Re: Talking Point: Does Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Rollout Of Event Updates Make It Feel 'Incomplete'?

Mr-Glissando

I'll admit right now that this is the first Animal Crossing game that I've invested a significant amount of time into. So far, when (I'm in the mood for it) this game's a gem. (bar the lurching framerate everytime I get ambitious with a building project) They REALLY need to patch that as its no fun zipping through my Chinese restaurant and market area, as the framerate drops and stutters around the low twenties!

It IS off putting that I'm having to simplify everything! Especially considering a large draw of the game is letting us, the player allegedly get creative. Please patch it Nintendo!

I'd also HAPPILY drop good money on potential pilotwings, or Waverace DLC! As they'd both fit into this game perfectly I feel.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Players Discover '4th Level' Glitch Workaround

Mr-Glissando

@Snesionetty

Cheers for your reply.

My issues have started out minimal, and are now spreading like a erm....bad framerate Pandemic!

Framerate-19....As that's about the number of frames my copy of ACNH is now currently running at!

They seriously, seriously need an upgrade at this point! Especially with PS5 and Xbox series X channel, now looming large on the horizon!

I'd genuinely hate to see the Switch suddenly fall after all its achieved. I love them... but they're really pushing all my wrong buttons as a loyal customer at this point.

Sadly though, Nintendo being Nintendo will probably quite happily sit on their arses till their sales figures plummet!

They need to seriously be working on beefier hardware at this point (PS4 Pro spec equivalent, would be more than enough for me personally) they also DEFINITELY need more memory and ram on board regarding any future upgrade as well! (Let alone the drift issue)

Swich= Great hybrid console... Piss poor build quality though!

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Players Discover '4th Level' Glitch Workaround

Mr-Glissando

Sorry. Not really relevant to this post, but...

Is anybody else suffering from absolutely horrendous framerate issues, regarding this game? I bulid something... BOOM! Framerate drops like a stone.

Seriously Nintendo! First Joycon drift, and now my island is clanking to a near 20fps halt with nothing really taxing going on!! It's 2020! I've seen ganes running better and more consistent on hardware from 3 generations ago!

Loved you as a video game creative company all of my life! I also own pretty much every piece of hardware you've ever released.

Know this though... I won't be ***** purchasing anymore from you though, if I have to buy yet ANOTHER pair of Joycons! (3rd pair now)

Seriously... Patch the framerate up please. As its simply beginning to border on the side of unplayable now!

Oh yeah... Where's the games this year?

Cheers.

A loyal Nintendo (yet unbiased) fan

Re: Animal Crossing Fans Left Upset After Nintendo Patches Out Neat Camera Trick

Mr-Glissando

Can't STAND the fact that you can't just select a number of items you want to craft! Random example.. Build some 'hot items' to sell. Say you're building a wooden mini table to sell for double the bells, so you've literally got enough wood on you to make 20 pieces. Surely they could implement a menu that says...

'How many wooden mini tables would you like to build?'

Type in 20,and 'select...'

He then simply goes through the 10 second animation of him crafting it, then it's simply a case of heading over to the Nook slaves to sell your 20 hot items. Instead you have to build every single one of them individually! Terribly bad design there!

Also, they need to sort the frame rate out! when I've constructed complex areas then ran through them later on, the frametates practically groud to a halt.

As for why our tools haven't got a little grafts over them just so we know when to customise them, or prepare to build a new one completely.

Re: Review: Pilotwings - 16-bit Flight Simulation, The Nintendo Way

Mr-Glissando

I was luckily enough to be unexpectedly bundled with this game as soon as I received my Super Famicom, waaaay back in December 1990. (import backlog made the system and its launch games near impossible to get in the November)

Reviewing this game now I simply feel is a pretty futile, meaningless and a bit of irrelevant exercise in all honesty. This game just screamed out pure Nintendo, just like Super Mario World and F-Zero did just a month before previously.

Yeah, people could argue that this game, alongside F-zero, were simply nothing more than just tech demos for their new hardware. In a way, yeah looking back, they're probably right. Granted neither Pilotwings nor F-Zero held a candle in the depth department compared to Super Mario World! That game's still Incredible to this day gameplay wise.

I'll just say it right here, right now. That myself and pretty much EVERYBODY I knew (including hardcore Sega fans) adored Pilotwings! It's tranquility was a breath of fresh air (forgive the unintentional pun)

It's not about how it looks and plays today! (It plays fine yo be honest, but that not the point) Pilotwings was simply about the unparalleled experience that was available back over that snowy Christmas of 1990.

A genuine exciting time of game and hardware experimentation, very rarely seen nowadays or implemented in today's modern game development, unfortunately.

I'm just glad to say I was there to appreciate it for what it was. I still to this day own that Super Famicom and the aforementioned games I imported nearly 30 years ago. And yes, I still to this day fire up pilotwings now and again! That music hasn't aged a day.

I still miss the innovation they used to conter the limited hardware available to them at the time, and were playing with and developing for.

Maybe I'm just getting old? (42) but I'll just say right now, Pilotwings always had, and always will own a little piece of my heart.

Re: Random: These Tiny Switch Cases Are Adorable, Easily Lost

Mr-Glissando

Boooo they're a bit environmentally friendly! I want a couple of AES/MVS Neo Geo cartridge box's to store single switch games in! 😂 😂 (I've actually got some in the other room!) might covert my Last Blade 2 box later on for Smash Brothers Ultimate.

In all seriousness though, I like these diddy cases. Let's be honest here. The current official Nintendo Switch boxes are a touch impractical size wise. Well they are now I've seen these at least.

Re: Feature: The Making Of Streets Of Rage 4, By The People Who Made It Happen

Mr-Glissando

If they revamp Revenge of Shinobi to the same levels of SoR4 (hell, do the whole Shinobi series!) I'll DEFINITELY be purchasing on day one!

After reading that I'm super hopeful now for it! Plus, there's a little graffiti based easter egg image on a pipe in the background of the underground sewer stage, of Joe Musashi adorning his white Revenge of Shinobi ninja threads!

Needs to happen.

Re: Konami Just Surprise-Launched A Brand New Action Platformer On Switch

Mr-Glissando

@tourjeff

Sir, we definitely park our cars in the same garage when it comes to game tastes! Completely agree on the fact that Blue Storm, somehow just missing that 'vibe' and handling that was presente in the superior N64 game

All of those long forgotten Nintendo I.P's and franchises you mentioned, are EXACTLY the same games I want to see resurrected! (not so much Cruise'n for me personally) but F-Zero... WHAT are they doing regarding it?! The fans (myself included) are literally chomping at the bit for a new F-Zero game!

They're telling us they can't take the franchise "any further" Bollocks! So some of the most creative minds in the whole of the video gaming industry, that they simply can't think of some fresh ideas to implement into their wonderful futuristic hover car racer? In this day and age as well! I simply don't understand why they've tossed this franchise onto the scrapheap? (possibly sales related)

I'll have an F-Zero brainstorm then shall I...

For a start... You could implement customisable crafts, characters, tracks (especially the track editor part)

Deformable terrain, ie the track could extend out into space or be even set on a distant colony, or an industrial space cruiser. Imagine meteorite storms bombarding and instantly knocking out or damaging parts of the track, thus forcing the player to be adapting and being constantly on top of their game! Different gravity's could effect your crafts weigh, as in the background the Starfox team take on enemy forces.

A selectable weapons system mode (think Mario Kart, but obviously done in an F-Zero style way)

A possible story mode where captain Falcon can go out and track down bountys. This could play out in a futuristic Mute city/GTA style sandbox world (obviously it would be a lot smaller in scale than a full fat GTA game though) the credits obtained when the bountys are turned in, could them be spent on parts for your craft and on alien prostitutes.

Last but not least.... Online mode!

There's just a few ideas for a new F-Zero.

Re: Random: Brighten Your Day With This Glorious Animal Crossing Tom Nook Cake

Mr-Glissando

@BabyYoshi65

😂😂 I've just read the link!

Frankly I'm so shocked I can't even continue watching my snuff movie!!! I dislike Tom Nook even more now! Hanging about with mere whippersnappers that aren't even related to him. Not to mention he's got them grafting in the Cranny from 8am till 10pm!

He just needs a tracksuit, a cigar, copious amounts of jewellery and a blonde wig = Jimmy Nookvile 😂😂

I for one FULLY expect Nintendo to patch in an angry Simpsons style mob of animals appearing en masse to burn down the town hall! Thus resulting in Nook being dragged out and publicly hung in the main square plaza in front of a baying mob!

SHOCKED!!! FUMIN!!!

Re: Game Featuring Nudity And Sexual Content Launches On Switch With 'E For Everyone' Rating

Mr-Glissando

So what exactly is the difference between a ten year old sitting down and very graphically murdering their way through a game like GTAV or Doom Eternal etc, compared to this game? I very much doubt there's hardcore Golden Showers and Boston pancakes contained within its code, so no harm done really 😂😂.

I fully expect some fat, bean juice stained compo face benefits sponge somewhere, will go on to claim its turned all 15 of her children into raving sexaul deviants after been subjected to its wicked, wicked influence for just under an hour! Of course a years supply of Benny Hedges, scratchcards and a cool 100k will make the case against the certification people's mistake.... simply disappear.

Got to admit though this sort of thing is fecking funny though!

Re: Nintendo Sold 4.2 Million Switch Consoles In March Alone

Mr-Glissando

@garuzary

I VERY vaguely remember Odyssey2 on the Colecovision. So I can't really comment as I don't remember it enough to respond in full sadly.

Yes, I'm in England chap, and yes the looting has materialised in small pockets over on this side of the pond as well unfortunately! I won't go too much into it though as its not really relevant on a computer game page. Plus I'll only end up get myself hoofed out of this group if I do!

My bitesize views on these scumbag 'protesters' though is this, they're simply looters mearly marauding under the guise of "protesters"

They're not bothered one ***** iota about the unfortunate Mr Floyd, who was indeed murdered!

To the looting savages out there mindlessly destroying other people's livelihoods, this is simply an excuse to gain some free electrical goods and clothing on their parts! Bottom line is they're simply too ***** lazy to go out and work for these things like the rest of us have to.

Peace to you you too my friend! Stay safe chap 👍👍

Re: Random: Brighten Your Day With This Glorious Animal Crossing Tom Nook Cake

Mr-Glissando

Christ on a Caribbean cruise! I despise Nook and his pair of bumbling crotch goblins!

Hopefully it screams like Hendrix's guitar on the high notes as you slice into it! Of course that million octave, Edvard Munch type scream would be automatically followed a nanosecond later by a additional, albeit much quieter scream omitted from little Timmy 'runt of the litter' Nook!

Rabid! The three of em! 😂 😂

Re: Sega's Game Gear Micro Was Originally Going To Be Even More Stingy

Mr-Glissando

Damn you Sega/Sammy Corporation and your tiny digital nuggets of 4 game disappointment!

Please redeem yourselves by releasing a bundled package containing both the original arcade version of Sega Rally Championship, and its Japanese Saturn version on Switch. That move would literally make me happier than the preverbial swine in excrement!

Bonus points would be further awarded for a graphically updated arcade port as well. Few new tracks, Kenneth Ibrahim narrating again, that sort of thing. Just leave its core gameplay and music fully in tact though as they simply don't need tinkering with! After all they're pretty much the essence of what makes the game still (in my humble eyes at least) one of the greatest, most thrilling, and ultimately, compelling racing experiences ever conceived!

Even today 26 years after its initial arcade release, I STILL find myself having the occasional week long time attack bender on my Jap Saturn version.

While you're at it, a Shinobi bundle and reboot of the franchise wouldn't hurt either. (that includes the awesome chip tune music from Yuzo Koshiro as well!)

"Game over YEAH"! Bubabadissssssh

Re: Nintendo Sold 4.2 Million Switch Consoles In March Alone

Mr-Glissando

@garuzary

😂 😂 Not at all.

I'd just have liked to have had the opportunity to purchase all of their greatest hits stuffed into a tiny emulated box, (or three) paid for it, then cried happy tears as I tried to shave yet another nanosecond off the desert stage of Sega Rally Championship 1994.

At least a one and half inch screen version of Sonic should suffice 😂😂🤔😡

I remember Nintendo pulled a similar stunt like this years ago with some ridiculously tiny game boy type contraption.

From what I recall it didn't go down to well.

I've no doubt the Game Gear Micro will probably do very well in Japan as they mostly dig that whole "cute" vibe and culture.

Over here though, (IF.. indeed it's even released in the west?) I think it's incredibly unlikely to succeed after the brief and limited novelty erodes.

So shares wise, me personally I'll probably just opt safe and put my money down on a new Atari system 😂😂

Re: Nintendo Sold 4.2 Million Switch Consoles In March Alone

Mr-Glissando

@Quix

Erm yeah. I've already admitted to my posting faux pas about 50 odd comments ago!

As for "blind rage" not whatsoever! I'm 42 years old. So I'll just have me little verbal tirade on here, annnd simply not purchase any of them😂😉

Shame though, as it just seems like a real missed opportunity.

Re: Konami Just Surprise-Launched A Brand New Action Platformer On Switch

Mr-Glissando

@COVIDberry and @tourjeff Me fellow Wave Race 64 brethrens.

That game was a near masterpiece in my eyes. Shame about the 'sequel' though! (well Blue Storm's actually the third game I'm the franchise, due to the 1992 Game Boy Wave Race) Blue Storm wasn't necessarily a bad game as such, but its handling felt way off and it just completely lacked "the feels", music, and just general experience of Wave Race 64.

Definitely needs a reboot though! And where the hell's a new FZero?! 17 YEARS since Sega's Amusement Vision (of all people) dropped the Superb FZero GX on us!

Sort it out Nintendo! (or Sega even)

Re: SteamDolls Is An Upcoming Metroidvania Starring The Voice Of Solid Snake

Mr-Glissando

I think the world would simply become unravelled into a mass spaghettiforcation before ultimately being dragged into a testosterone fuelled black hole, if David Hayter teamed up with Logan Cunningham (the excellent gravel voiced, film noir type narrator from Transistor and Bastion) on a project.

David Hayter's an absolute living legend! No doubt about it. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more from both of them! Anyone unfamiliar with Logan Cunninghams voice over work, seriously, give him a listen! He's very good.

Re: Konami Just Surprise-Launched A Brand New Action Platformer On Switch

Mr-Glissando

Konami! They're still going?

Only they don't really seem to produce much nowadays sadly. A faaaar cry from the company's heyday back in the early 1990's, before a chunk of them spilt away to form Treasure.

Company either needs to sell its remaining I.P's, or be brought out by a rival (Nintendo could do some truly amazing things with Castlevania!)

Christ knows who'd end up with the MGS franchise? Ideally though I'd kind of like it to go almost full circle and end up back in Kojima's hands. And for the love of Vic Viper, get David Hayter back in as the voice of Snake! He IS Snake! No ifs, no buts.

Speaking of Treasure....

Re: Sega's Game Gear Micro Was Originally Going To Be Even More Stingy

Mr-Glissando

Wow! Talk about a missed opportunity!

Seriously if they carry on like this I can unfortunately see Sega leaving the hardware race, being snatched up by Sammy Corporation in 2004, then, ultimately just languishing in digital purgatory like an empty husk of the fantastic company they once were.

WHAT!?... Oh!

Seriously though, who's actually asked for this? I can't imagine even the most hardcore Sega fans (myself included) not being interested one iota in this product.

I mean what lollipops at the Sega/Sammy HQ have sat down and went... "Hmmm what do our fans want? How do we celebrate our 60th anniversary of a company(s)? How about a Saturn or Dreamcast Mini? Even better! How about a Mini console shaped like one of our various arcade boards? You know, something like a Model2, a NAOMI2, a Triforce board, or even a ST-V board? On those we could pack them out with all of our greatest arcade hits of yesteryear! You know.... games like, The Virtua Fighter series, the Outrun series, the Shinobi series, the Daytona series, the Sega Rally series (frankly, just the original's worth the asking price alone!) Scud Race, Outrigger, FZero GX, Afterburner, Operation Thunderbolt, Virtua Racing, Golden Axe, ESWAT ..... Orrrrrrrrrr we can save ourselves the hassle and just bang out a Mini Game Gear with only four games on it, then all go and get extremely drunk at a karaoke bar, all in a desperate attempt to cop off with women dressed in Sailor Moon outfits....

All those in favour of releasing a Mini Game Gear with just four games on it and getting drunk in an underground dark and dank Karaoke bar, all in a futile attempt to cop off with women adorning Sailor Moon outfits"?

unanimous and rapid hand raising for drunken karaoke and potential cos play women love]

If Sega would have gone down the Mini Saturn, Dreamcast or even the arcade board emulation system route.... I'd now happily be ordering all Three! Oh well.

Criminal waste of anticipation!

Here's to their 70th though! Maybe we'll get a Mini Master Sytem with half of an Alex Kid game built in.

I genuinely hope this isn't the 'exclusive' Sega news that most of us have been anticipating for the last week and a half! If it is then talk about an anticlimax.

To be this disappointed truly takes AGES.

Re: Japanese Charts: Animal Crossing Still Dominates As Switch Takes Nine Of Top Ten

Mr-Glissando

Wow! That's some sales alright.

Well, I guess the 'expert' doom mongerers who were all adamantly predicting just four short years ago, that Nintendo were DEFINITELY going to "do a sega" and quit the hardware race, after the not so stellar WiiU sales must be really enjoying a rather considerably large slice of humble pie right about now.

To be fair I'm looking forward to all of the next gen consoles from the big Three. I've definitely got a niggling feeling that Sony simply aren't going to homerun it so easy this time around though! Microsoft definitely look like they've they've learnt a considerable amount for this upcoming next gen battle, especially considering their last generation 'thrashing'

More importantly though, I'm 100% definitely interested in where Nintendo are going next with the Switch family though? More graphical horsepower is pretty much a given, it has to be against Series X and PS5.

Don't get me wrong here, we're definitely not going to see a Switch Pro model coming anywhere near the aforementioned hardware specs of Sony and Microsofts offerings. But if Nintendo can produce an improved Switch that's in the same ballpark as a PS4 Pro, then me, personally, I'd be more than happy at that. Anything else after that would simply be a nice bonus.

Saying that this is Nintendo we're talking about. So they'll probably just skip the graphical upgrades and concentrate on a brand new innovative way that we can all play simply by using the power of our brainwaves alone. Failing that, a new foot, genital or pancreas powered controller could be in development as we speak! 😂🦶🦶

AND they'll probably be looking into a way to incorporate our pets into enjoying gaming as well.

Colour me intrigued.

Re: Four Unannounced Nintendo Games Potentially Teased By New Amazon Listings

Mr-Glissando

Personally I think 'we've' (OK, just me then?) all been wanting faaaar too long for a new FZero! Hell, get in the permataned, original mid life crisis in the form of Toshihiro Nagoshi. His now sadly defunct AV team did an absolutely sterling job 17 years ago with Nintendo's futuristic IP! I mean after all, their shot at the FZero title was easily one of the best entries into the franchise with FZero GX. It was very probably an extremely close second on the podium after the sublime original.

Failing that why not bring in Testuya Mizuguchi to refresh the franchise? What, after both the Suberb Sega Rally and Rez and various other titles under his techno dance belt, I'm extremely confident he can teach the rusting and criminally neglected Blue Falcon and the captain some new tricks. Imagine Mute City with Mizuguchi's audio-visual trippy pyrotechnics applied!

Dream scenario... get them both in! (which, definitely will never happen unfortunately)

But seriously, for the love of Yoshi's adopted step son. Nintendo just do SOMETHING with the franchise! Anything! There's an absolute ***** load of ideas I can think of that could be implemented into a new FZero! So if I can, how come nobody at Nintendo can?

Also Wave Race 64 needs a genuine follow up! Blue Storm was OK, but it definitely lost some of its lustre after the N64 'original' (to me at least)

1080 Snowboarding as well! (NEVER happen sadly, as the freelance team involved are all long disbanded) but one can dream.

Last but not least... Pilotwings. Another one of their IP's that's not gotten properly off the off the ground (pun fully intended) in nearly 24 years!!! Yes, unfortunately I'm hankering after the "golden age" of video gaming and my long gone youth a tad too much here admittedly. But all of the aforementioned IP's SURELY have got some life in them?

Food for though.

Re: Random: Every Nintendo 64 Game Ever Released Would Fit Onto A Single Switch Cartridge

Mr-Glissando

About 20 N64 games maximum that are actually worth playing. The rest of the space I'd just fill with the wonderful Wave Race 64 music. That and a generous dollop of cheerleading lesbian porn.

Bet the aforementioned cheerleading lesbians are, indeed extremely grateful that their potential lesbian partners don't taste like switch cartridges!

(licked one once to see if they were as bitter as Nintendo claimed they were)

Won't be doing that again!

In other news. Princess of Hearts remains officially dead after 23 years.

Re: Streets Of Rage 4's Dotemu Is Working On Three Unannounced Projects

Mr-Glissando

I said in my last comment EDGE would go on to give it an 8 out of 10.

SoR4 fully deserved it as well to be fair. I'm diving back in and out of it on a regular basis. Granted the game doesn't reinvent the wheel, but who's asking it to? What it does do however , and does do well is offer up a sublime slice of yesteryear gaming.

Couple that with the fact it's arrived looking super slick, as it enters the party decked out in a eye catching new suit. The music on the China Town and Art Gallery stages are right up there with the series's finest! I'm definitely 100% down for some DLC or even possible sequel(s). Sadly I don't get "the feels" so much anymore these days in gaming. So I'm glad this one arrived and made me simultaneously, grin from ear to ear, nod my head to impressive tunage, all whilst stirring up those elusive gaming goosebumps from a long gone era before the age of polygons ruling supreme.

My pick for their next project has to be Revenge of Shinobi! ESPECIALLY if they get Koshiro-San back on board for the lions share, if not all the of the project. In fact reboot the whole the Shinobi I P!

Also, as others have suggested on this thread, Gunstar Hero's would be awesome as well! Sadly that's unlikely though as Treasure have been missing in action for years from the game development business (does anybody know what happened to them?) I've scowled the Internet relentlessly over the last few years in the vain hope of a new Treasure game being developed, albeit, to no success unfortunately!

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing what they could do in a joint venture with SNK. A new Nam 1975 perhaps?

Re: Switch Joy-Con Drift Claim Must Be Arbitrated, Says Illinois Federal Court

Mr-Glissando

I've owned virtually every piece of hardware they've ever put onto the market.

Yet this drifting issue has really infuriated me! First pair from my launch switch went after about 14 months! Second pair are now unplayable also! I've got the money to buy another pair tomorrow, not a problem! However the problem (to me at Least) is the general principal of having to shell out for yet another pair of inferior and flawed joy con's, that will in time inevitably start drifting again at some stage down the line!

So Nintendo's response is basically "***** the people who actually buy our products! They're simply not relevant here" the very minimum they should be doing is replacing them! They should also be working on a permanent fix for the issue instead of just pumping out more flawed controllers on to the market!

I've made my mind up basically now, if they're not going to repair the replacement pair I've already had to spend extra fiscal on, well, put simply I'll simply take my money elsewhere! ***** am I being treated like a mug after purchasing most of their hardware and software for most of my life! Granted its hardly going to give Nintendo sleepless nights if I don't spend my money on their products anymore, but as a company they should be valuing their customers. I remember getting the red ring of death on my first xbox 360 way back when. Not only did Microsoft come out and collect the unit, repair it free of charge, they also bundled me with a free joypad and game for my inconvenience! (take notice Nintendo!)

Disgusting behaviour from Nintendo, regarding this issue I'm afraid.
