Re: Sonic Origins Arrives 23rd June, New Trailer And Website Are Live

@liljmoore
I mean, the stages themselves aren’t too hard, it’s just that making one mistake could mean the end, which makes the emerald hunt in Sonic 2 extremely time consuming without save states, and it’s made even worse with tails following.
Without save states, the later stages would be: collect 50 rings, find a post without getting hit, lose for not knowing layout, collect 50 rings, find a post without getting hit, probably lose because you forgot the layout while trying not to get hit between posts, and then repeat the steps again through harder and harder levels, making the layout harder and harder to remember between posts.
I guess you could use a video to know where upcoming rings and bombs are, but that involves pausing the game and interrupting gameplay and control, and feels a bit like cheating. Save states can be used to restart special stages after losing, but you get more practice, increase you’re skills and remember more each time, plus you don’t forget the layout while avoiding enemy’s between posts.
I know this isn’t just a me issue, but I don’t know what the majority of people think, so good for you if you’re truly that good.

Re: Poll: Are You Finding Sonic Origins' Various Editions And DLC Packs Confusing?

@SuperWeird
A collection of four Sonic games, including upgraded versions of Christian Whitehead’s Sonic 1, 2, & CD remasters and a brand new Sonic 3 & Knuckles’s remaster made by Headcannon (Both of whom worked on Sonic Mania as well).
The collection will also include new animated cutscenes for each game, a ranked mission mode, blue spheres game, “new areas to explore”, a mirror mode, a museum to spend collected “coins”, a music player, boss rush modes, and the original 4/5 games.

Lives don’t matter if you’re good at the games anyway, and personally I also don’t care as it means the gameplay experience won’t be interrupted by game over’s, and none of the games will need to be started right from the beginning.
Although a Sonic Mania save system (or save states) would still need to be implemented so you can quit the games part way through, personally I want save states because it’s basically the only way I can complete the Sonic 2 special stages…

This collection is gonna be so epic! I wonder what these HD remasters will actually look like, what the new areas are (new levels or new parts of levels), if the music will also be remastered, if Sonic 3 will have the original soundtrack, and if online multiplayer will be added. They better add Tails flight to Sonic 2. The extra content will probably be things like an unlockable be Blue Spheres game, Knuckles & Tails’s playable playable in Sonic 1, adding the Insta shield to previous games, debug mode, etc.

Re: Sonic Origins Rated In Australia

@Pillowpants
1. Sonic 2 is already on Sega Mega Genesis Drive Nintendo Switch Online.
2. The versions in Sonic Origins will have widescreen and other additional features, so the original versions could still eventually release on NSO, especially Sonic 1.

@Specter_of-the_OLED
I agree that having only 5 games seems bad, but if these truely are native ports with big enough changes and additions, then I think it will be worth a buy.

Widescreen support is a great start to improving the experience, because you can see things that would previously have been off screen.
Here’s other things that I think would make up for them only including 5 games:
Playable Tails & Knuckles’s in all 5 games, with their full move sets (specifically talking about no Tails flight in Sonic 2).
Hidden Palace zone secret stage in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Original Sonic 3&K soundtrack.
Remastered music and sounds.
Stage transitions.
Extra Sonic 1 special stage to unlock super Sonic.
Sonic 3/mobile save system, or at least save states.
Using remastered (or at least Sonic 3) sprites in every game.
Online races with multiplayer, not just leaderboards.
Digital manuals.
Playable Mighty, Ray, Amy, and/or Metal Sonic (I’m definitely not expecting this though).

I definitely think that they should have a few unlockable emulated games such as Knuckles’s Chaotix, Spinball, and 3D Blast. In fact 3D blast is the only reason I still own Sega Mega Genesis Drive Classics.

@FishyS
Well Sonic Origins is making actual changes to these games, unfortunately they’ve only announced widescreen support for all 5 games included at the moment, but these ratings mean an announcement is probably coming very coming soon, and they’ll probably announce the other addition features then.

Re: Sonic Origins Re-Emerges, Receives Rating In South Korea

Pandy-the-Panda

Hopefully this means it’s releasing soon, I really want to play Sonic 3&K and widescreen Sonic 2 on my Switch.
Here’s a few of the things that I want to see included in these versions:
Spin dash, drop dash & Insta shield move options in every game.
Sonic 3 save system and save states / rewind function in every game.
Knuckles & Tails playable with their full move sets in every game.
Online multiplayer in every game.
Sonic 3 sprites in every game.
Hidden palace zone in Sonic 2.
Bonus Blue Spheres game mode in Sonic 3.

Re: There's More Crash Bandicoot Coming "Very Soon", According To Toys For Bob

Pandy-the-Panda

@Anti-Matter @MasterJay I got back into Skylanders this year after being gone since 2017. I’d love a new game, but it’s not gonna be announced during a Crash Bandicoot event. I actually want some Skylanders remasters, partially just to get all the games on current systems, cause Spyro’s Adventure and Giants aren’t on Nintendo Switch, Xbox one, PS4, Xbox Series, PS4.
