Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Update 1.6 Arriving On Switch Next Week

@Rhum17 i did play SoTN when I was young. I thought it was cool then, but I'm even more impressed by it now as an adult. Probably decades of slop has really thrown SoTN into sharp relief, about what a great game can be.
Has anybody played the "Deedlit" game? She is an elf from the old anime "Record of Lodoss War" and her animation is exactly Alucard. I'm guessing some of the SoTN people worked on it. Sadly the levels are kind of lackluster and the game is short.

Re: Creators Of New Switch Emulator 'Suyu' Hope To Avoid Nintendo's Wrath

@WheresWaveRace I had already beaten BotW on switch, and then I played it on PC to try out the Linkle mod. It's very cool.
Anyway, there are plenty of reasons. A lot of people have purchased games and just enjoy messing with them or trying them on different hardware etc etc. it's genuinely a hobby that people are clearly passionate about or they wouldn't take the time and effort in the first place.
Some people have blazing top of the line hardware and want to play in 4k with all sorts of effects.
I'm in the opposite end. I like to see de-makes, and how games can be stripped down to play on the weakest hardware possible.

@tameshiyaku this 100%. Making classic games on the Switch, into a subscription service was the biggest disrespect to Nintendo fans. I've already purchased these older games several times in both physical and e-shop forms. Heck, I probably would have begrudgingly purchased them again on Switch.
But I'm sure as hell not paying a subscription to access them. Emulation is fully justified.
I don't even want to purchase new switch games anymore because of Nintendo's behavior over the years.

Re: Super Mario 'Mario Kart' LEGO Releasing In 2025

Huge Mario fan, big Lego fan, but the Mario sets.... Just don't like them. They use too many weird proprietary pieces.
They should have gone the nom.al route. Like HP or Minecraft for example, were only little swords and minifig heads are special. But the sets are made from regular pieces.
The only Mario sets we buy are the little mystery boxes that goomba or turtles or whatever. Those are quite fun.

@Zidentia Dragon Warrior was also my first RPG! We actually received it free from Nintendo Power magazine.
I was too young and didn't really understand it at first but watched my brother play. Then I got the hang of it and would run home after school every day to try to further my quest.
As an adult, a couple of things surprise me. That a magazine sent a free game. And that we even had a subscription back in the day! At that point I think we had a total of 3 games; Mario Bros, Mario 3, and Tetris.

Re: Super Mario LEGO Announcement Teased Ahead Of Mario Day 2024

@Lofoten that Lego nes with tv set is one of the coolest of all time. It's expensive though... One day I might have to pick up it while it's still available at MSRP.
@Poodlestargenerica I bet it's more of the weird pieces. I wish they'd just make them with normal pieces. Special colors is the most I'll tolerate. I got some of those "Lego friends" series sets for the special colors but the minifigs are horrendous!
