Just got into Monster Hunter Rise, hope to play a good helping of that in between remote job sessions. Might also get some gaming comfort food and play Megaman a bit today, jury's still out on exactly which one.
@thomasBW84 THANK YOU! You've converted me to this weapon, and I'm having, without a doubt, THE most fun I've EVER had in Monster Hunter! MHRise definitely is onto something good with Wirebugs, and they make all gameplay amazing and cool, but this very article made me try the Insect Glaive for the first time, and I'll never look back. "The ground is LAVA" Forever!
"My mother always told me not to stare into the sun, so one time in 1996 I did." Happy π day! (3/14) Seriously though, that was a heck of a thing to discover. Just look up at the skylight and boom, a level is there! I was like "Where ISN'T there a level in this game?"
"After a time, you will find that 'having' is not so pleasing a thing after all as 'wanting'. It is not logical... but it is often true." Spock, Star Trek, Amok Time
I'd like info on BOTW 2, a new Fire Emblem game for the horizon, plus Blaster Master Zero 3. And while I'm wishing for stuff, I want BMZ3 to bombshell launch today.
"Why is any of this happening?" the title screen opening crawl says, in TL;DR: In an unspecified point in the future, humans learned to travel to alternate timelines, and as a result, they broke reality. Now past, future, fantasy and scifi are nearly indistiguishable from the present, and only 3 hot babes can save reality.
"Who are these people?" Well I must admit you almost have me stumped there, as I don't know which people you're referring to. If you mean the playables, they're heroines who've united to explore and rescue this broken reality. the story's just thin window dressing after all. As scanty as the girls' outfits. And for this game, I like that, on both counts.
"What do these numbers mean? What are these currencies for?" Gold to buy new cards and items, Skill Points to buy upgrades during a run, and Trophies to unlock game features and costumes.
"A combo bar? What combo?" If you play the combo of colored cards shown on the combo bar, in order, the next Attack (red) card after that, will do double damage.
"What does 'Punishment' mean in this context?" The Paladin can stack Punishment points when playing certain cards, and the next enemy to hit her will receive the Punishment score as counter damage.
"How does Radioactivity affect your plays?" It's like Poison in other games. It's DOT that degrades each turn, and hurts you regardless of your armor.
Now you know how to play Neoverse. You're welcome.
PSA: I just bought this at 1:05 PM EST, and there's a big bug. The tutorial and the puzzle mode are fine, but the basic battle mode freezes at many points in the character select and cannot be played until they patch in a bugfix.
Beats me what song is stuck in your head, sorry. Only song in my head when Scott Pilgrim the Game is mentioned is good ol' "Another Winter" from the game itself.
I'm sharing the house copy of Immortals: Fenyx Rising with my husband, and playing Disgaea 1 Complete in the meantime, because it'll be so difficult to revisit the game (the original I haven't played in over 10 years) once Disgaea 6 hits this summer.
I want news on Sliksong, Shovel Knight Dig, Gunvolt 3 and Blaster Master Zero 3. And if even one of those games were to ninja launch tomorrow, I'd be ecstatic (Especially BMZ3).
Could there FINALLY be a proper ending for best boy, Blue? In the 1998 version his ending... if you can call it that... was... disappointing, to say the least. I'll say no more unless prompted, but with the time they have to work on it now, I'd be surprised if that wasn't one of the things they fix. I DO love this game. It was my first SaGa, and still my favorite.
I would get this game, as a good side-scrolling beat-em-up makes a good party game, but it'll have to wait a bit. Little poor right now. Looks good though. Also, I realize I'm probably the only person on the PLANET who cares, but when will Hamster AA put up Nova 2001?
" Approach it from the Breath of the Wild angle (a game which certainly wasn't free of performance issues), though, and you'll be a much happier bunny with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity's 30fps target."
A much happier... bunny.
It's like the review was written for me lol
Seriously, though, I've been really looking forward to this game since it was announced in September, and the demo has only convinced me I'm in for a good time.
This is a very good game (made chiefly by two people!), and I wouldn't say you need to care so much about rice specifically to enjoy it, but rather, to care about Japanese culture in general. Those with a good dose of curiosity and respect for the highly influential Pacific archipelago that is Japan (as most Nintendo Life fans probably do) will have the patience for a game about raising it's high maintenance staple crop. Also, I will have a moment of silence for the adorable demon rabbit fodder enemies. Bad bunnies!
Got this on launchday for the Switch, and love it. I sampled it years ago on a Steam Free Weekend, and struggled with it a great deal, but I dialed back to Beginner for the Switch version for my first win, and am now moving to the Experienced difficulty, trying for a campaign win there.
Here's a tip, for some fun: If you have a Shock Trap item in addition to your default stun weapon, knock a guard out, drag him to a dead end room with one door in or out, and place a shock trap on the door after you leave. Let him rot in there for 6 or so turns.

The shape on the side panel looks like it's flipping us off!
That's okay by me, 'cause that's my reaction to Hyperkin hardware in general.
