Re: Review: Vampire Crystals (WiiWare)

Omega

I have some questions:

  • Have you (the reviewer) beaten the game?
  • What difficulty settings are there?
  • Can you save your game after a stage?

What are you talking about? Can I have some detailed pics and close-ups please? (drool, slobber, drool)

Re: Hardware Review: Wii Mini

@Lum Really? Neither the Gamecube nor the Wii support RGB video output? I can't believe this. That would mean that there are no RGB scart cables for the Gamecube/Wii on the market in america?! (In Europe, this is the preferred way to connect older consoles to CRT TVs.) That's strange. I didn't knew that.

Re: Hardware Review: Wii Mini

Omega

So this console doesn't support component cables.
But what about RGB cables?

I usually connect my Wiis, Gamecubes, PS2s and XBOXes via RGB (scart) to the LCD-TV and the picture quality is absolutely fine. No component cable needed.

Re: Wii Mini Doesn't Include an SD Slot

Omega

Why is this console useless? You can play Super Mario Galaxy 1+2, Metroid Prime III, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Tales of Symphonia, Sin & Punishment II, Golden Eye 007 yadda-yadda-yadda...

The only problem is the price. 100$ is in my opinion a bit too much with the restrictions and the clumsy casing. They should've made it 50$ instead.

Re: Nintendo Has No Plans To Launch Wii Mini In The UK

Omega

I already have two Wiis. But I was hoping it would be released in Europe because that would raise the life-cycle of the Wii like that of the Playstation 2. Saying "we only concentrate on the Wii U" is pretty nearsighted. They still have to learn a lot from Sony.

Re: Wii Mini Is Official And Has No Online Connectivity

Omega

The Wii mini console does not connect to the Internet...
Maybe they mean it does not connect to the Internet via Wireless LAN but has Ethernet? Be that as it may, there are still more than enough excellent disc based games on the Wii that make it worthwhile.

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th November 2012 (North America)

Omega

Yes. I think a list of everything was okay when only WiiWare and Virtual Console existed. But now it's too confusing. And not everyone owns every system. For example I don't own a 3DS or DSi and I don't care what's been published recently on these systems.

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th November 2012 (North America)

Omega

These Nintendo download articles get more and more annoying because there's everything in it: 3DS Ware, 3DS Retail, DSiWare, WiiWare, Virtual Console. And coming soon: WiiU Ware, WiiU Retail, WiiU Demos and so on...

And everybody in the comments is talking about something different. Thus, the Nintendo download should be divided into separate articles by system: Wii, 3DS, DSi and WiiU.

Re: Review: Back To Nature (WiiWare)

Omega

So why is this described as "Adventure" in the info box? Adventure is something like Monkey Island, Myst or Fenimore Fillmore: The Westerner. The only genre that Nintendo Life has and which fits to the game is "Other". (Since there is no "mini games".)

Why anyone would release a game on WiiWare now is puzzling.

Nope. It's because the Wii U is just going to be an addition to the market as most people will still own a Wii and will still be buying games for it.

...the WiiWare version is expected before the end of the year [insert year here]...

The WiiWare version is expected before the end of the year 2020.

Re: The Famicom's Biggest Rival Is 25 Years Old

Omega

In Germany whether the Famicom nor the PC-Engine were that popular. The NES playing second fiddle to the homecomputers (like Atari XL/XE, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, C64 and Amiga) and the PC-Engine was only available over import dealer.

I would say the most popular systems at this time were the C64 and Amiga. At least among the people I know. And the biggest rival to the NES was the Sega Master System.

Re: French Firm Recycles SNES Consoles With a Unique Twist

I would pay 45 Euros instead of 190 and refurbish it myself. It's not hard if you have the proper screwdrivers. - And it's not even clear if they take the console apart to clean it or if they just use Mr. Clean and a sponge to "refurbish" it on the outside. (Anyone can do that, and it's certainly not worth that much money.)

Re: Prize Awarded To Brave Knight Who Completed Ghosts 'n Goblins On 3DS

Omega

^ Wow. Another pro gamer here. Now on to the Genesis version. It is really worth the extra 800 Points. It's not the same game as the SNES version. Super GnG on the SNES is like a Ghouls'n Ghosts II (Only the first graveyard level looks similar but even that changes halfway through.) The Genesis port is like the arcade version of Ghouls'n Ghosts. And, like I mentioned above, the Genesis version is IMO clearly the easiest of the three. So nothing to fear of.

Re: Prize Awarded To Brave Knight Who Completed Ghosts 'n Goblins On 3DS

Omega

^ Congrats. If you have beaten the arcade version then nothing can stop you. Referring to Ghouls'n Ghosts: The Genesis version is a completely different game and in my opinion much easier than the SNES version because you have unlimited continues. (Even after continuing you start at the last checkpoint. And if you die in a boss battle you start again at the boss.)

Re: Ghosts 'n' Goblins Coming To 3DS eShop Next Week

Omega

@bezerker99 Well spottet. On the US boxart it says "Ghosts'n Goblins" while on the EU boxart it says "Ghost'n Goblins". I guess in the Euorpean version they only put one ghost in to save money.
@FonistofCruxis I think there's a glitch in the matrix. Which means an agent is nearby...
