Re: Halting Wii U System Update May Brick the System

NESguy94

The warranty should cover this no problem. From what I've heard the system was released without the update because they had already begun manufacturing systems and they wanted them to all be the same at launch. I'm sure you'll be able to buy one in the future that has everything pre-installed.

Re: Talking Point: Life Without Wii U Achievements

NESguy94

I enjoy achievements as they add a nice replay value to a lot of games. They help make a great game last longer. On the other hand they can be utterly ridiculous and they don' truly add anything to a game. I would like to see an achievement/unlockable idea implemented that gives you items and clothes for your Mii. For example, if you finish Super Mario Bros U, you get a Mario hat for your Mii but if you 100% the game you get a Tanooki suit. Simple stuff like that makes it worth it to me.

Wait, the buttons that appear at the bottom of the screen to help you out are labeled wrong for the WiiU. The buttons that are displayed are the XBOX 360's button configuration A and B are mixed up and X and Y are mixed up. Yet the Wii U controller that is shown shows the buttons in the right configuration.

Re: Feature: In Defence of Super Mario Sunshine

I enjoyed it but I was never draw into it as much as most Mario games. I could play long enough to nab one Shine Sprite and then turn it off for the day while I would grab 30+ star in one sitting of Galaxy 1 & 2 and Mario 64. With the originals on the NES I could play world after difficult world without stopping.

I don't know what it was about this game but it just doesn't have the appeal most Mario games do.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime: Fanbase Demands Are 'Insatiable'

NESguy94

I think Reggie is right, they give us something nice and we throw it in their faces demanding more. As a Legend of Zelda fan, I see this a lot from other fans. Why can't people be happy with what was given to them.

Yes, I would have enjoyed a new Metroid or StarFox, but we will see them again. Just because we didn't get them this year doesn't mean that they will never come.

Nintendo Land isn't perfect but it actually looks fun and it will draw in a lot of consumers. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Paper Mario: Sticker Star looked amazing! Why do we need 10 great games to have a great E3? Also we get 2 new Mario titles. What does everyone complain about? They say that Nintendo doesn't change, well Nintendo is trying something else, give it a try before you complain.

Nintendo has shown that they are still making good games and that their console looks like it will be amazing. We can't ask for much more.

Re: Wii U Power Lacks a 'Generational Leap'

Graphics aren't everything, but, it would be nice if Nintendo would launch this with better processors so that they don't set themselves up to be in a position where they haves the weakest system. I would pay a few hundred extra dollars if Nintendo would make a few changes.

The battery life is also going to be really annoying. It seems that Nintendo would have listened to the fans that complained about the battery life on the 3DS and learned from their mistakes.

Nintendo needs to be willing to spend a little extra money on good parts for the Wii-U to give it a competitive edge.

Re: Upcycle Nintendo Gear into Office Equipment

NESguy94

I've seen a lot of dead consoles but I like to fix them more than turning them into something new. It's fun and profitable, plus when I get one that doesn't work, I'll keep all the working parts and shell for the next repair. This is really cool idea though, just don't destroy anything that is rare or a limited edition version.
