These is fantastic. Great way to unwind and detach without having to anything resembling going outside or exercising.
Yeah, the aiming is a little stiff at times but, it's not like there are high stakes situations that need fast reflexes or precision shooting here. The filthy pond just sits there and takes it. The filthy, filthy pond.

Re: Poll: Do You Want Weapon Degradation To Return In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Parker75

I know it isn’t the most popular opinion but BOTW just did not do it for me. At all. The degrading weapons was a big part of it. I absolutely hated it, more passionately than I expected. I did not nearly finish the game and had little desire to return to it. This is a major personal disappointment as I usually love and actually finish Zelda games.

Re: Feature: Which Is The Absolute Best Nintendo Console Generation?

Parker75

This is a tough one...
The SNES was my entry drug into the world of Nintendo, largely thanks to SF 2. So many classic games.
But, as a combo the N64 and GBC is hard to beat. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, all those...64 games (other than Superman, of course) a few ok Zelda and Marios too. That's not taking into account the great early Pokemon games and Tetris, portable, in color!
Switch will eventually surpass all thanks to it's huge library of current and classic games. But for now, I'll stick with N64 and GBC. As I moved into the Sony-verse for the Wii and Wii-U generations I can scientifically remove those from my thoughts. It does hurt to abandon the 3DS though.

Re: Feature: 8 Things We'd Love To See In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2

Parker75

Man the breakable weapons... utterly killed the game for me. Never went back. Being playing Zelda games since SNES and am all up for reworking the formula but that I cannot think of a mechanic that has been responsible for me abandoning a game entirely like this. I know many others disagree and I'm not sure why I had such a strong reaction to it. After Skyrim I'm used to an open world with a little more... life... in it too. That would be nice. Sure people are on it. Not sure, but think the people that make and design these games may, sometimes, know a bit more than me.

Re: Talking Point: How Does Microsoft's Purchase Of Activision Blizzard Impact Nintendo?

Parker75

Man this is depressing.
Rare were great before Microsoft came calling. They were absorbed and essentially vanished soon after. Perfect Dark Zero isn't quite as fondly remembered as its predecessors! Dearly hope that won't happen to the others, but it easily could as they lose the ability to chose their own projects and direction. I could care less about CoD but I cannot see the Disney-fication of the gaming world as being a good thing for the wider community.
I had hoped that we were beyond the idiocy of console wars and this attempt at a monopoly with the sole aim of forcing people's hand at hardware sales..

Re: Qualcomm Unveils Switch-Style Device Targeting "The Future Of Portable Gaming"

Parker75

Kind of reminds me of the Nokia N-Gage. It must be better thought out than that was.

They thought it was a good idea to put the cartridge slot behind the phone battery. Meaning you had to switch the whole thing off and take the phone apart to change games. Shockingly it didn't take off. By the time they'd redesigned and relaunched the thing nobody cared.

Do like the look of the steam deck though. Between that, a switch and an iPad think I'll have all the portable gaming devices I could need.

Re: Talking Point: Is "Cheesing" A Legitimate Strategy?

Parker75

Surely cheesing is just being smarter way of finding legitimate ways to progress through a game? Good strategy is nothing to be ashamed of.
Not really a big issue for me. I was just sucked in by the sub heading. I have a concern about how this would impact dairy intolerant gamers.

Re: Monster Hunter Movie's Chinese Premiere Reportedly Cancelled Due To Racist Joke

Parker75

Not sure it's quite right that the premiere has been cancelled. I saw it in Shenzhen Friday night. Local audience didn't seem to notice the throwaway moment. Cancelling for not exactly being a good film and for Tony Jaa being the best actor (not fighter) on screen could be justifiable reasons for pulling it. Not bad dad jokes told in a bad dad joke way. Still, little silly to include it, knowing how touchy netizens are. Especially, if reports are accurate and they are relying on the Chinese box office for the film to make money.
