Re: Try Before You Buy When A Demo For Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom Arrives Later This Month

MegaStoneSmash91

I hope a lot of people try out the demo. I never played the series on the Master System, but the remaster of The Dragon's Trap and especially this game have been excellent experiences. I admit that the game does start off a bit slow, but once you have a few of the animal transformations at your disposal, it gets really good.

Also has a great soundtrack, featuring old tunes remixed and some new ones as well.

I certainly hope there's DLC. We already have plenty of objects to play around with, but there's also a lot missing, too. Slopes are a big missing item, of course, but I'd also like to see access to false walls and floors, adding water near the bottom of the screen without it being a pure swimming level, and more power ups. There's tons more that they could add as well.

The Mega Man pic was one of the highlights for me this week. It's great he put Beat in there, and one of the lesser known weapons as an alternative to Leaf Shield. I hope more weapons are available in his custom moves.

And even though I already saw it at Smash Fest and in the various Smash videos I've watched, I love that the red and white Rush colors were added as one of his pallet swaps. It looks soooooooo good.

I've always enjoyed this one. It has some good tunes and the Rush Adaptors are fun to mess with. It also has better Special Weapons than 5, but there are still a couple duds. I've never understood the hate for the Robot Masters, though. What's wrong with them exactly? I look at them and don't see anything bad. Them being based on different nationalities is also pretty neat.

I never considered this one to be among the best in the series, but it's still a good game. The Special Weapons are mostly terrible, there is little enemy variety, Rush Coil was unnecessarily changed, 1-ups are extremely common, and I feel the music isn't quite as good as other entries in the series. There are a few good songs, but mostly it's not too memorable. Some nice stage features are present, like the gravity changes in Gravity Man's stage, and the stages have a good overall feel to them. There's plenty I don't like about this one, but again, it is still a good game and worth playing if you enjoy the series.

Re: Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures Is Leaping To The Wii U And 3DS "Very Soon"

MegaStoneSmash91

This is great to hear. I have the game on Steam, but never really had the urge to play it much. Having it on Wii U or 3DS, two things I use more often than Steam, might get me to play it more. It's a quality title with difficulty to match it's retro appearance. Any fans of the AVGN episodes should get a kick out of it especially since it features numerous references to said episodes.

Re: Slew of Capcom Titles Announced for North American and European Virtual Consoles

MegaStoneSmash91

This is great news, indeed. Despite owning a copy of Mega Man 7, I may get it anyway so I can have it in another form. I haven't played the SNES version of X3 much, so I'll definitely be getting that. I do like the music in the PS1 port better, though.

Now we just have to wait for Mega Man & Bass on GBA, but I'd much rather have the Super Famicom version. I'll still get the GBA version, of course.

Re: Evil Controllers Offers Custom Mario-Themed Wii U Pro Controllers

MegaStoneSmash91

These look a bit unpolished. The M and L on the Mario and Luigi ones aren't even in the correct font style. They should look exactly the same as the letters featured on the bros' hats. And generic fireball images? Why not stick a picture of the characters on there, or their face or moustache? Also, since when has Princess Peach been symbolized be the letter P in a circle? Don't even get me started on that "Yoshi" one.

I don't own a Pro controller, but if I did these wouldn't interest me.

Re: Lucario The Aura Warrior Returns To Battle In Super Smash Bros. 3DS & Wii U

MegaStoneSmash91

Good to see Lucario back.

@Lance168: This in no way prevents Mewtwo from coming back, or a new Pokemon character from being included. You are absolutely right, we could have all 3. I'm still hoping for Mewtwo as well, and it's still entirely possible for them to both be there. Lucario had only small elements from Mewtwo's moveset, so there's no reason they couldn't be different.

Re: Review: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril (3DS)

MegaStoneSmash91

After having played the console version beforehand, the demo of this was terrible. No jumping, Hulk sounds awful, sliding on the touchscreen to fly and land, and you can't even switch characters at all. Only one playable character can be on screen, while the other can come in and do a support attack every now and then. I found no way to switch between the characters I was given. Also, you can actually die for real in this version, instead of just reappearing where you were before. This forces you to restart the level. Can't say I recommend this, especially when compared to the console version.

Re: Mega Man 4

I never understood why some people don't like this one. I love MM4! Sure, I get how some of the robot masters are too easy, but I thought the names and designs of them were great. And the music is fantastic. Honestly, I can't understand the hate...
