Part Time UFO is great! It's probably looked over by most, but it's one of the most played games on my switch. Incredibly charming and you can see love went into it, and the kids absolutely love it too.
@Draelyn switch lite is actually perfect size. But not dockable kills it for me. If they made a switch 2 lite, same physical size, smaller bezels (larger screen) and dockable... That'd be perfect.
Worst Animal Crossing game. AC in name only, otherwise it's just nonstop click and different currencies, tickets, whatever. Even New Horizons lost quite a bit of AC charm. New Leaf was the peak. Nintendo really botched all their mobile releases. They're just watered down, bad games. Thank goodness for emulators.
@EarthboundBenjy The Deedlit game had some of the actual people from SoTN working on it if I remember correctly. I got the feeling they just didn't have the budget to make a large grand adventure. Record of Lodoss War was a favorite of mine as a kid too.
@Rhum17 i did play SoTN when I was young. I thought it was cool then, but I'm even more impressed by it now as an adult. Probably decades of slop has really thrown SoTN into sharp relief, about what a great game can be. Has anybody played the "Deedlit" game? She is an elf from the old anime "Record of Lodoss War" and her animation is exactly Alucard. I'm guessing some of the SoTN people worked on it. Sadly the levels are kind of lackluster and the game is short.
@SuperBro64 my favorite as well. I wish the Mario 35 game hadn't been a limited time, as that's a great idea that should stick around. I love normal Tetris, but Tetris 99 I find annoying. F-Zero is great and a perfect fit for online!
@PharoneTheGnome I just downloaded the installer today! I played LoTRO many uears ago, but recently I've been re-reading the books, and it made me want to try the game again.
@Expa0 agree with everything you said. I was actually reluctant to play the DS castlevanias because of the art... but in game is fine and they are great!
So many negative comments! I for one think it sounds interesting and the art style looks fantastic and original. I am however, turned off by save file deletion... even if it's integral to the story. It may even make a play through more memorable, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I'll probably give it a go someday when I have more time.
Playing Wonder now. I honestly don't know why it's so highly rated. It almost feels like a yoshi game. Very cute and easy with pretty linear levels. I miss the days Mario 3 and Mario World, where levels felt more exploratory with hidden things to be found. I think they focused too much on "personality" and not enough on level design.
Cup is good pre-order item. Something useful. The acrylic thing is just waste. School supply type items would be perfect pre-order bonuses. Themed notebook, or pen/pencils or pencil case. That sort of thing.
Mario World, with Mario 3 in a very close 2nd place. Mario Maker 2 could potentially replace them, as you could basically have then both in one game. I started with the original, but 3 and World are magical.
@Daggot that's funny you mention not remembering finishing the novel. I have some kind of issue, where I can't remember the endings of movies/shows/books etc. I definitely finished plenty, but I couldn't tell you how anything ever wrapped up.
@WheresWaveRace I had already beaten BotW on switch, and then I played it on PC to try out the Linkle mod. It's very cool. Anyway, there are plenty of reasons. A lot of people have purchased games and just enjoy messing with them or trying them on different hardware etc etc. it's genuinely a hobby that people are clearly passionate about or they wouldn't take the time and effort in the first place. Some people have blazing top of the line hardware and want to play in 4k with all sorts of effects. I'm in the opposite end. I like to see de-makes, and how games can be stripped down to play on the weakest hardware possible.
@tameshiyaku this 100%. Making classic games on the Switch, into a subscription service was the biggest disrespect to Nintendo fans. I've already purchased these older games several times in both physical and e-shop forms. Heck, I probably would have begrudgingly purchased them again on Switch. But I'm sure as hell not paying a subscription to access them. Emulation is fully justified. I don't even want to purchase new switch games anymore because of Nintendo's behavior over the years.
I'll probably pick this up. I thought Moomin was a Japanese thing for a long time, as I first encounter them in Japan. And they fit right in with all the other cute characters and things from Japan. I didn't bother to look into it, so it was years later that I finally found out it's from Finland. Now I'm interested to get the books and this game.
Huge Mario fan, big Lego fan, but the Mario sets.... Just don't like them. They use too many weird proprietary pieces. They should have gone the nom.al route. Like HP or Minecraft for example, were only little swords and minifig heads are special. But the sets are made from regular pieces. The only Mario sets we buy are the little mystery boxes that goomba or turtles or whatever. Those are quite fun.
@Zidentia Dragon Warrior was also my first RPG! We actually received it free from Nintendo Power magazine. I was too young and didn't really understand it at first but watched my brother play. Then I got the hang of it and would run home after school every day to try to further my quest. As an adult, a couple of things surprise me. That a magazine sent a free game. And that we even had a subscription back in the day! At that point I think we had a total of 3 games; Mario Bros, Mario 3, and Tetris.
@Kimyonaakuma I still think New Leaf was the pinnacle of the series. New Horizons just feels lackluster somehow. I do like terra forming, but the music is the worst, and many other issues too.
@OctolingKing13 I haven't bought any of the Mario sets, as I don't care for them. But my family has purchased quite a few of those small mario mystery boxes. They're awesome, with goomba or turtles, all manner of cool little kits. I did purchase the AC sets, but I'd love little mystery boxes in the same style of the Mario ones.
@kepsux don't give them any ideas! Hopefully soon emulators make a real comeback. Developers need to hide their identity and host emulators outside of Japan and the USA. They're not even illegal, but Nintendo has enough money and power to ruin lives if one tried to defend themselves.
The sad thing is, if If one tried to tackle life with great energy and enthusiasm, they won't get anywhere. Others don't react well, and will quickly alienate such a person.
@Lofoten that Lego nes with tv set is one of the coolest of all time. It's expensive though... One day I might have to pick up it while it's still available at MSRP.
@Poodlestargenerica I bet it's more of the weird pieces. I wish they'd just make them with normal pieces. Special colors is the most I'll tolerate. I got some of those "Lego friends" series sets for the special colors but the minifigs are horrendous!
@Daimando huge fan of GOG. And if one likes, they could said installers to DVD and print up some cover art. In fact that sounds like a nice little summer project.
@Matl my brother and I also wanted the space sets and there was some artic something or rather with a lot of white and orange pieces that was cool. We also wanted the castle sets but could never afford them. These days, as boring as it seems, the only generic theme that seems good is the city theme. I too am tired of every set being licensed.
@AlienigenX free speech is amazing. But apparently Nintendolife don't think so lol. I can't even read what the comments were, that you replied to. I ordered all 5 sets as I'm both a Lego and AC fan. Though the sets don't look that great to be honest.
@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot it's typical generic jrpg stuff. So so many generic games where they just re-use boring old game engines (with floaty physics and where characters don't even really interact with the environment and everything is bland) and then rely entirely on cute character art so the otakus will buy.
