that should probably be less than physical content. Although not having to find and swap media is a plus to me.

Re: Nintendo Is Closing The 3DS & Wii U eShops And Has "No Plans To Offer Classic Content In Other Ways"

@AlienX Same for me. I've got 13 hours on 13 games, according to the Memories site, with my third most played game being one I don't even own (I played a bit of multiplayer). No mention of the hundreds of hours I put into MHU4.
It looks like it's just the first month or two, for me, and is ignoring the other 10 years.
I assume it's something to do with the disastrous mess of accounts.

Re: Nihon Falcom Announce Four More 'Trails' Games Coming To Switch In The West

PlayerOne

Great news that the missing Crossbell games are coming to the west officially. It seems a long way away, but I still need to play the three Trails in the Sky games so I probably won't be ready in time.
(Is it really wise to announce PS4 games for 2023, though?)
CS 1 and 2 are already available on PC and PS4. It's just the Switch that's missing out. The issue is that the first two (along with the Sky series) were handled by XSEED rather than NIS in the west.

Re: Pokémon Fans Get '#GameFreakLied' Trending As Sword And Shield Drama Intensifies Yet Again

@m8e3point1415 I think it's the right decision not to keep dragging around 20 years of history. It's a bit like the Star Wars films de-canonising the EU - you just cannot support that kind of baggage without the whole thing collapsing under its own weight.

But leaving that aside, there is no excuse for abuse. "Fans" are not entitled to get what they want. GameFreak should be free to make a terrible game. I mean, it should do badly, if it's terrible, but there's normal disappointment and there's internet disappointment.

Re: Feature: The Best Professor Layton Games

I have literally just started Lost Future (there doesn't seem to be much logic behind the use of US vs UK titles in the article, but never mind). I bought it when it came out, in 2010. It was still shrink-wrapped.

I'm a little over 5 hours in now, and my DSi XL only now needs charging, after I haven't touched it for years.

Re: Nintendo Download: 13th June (Europe)

I just wanted to say, because it almost never happens, that I am Setsuna is also on sale on PSN, where it is more expensive

I didn't think I'd see the day when the Switch version of something was cheaper than the PS4 version. (Actually, it looks like the normal price is slightly higher on PSN, too.)

Re: Nintendo Download: Gaming On The Go Sale (Europe)

PlayerOne

Nice. Monster Hunter and Golf Story for me, for sure. I don't know much about some of the others. I bought Axiom Verge last time it was on sale.

(I don't understand why people love physical versions so much around here. Who wants to keep swapping cartridges?)

Re: Review: Monster Hunter Stories (3DS)

@MattFox
"Gee, nobody bought our last Monster Hunter game. I guess we'd better release another one."

I'm not sure that's how it's going to work.

(I loved MH4U and G, but I'm not convinced by this spin-off yet.)

Re: Reggie Explains the Reasoning Behind the New 2DS XL

PlayerOne

This is just bringing up the old 2DS to the New spec. I don't see why there's anything controversial about that at all.

The Switch is way more expensive, and not particularly great for portability or for multiple devices in a household.

It looks quite nice, to me, and I tend to switch the 3D off on my N3DS, so maybe it would be worth, erm, sidegrading. How accessible is the SD card?

Edit: OK, I just looked at the pictures from the announcement. The SD slot is actually accessible without a screwdriver, which is a nice upgrade over the N3DS. It looks like it closes better, and is probably more comfortable to hold than the N3DS XL, thanks to that game cover. I like it a lot. If Nintendo didn't insist on tying my account to one device, I'd probably get one in addition to my N3DS XL.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th May (Europe)

PlayerOne

I just noticed that the Sale banner on the eShop shows Devil Survivor 2 rather than Devil Summoner... (Yeah, I get them mixed up, too.)
I already have Persona Q on cartridge, but I was thinking of replacing it with the download version if it had been £8.99. Never mind. I've picked up the two I didn't have (EOU and Devil Summoner).

Re: EU VC Releases - 25th April - The Last Ninja

PlayerOne

The C64 was very popular in Europe, thewiirocks. More so than the Master System, I'd say. Particularly in Germany, I believe, which also happens to be where NOE are based (I think), and it is down to them that we have the C64.

I think everything released for the Commodore so far was also on the DTV, but some of them were only on the PAL version.

I already have two of the DTVs, but I might just get myself a VC version just to show some support.
