This is just strange to me. Nintendo drops a single new game for N64 since the service started, with only one per month being the most likely plan. Then they just....put 5 more Sega games on there out of nowhere. I don't understand this at all.
I hope a lot of people try out the demo. I never played the series on the Master System, but the remaster of The Dragon's Trap and especially this game have been excellent experiences. I admit that the game does start off a bit slow, but once you have a few of the animal transformations at your disposal, it gets really good.
Also has a great soundtrack, featuring old tunes remixed and some new ones as well.
It's one thing to release 2 separate collections, but to release them at the same exact time? I suppose expecting anything else was futile. I'll still get both collections, though, since I've never played X7 or X8 and having X4-6 in a more convenient place would be neat.
Honestly, I'd just be happy if they added Mega Man 9 & 10 to the eshop. It would also be nice to have 8 as a VC release, if there's even a way to make that work somehow. After all this time, a new game seems like quite a hefty thing to hope for. I would love to see one, of course.
I love the idea of a Mega Man 3DS theme, and I really wanted to like these, but I'm not a fan of the music selection. Not the songs I was expecting at all. I'll still probably end up using them anyway, just because they are there.
I certainly hope there's DLC. We already have plenty of objects to play around with, but there's also a lot missing, too. Slopes are a big missing item, of course, but I'd also like to see access to false walls and floors, adding water near the bottom of the screen without it being a pure swimming level, and more power ups. There's tons more that they could add as well.
I love remakes. Gives me a good reason to play through great games again. Usually they look/play better than the original version, too. That isn't to say the originals aren't great, but playing them with new visuals and/or features is a big bonus. As long as remakes aren't being released INSTEAD of new games, I see no problem.
Reading the comments on here, I think some people missed the part about it being 20 in. tall. This is not the action figure sized Link that Jakks Pacific already released. I have the 20 in. Mario they made, and it works well as display piece. Not very poseable, but it looks good. I may be interested in this 20 in. Link, but we'll see.
I'd love the Super Famicom version of Mega Man & Bass, but I'm still very interested in downloading the GBA version. Then I won't have to pull out my DS Lite to play the cartridge like I never feel like doing.
This is a very welcome update. I always felt the selection wasn't too good for 8-player stages, but now it's a bit better at least. There's some more good ones that I'll be visting with my amiibo fighters now.
Mine was cancelled and I never even received an email. So not only am I out the version of the system I wanted the most, I don't even get the $50 discount. Why Best Buy.....why....
I'm rather surprised on the quality of the Ike amiibo. It looks good, assuming that's the final product. Shulk's face looks a bit...eh....but the rest of him looks ok. Definitely getting Toon Link, Bowser, Mega Man, and Ike. I'll think about Shulk and possibly Dedede in the future.
It seems most people here are all ones who need a code, rather than people WITH codes. Still really want an NA code...........pretty please with a cherry on top. [email protected]
I love the way the rest area looks. I wonder if the recovery items you get are random this time, or you just don't get three Heart Containers. A Maxim Tomato, Fairy Bottle, and possibly a Heart Container? Interesting.
I'm still not convinced this is the starting roster. Characters like Pac-Man and Mega Man are almost certainly unlockable, as well as a few others shown here.
The Mega Man pic was one of the highlights for me this week. It's great he put Beat in there, and one of the lesser known weapons as an alternative to Leaf Shield. I hope more weapons are available in his custom moves.
And even though I already saw it at Smash Fest and in the various Smash videos I've watched, I love that the red and white Rush colors were added as one of his pallet swaps. It looks soooooooo good.
Why are you referring to Meta Knight as "it"? At any rate, it's good to see him back even though there should have been no doubts from anyone about his return. And as @DestinyMan mentioned (EDIT: Also @SockoMario), we have known about the Halberd stage returning since the Smash Direct.
I've always enjoyed this one. It has some good tunes and the Rush Adaptors are fun to mess with. It also has better Special Weapons than 5, but there are still a couple duds. I've never understood the hate for the Robot Masters, though. What's wrong with them exactly? I look at them and don't see anything bad. Them being based on different nationalities is also pretty neat.
I never considered this one to be among the best in the series, but it's still a good game. The Special Weapons are mostly terrible, there is little enemy variety, Rush Coil was unnecessarily changed, 1-ups are extremely common, and I feel the music isn't quite as good as other entries in the series. There are a few good songs, but mostly it's not too memorable. Some nice stage features are present, like the gravity changes in Gravity Man's stage, and the stages have a good overall feel to them. There's plenty I don't like about this one, but again, it is still a good game and worth playing if you enjoy the series.
This is great to hear. I have the game on Steam, but never really had the urge to play it much. Having it on Wii U or 3DS, two things I use more often than Steam, might get me to play it more. It's a quality title with difficulty to match it's retro appearance. Any fans of the AVGN episodes should get a kick out of it especially since it features numerous references to said episodes.
This is great news, indeed. Despite owning a copy of Mega Man 7, I may get it anyway so I can have it in another form. I haven't played the SNES version of X3 much, so I'll definitely be getting that. I do like the music in the PS1 port better, though.
Now we just have to wait for Mega Man & Bass on GBA, but I'd much rather have the Super Famicom version. I'll still get the GBA version, of course.
I enjoyed this way more than I should have. It's just so satisfying to see yourself roll right past someone in the highlight reels. The song is also surprisingly appropriate.
These look a bit unpolished. The M and L on the Mario and Luigi ones aren't even in the correct font style. They should look exactly the same as the letters featured on the bros' hats. And generic fireball images? Why not stick a picture of the characters on there, or their face or moustache? Also, since when has Princess Peach been symbolized be the letter P in a circle? Don't even get me started on that "Yoshi" one.
I don't own a Pro controller, but if I did these wouldn't interest me.
@SockoMario THANK YOU! I was thinking all of this pretty much on the dot while reading the comments. The roster can't be devoid of staple characters, nor can it be 90% newcomers. And nothing is wrong with Diddy, he's a major character who deserved to come back as much as anyone else.
@Lance168: This in no way prevents Mewtwo from coming back, or a new Pokemon character from being included. You are absolutely right, we could have all 3. I'm still hoping for Mewtwo as well, and it's still entirely possible for them to both be there. Lucario had only small elements from Mewtwo's moveset, so there's no reason they couldn't be different.
Battle for Bikini Bottom and the Spongebob Movie game are both great, with the former being one of my favorite Gamecube titles I own. Despite the somewhat similar plot involving robots, this one doesn't sound nearly as good. BFBB will always be king.
After having played the console version beforehand, the demo of this was terrible. No jumping, Hulk sounds awful, sliding on the touchscreen to fly and land, and you can't even switch characters at all. Only one playable character can be on screen, while the other can come in and do a support attack every now and then. I found no way to switch between the characters I was given. Also, you can actually die for real in this version, instead of just reappearing where you were before. This forces you to restart the level. Can't say I recommend this, especially when compared to the console version.
I was actually saving 800 points specifically to get this, but ended up downloading DKC 3 instead because i thought it would never get on the VC. Have the X-Collection on Gamecube, so it's not a huge deal. Still, nice to see it made it.
This doesn't bother me at all. Even after all the times I've played through OoT, I want to do the original quest first to test out the new visuals and get a feel for the controls. It's what I always planned to do whether the Master Quest was available from the start or not.
Zombies? 5 vs. 5 multiplayer? Online co-op? It's all the things that the Wii version of WaW should have been, but isn't. Excellent! I am gonna get this for sure!
I never understood why some people don't like this one. I love MM4! Sure, I get how some of the robot masters are too easy, but I thought the names and designs of them were great. And the music is fantastic. Honestly, I can't understand the hate...
