Re: Review: Yoshi's New Island (3DS)

MuchoMochi

the 5's and 4's this game is getting really doesn't seem fair, sure the level design and pacing may not be up to par to other platformers but Yoshi games are hardly action packed games. They are intended to be short, explorative, and charming experiences. Is it fair to compare this game to the original so often? I think people need to be more objective. Sequels are supposed to change and add a little but Yoshi games don't have much room to grow if they are to stay in their creative paradigm. I think the art style is fine, the new power ups controlled by the gyroscope will be fine; the only thing that jumped at me as lazy as the lack of original soundtracks. I think it's a 6.5 or 7.

Re: Japanese Prime Minister Says the Country's Economy "Can Learn From" Nintendo

MuchoMochi

@Einherjar That is specifically why I think Nintendo is the only company that'll release another console after this generation, be it another home console or handheld/console combo. They are the latest to HD development, and despite the grievances we have with some of their business choices they are still alive and turning a profit on their games, not to mention they have a majority control on the handheld market. This may be hurting due to the casuals moving to mobile games, but it's still a valid business model that will make money for Nintendo. Wether or not they will continue being a gaming company remains to be seen, but what I do see in the future is console gaming changing to the point where it's not recognized by the previous generation gamers.

@CaviarMeths Hey man trust me, I don't want the Playstation brand to go anywhere, some of my favorite games of all time are on their platforms. Looking at it objectively, Sony is not in the greatest of places and I don't think the Playstation will be able to keep them a float.Their biggest source of revenue may not be electronics but it's definitely a business they have been struggling to keep their iron fist around and it is costing them a lot.

I'm a firm believer that once Nintendo drops out of the race that console gaming will soon follow. Both Sony and Microsoft don't appear to be in it for much longer what with Sony being projected to have an 80% chance of being out of business within 5 years, and the new leader of the Xbox division showing pretty blatant interests in selling the brand. That'll be a sad day when gaming as we know it is gone.

I like boobs and beat em' ups as much as the next guy but the gameplay looks kind of mediocre. Besides the fact that I can't get a physical copy here in the US. The anime is funny enough, albeit a lot of fan service going on. I'm alright with that though, show some maturity and not whine about it being sexist or disgusting people. It's another cultures form of entertainment, it's more of a form of comedy than it is sexual gratification. You don't have to watch it if you don't want it, but don't make people feel bad for enjoying it.

Re: PS4 Launch Sales Close to Wii U Equivalents, 3DS Remains Best of the Rest

MuchoMochi

I'll never understand early adopters I swear, even for Nintendo systems. Sure the PS4 hardware is impressive, but there is hardly any worthwhile games for it, why buy it now? As far as spring goes Infamous: Second Son looks fun, Thief was pretty much a mediocre grey experience that disappointed fans, they are getting another MMO Final Fantasy port, the new Metal Gear Solid is a $30 dollar demo, Watch Dogs looks fun but that's not until summer. The launch titles were the worst of any system, arguably, in the new generation of consoles. I didn't buy the Wii U until it was bundled with a game and there was a price drop and at least 10 games on the console I wanted. I'll be waiting until some time later this year or early 2015 to get a PS4. Hopefully by then I can get it a bit cheaper.

Re: Sega Unleashes Sonic Boom Behind The Scenes Video

MuchoMochi

Is dubstep really that popular now? I remember when this crap started in the 90's. Was a mediocre genre then, it's a mediocre genre now.

Despite that, I really think this game will be a redemption for Sega. The cartoon animation is looking impressive as well, and the game is looking awesome. All I hope is that Knuckles can still glide now that he is so huge

Re: "Phantom Gate" Trademark By Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures Inc. Brings Pokémon to Mind

MuchoMochi

They should make a Pokemon game in the style of Animal Crossings. Essentially what the paradise was in Gates to Infinity but in a much grander scheme. You are the human mayor of a town of Pokemon, maybe you could be a new professor and study the friendship and social interactions of Pokemon when they live in a town built by you.

Then again maybe they should just make two separate titles, an Animal Crossings game and a new Pokemon game for the Wii U.

Re: Talking Point: The Watch_Dogs Wii U Delay Demonstrates That Major Third-Parties Are Walking Away

MuchoMochi

@gatorboi352 I love both the Wii U and the Dreamcast I think if Wii U sales don't increase and Nintendo does make a large incentive to bring back third party developers then it'll be even more niche than the Dreamcast. The dreamcast had the golden age Capcom fighters on it's system, that's something the Wii U certainly will never have. Then again Wii U has Nintendo's first party titles so they may be on even ground. I think Nintendo can easily turn this around and meet around Gamecube numbers if they just market the damn thing and listen to the fans about the games we want. They have the ability, which SEGA did not have.

Re: Watch_Dogs Delayed Again on Wii U, Will Arrive on the System After Other Platforms

MuchoMochi

@GunstarHero234 I'm not blaming you at all, I'm just saying there are people in very different financial situations than you, someone who has several consoles. Did you pay for all them, or did your parents? I'm a full-time student and I only have one console and one handheld current generation that I can afford to get maybe one or two games a month for. I still play my retro consoles but I don't have to pay for those any longer. All i'm saying is don't say it's people's fault and say they should go buy more crap, they may not have the money, and when a company says there is going to be a version of a game we can pre-order and expect to come out it's a huge disappointment when it doesn't. Your comments just are coming off snobby.

Re: Sonic Lost World Sales Reached 640,000 in 2013

MuchoMochi

@SecondServing That's how I felt, it's not a game I'll come back to again and again. I appreciated it as another title for the Wii U though. I hope Sonic Boom lives up to the challenge, from what I've seen i'm excited. I'm being smart about it as well though, still hesitantly hyped though.

Re: Sonic Lost World Sales Reached 640,000 in 2013

MuchoMochi

@SecondServing yes I read that part, you assumed that the Wii U version sold maybe 200,000 copies based on a very vague percentage. although over 50% means more than half, it's usually said when the real percentage is anywhere from 50-60%. Otherwise they would have said a different percentage if the gap was larger. 200,000 is about 31.5%, so logically they would have said the 3DS accounts for almost 70% of those sales. I'm not on damage control, I don't work for SEGA. I just believe the Wii U version was the stronger version and should be celebrated for making however much sales it has. Did you enjoy the Wii U version or 3DS?

Re: Sega Has "No Plans" To Release Sonic Boom In Japan, Sonic Team Will Continue To Work On The Franchise

MuchoMochi

@meppi Why exactly are you so keen to avoid this? I'm a Sonic fan to a lesser extent and can honestly say after all the ways they have spoiled this franchise with lackluster games and truly odd concepts, this is the best thing they can do. Sonic Team has always been criticized by Sonic's fans to do something better, give them what they want, and when new things are tried they usually fail because they try to hold on to old things about sonic while pushing forward. They have a new look, new true 3D platforming style gameplay, I am definitely interested.

You hardly know enough about the game, to call it an "abomination is quite dramatic and honestly childish. Things change, and change can be good.
