I'm guessing that it will be pushed back to spring of 2012, since less than half of a zelda game is over a year of game making. I bet that by more than half, he means about two thirds or three quarters.
Looks really amazing! There's something about time travel...it just appeals to all humans. Maybe it has to do with the longing in all of us to change the past...
Hmm, now that I look at it more closely, it resembles Chrono Trigger more and more. Is it just me or do the battles look like they take place in the walking field? The attacks look really similar too. I love the huge timeline though. If I had a DS, this would be mine. Maybe I'll just have to wait for a 3DS and a job.
Based on my experience with this and goldeneye, the two scores were very rightly given and accurately reflect the value of the games. I like IGN sometimes, but this is not one of those times.
@CaptainDingo It is worth an 8. It doesn't sound like you've played it yet. If you have, then you will understand that it is a great FPS for the Wii, although it is not without its flaws.
I guessed that it would be given an 8, and I think it deserves just that. It was a good, polished, entertaining game, but it lacked in some ways. The story mode really disappoints me. I guess it is pretty good, but it just feels jumpy in terms of the plot, and I really have no idea what the big picture is. "This is Bond. I'm going to Africa." Why? What did I miss?
So I had a question. There are some guns playable in both the story mode and Online that I cannot currently use in local matches. I haven't finished the story yet; can I unlock more stuff for splitscreen multiplayer?
Well, it worked with the PS2. It sometimes sells more than the variations of PSPs do. Keep making platforms that did really well, and people will buy them--people that missed out when it was still active. I need to get me some Kingdom Hearts and Shadow of the Colossus.
@3 Search "Vietnam War" in google. Oh, also you could try "Korean War", or "Berlin Wall", or even "Chinese Civil War". Sure these conflicts do not fall under the name "Cold War", but they were caused by it.
First of all, the sound does not seem equalized. The in game music is really quiet compared to the Wii itself; even with the music volume turned up all the way. Perhaps this is caused by my old TV that only has one speaker (and the whole thing is tinted green on one half and really dark on the other, with a spot of blue in the middle of the green), but still, it shouldn't be that big of a difference. The exp drops do not seem to be any quieter, despite the music being so quiet I have to turn it up really loud. While the text noise isn't quite so loud and annoying, it is now more quite, high pitched, and slightly less annoying. It is still a great improvement though.
Secondly, there are really annoying long pauses in between screens now. The game takes a a few seconds to load, which isn't that big of a deal, but when you get an item or a heart capsule and you have to wait five seconds after you get it to continue playing, it gets frustrating. The load times for areas are also quite a bit longer.
If you downloaded the bugged version before, I still strongly recommend getting the update. However it isn't perfect. It fixes a lot of issues and makes many aspects of the game better, but the sound problem is really diminished instead of fixed completely. If you haven't bought it already and like Cave Story, then get it now.
Ooo we can listen to the music if we click through on the music tab with 1 and 2. They even have new Toroko and King themes. They aren't too much better though. But still, King's theme deserves a few more listens. Oh and those annoying text sounds are lessened slightly. I don't know, I think I liked the old music better. I'm not a big fan of drums and clicky staccato sounds, but I guess it gives it more of an 8-bit feel...
The locking is good, but will i not be able to play them until I beat the running hell part? I cannot beat it, as I suck at video games. I gotta hear the music though, so this is definitely coming on my Wii right now.
Those statistics do not give enough information on how they were taken and who was polled. An assumption cannot be made from these. And obviously people are going to think it is overpriced. Nobody wants to spend money. I bet that a lot of people will still buy it.
But will it only work for black ops and conduit 2? I guess the game would have to program in having a headset. Or is it sperarate from the game itself? But will this work for goldeneye?
@SoulSilver So there's going to be 16 screens? The video shows four screens already, so its not going to look any worse than that. In fact, the graphics of having just one player on is incredibly good for the Wii; it just doesn't look quite as good with four screens. If you aren't going to play it just because of the graphics, well, its your loss.
I don't think that I would buy it either unless I heard that it was really good after its been out for a while. Sequels are usually not that great compared to their predecessors, and in my opinion, Okami was such a great game that it is almost a disservice to make one for it. The original lasted way longer than you expected it to, and the ending was completely unexpected from the beginning. When I finished it, I wanted to play more, but at the same time, I felt satisfied. I mean, the world is saved, what more can you do? You just defeated the ruler of all darkness, what else is there? Okami wasn't set up for a sequel, and i would have liked a completely new adventure game instead of a sequel.
@Malouff Unless I got really lucky or clearly missed something, I think the map bug is the "game-breaking bug". Personally, I think that the map is pointless. Who uses it for any reason other than to find a pair of panties in a wall.
I doubt it will be $300. Nintendo always makes their hardware cheaper than other companies do, but maybe they are taking a risk this time. It IS an incredible piece of hardware...
@Kid_A I wasn't, but to unlock things for multiplayer, I played through the campaign. I never knew it was possible to laugh so hard with your palm to your face before when I saw the ending.
Its because there is a HUGE shooter craze going on now. Nobody wants games other than shooters which disappoints me. After a while, games like MW2 get really really boring. They do need to come up with more ideas.
A six is very fitting, but don't be confused by the quality of the game and the fun that it creates. The run and moving mechanics are incredibly unrealistic and way to fast, but it is still fun nonetheless. The giant maps and the multiple types of vehicles to use make the multiplayer in this game a blast. My friends and I soon moved on to better things (timesplitters 3) after playing this for a while, but it is worth a try. The only things I wished it had that it didn't were bots and a mapmaker (I seriously thought you could unlock it, since the simple maps made it look possible. 6/10 game; 8/10 fun.
I don't care. This game is geared toward multiplayer, so i WILL have fun with it. The laser thing sounds cool, by the way. When I pick this up from Gamestop on election day, my friends and I are going to hook up my Wii to my big TV, get some soda and popcorn, grab our gamecube controllers that we play ts3 with, and have a good time.
@24 its a ... fun game...an exploration game i guess? You take the role of a miner who has to mine for ores on mars, and the further you go down, the better the minerals become but there are more dangers. It really addicting, and I suggest you play the original <a href="http://www.xgenstudios.com/game.php?keyword=motherload">HERE</a>.
I guess this site doesn't support html does it? BBC?
On the contrary Otaku, games would NOT be the same without it. Without Super Mario Bros or Megaman or Metroid or Final Fantasy or many many other games, where would gaming be? Definitely not where it is today.
Awww, I loved Motherload. Hopefully this won't come out before too long, and hopefully it will only cost the 500 points I left on my Wii. But I guess ill just have to stop being lazy and go buy a card... A credit card!... Online!
I knew this was coming, and their lack of recent advertising has lead me to want Goldeneye way more. Conduit 2 looks really good, but it doesn't seem like it will create a unique kind of gameplay. Right now I'm looking forward to Goldeneye and Black Ops, and I might even preorder a game (I never do that), considering the different modes of gameplay that you can get by getting it early from gamestop or best buy. Personally I like the tag mode, but invisible looks pretty fun.
I think this game looks amazing--even better than Xenoblade, which I also want to get really badly. But since Xenoblade came out in Japan first, I guess we will be seeing that first (hopefully). These two RPGs will finally quench the thirst Ive had for a Wii RPG.
I won't need a voice chat, because I will be utilizing the four player split-screen option. I think this game looks good so far. The graphics are amazing for a Wii game.
I'm really looking forward to this, since I love RPGs, and the combat system in this game looks really fun. Its like a cross between a first person shooter, a real time RPG system and a turned based RPG. Its going to be great... Now I'm just waiting for a release date for the US ...waiting...
@1 From the looks of demos at E3 I think that it does support the gamecube controller. The player opened up the options menu, and the different controller options were shown.
I think that some games are good enough to make sequels out of, yet others are just too good to touch again. Chrono Trigger is a classic, and it need not be mixed up with our idea of gaming today.
@ejamer CoD: MWR was actually a really good game in terms of multiplayer. The online setup was far better than the Conduit. I think that the game is in good hands.
I don't know what to think of this. I am certainly excited that a JRPG is coming to the Wii, since there really have been none. I am also excited about the music since Yasunori Mitsuda is awesome. But the game seems a little uninteresting in some aspects. I will wait to see if this is any good, but I will definitely keep my eyes on it. I guess I am looking forward to Xenoblade and Last Story more, since they seem to be introducing something new.
