@Kaze_Memaryu I agree but i don't think the Germans will. They have stricter rules in general and some unique restrictions like no swastika's or other nazi symbols.
Currently playing DKCR 3D.. if you haven't already, buy it now! Plays much better than the Wii version because that was seriously gimped by the control scheme.
So basicaly they want to diversify their business model to be less dependent on the fickle gaming market. Smart move if it works out and it will be interesting to see what they come up with
@Yorumi True. The NES used old-fashioned technology with a very lowly CPU when it was released but they cleverly engineered it to get a maximum performance to cost ratio. The Super NES was much the same, the Sega Megadrive had superior hardware but the SNES beat it nonetheless. Gameboy vs. Gamegear? Same thing.
Firing Iwata wont solve anything. And the majority of shares are held by the Yamauchi family so the shareholders won't revolt and force him out either.
Methinks that the only reason they picked Windwaker HD is that it was the easiest one to do in terms of time and resources. They needed something good and substantial to fill the release schedule but most of all they needed it fast.
BTW: those 30 cent Virtual Console games certainly helped me get through the Wii U drought. Like I finally managed to get into Super Metroid and actually finish it.
Yeah! The best bits of Soul Calibur II (ie Link) in a HD setting, i love it. To the naysayers: this is a very early demo so don't expect slick graphics. they are probably using "placeholder" models and textures from Skyward Sword
And it certainly is a system seller.. I had one of my co-workers over at my house last week and he just couldn't stop playing it. He's a long-time Sony fan but at the end of the evening he said that he was going to buy a Wii U now and not bother with a PS4 for at least another year.
@Rafie Killer Instinct, like Conker's Bad fur Day and Perfect Dark, has always been the intellectual property of Rare (and Midway if i remember correctly) so Nintendo really had no say in the matter.
Excellent article that clearly outlines why Nintendo should never dilute their brand value with sub-standard phone games. A long term vision instead of short term gains is the Nintendo way and the right way.
Who knows if the Wii U will still be supported by Nintendo in 12 months, it's not looking the best is it.
Now that's just silly. Nintendo will never abandon the Wii U just like that, that's an incredibly stupid thing to do and won't have any upside at all. They can still make plenty of money on the software sales even if it "fails". Contrary to popular misconceptions, the console war is not a winner takes all contest.
As if the people who want the new Mario are the same people who want a new PS4. Sure there will be some overlap but even then they are not mutually exclusive
Street prices are already trending towards a 200 UKP / 250 euro level for a 32Gb bundle and there are some excellent deals with extra games or controllers. If you are after value for money, the Nintendo Wii U is the console to buy right now.
PS4 sales will plummet next week because they're all sold out and the software attach rate will probably be terrible until well into next year. I noticed the local retailers haven't assigned any shelf space to PS4 software yet... they know who is buttering their bread this Christmas. Hint: it's a handheld that was dismissed by the internets when it was first announced.

Obviously, there needs to be just one ratings agency for the whole EU.

@Dogpigfish They probably have to sell to pay the taxman. This is usually the case when someone inherits a substantial amount

Short and to the point but i quite like it.
Re: Legend of Zelda: Iron Knuckle Encounter Goes to LEGO Cuusoo Review
Copyright or licensing isn't the problem; Kinex did a Mario Kart series of products
Re: Legend of Zelda: Iron Knuckle Encounter Goes to LEGO Cuusoo Review
Those earlier Zelda set propopals failed because they would need to many custom moulded pieces == too expensive.

Re: Iwata And Miyamoto Both Take Pay Cuts In Response To Nintendo's Poor Financial Results
This is not an empty gesture. In Japan, the salary for these kinds of top positions is much less than in the US.
Re: Video: This Senran Kagura Burst Euro Trailer Will Put A Spring In Your Step
I'm guessing US retailers would not dare to stock it
Re: Weirdness: These Tombstones for Fallen Characters Show The Horrors of Nintendo Gaming
cute but i have a concern... Bowser - or any other enemy in the Mushroom Kingdom - never really dies. He gets stomped, not killed.

This happens far too often and it's sickening... the dev team delivers the product and gets dissolved. The money counters always survive.

Yep, Super Metroid is also my euh... prime nomination for a re-imagination
Re: Lift in Chinese Console Ban and Market Fluctuations Contribute to Sizeable Nintendo Stock Increase
Nintendo has a big advantage here thanks to the iQue partnership. I hope they can translate that headstart into a healthy share of the huge market.
