Re: UK Charts: Super Mario Odyssey Triple Jumps 15 Places To Lead Nintendo's Efforts

Lemonyoshi

@joedick People have begun purchasing games beyond what they got for the holidays. While they were likely content with MK8 for the holidays while being around family, it's not as fun when you're playing alone - they needed something more singleplayer style. Mario Odyssey is a perfect fit! Fantastic game! So glad to see it's continuing to sell so well even 2 1/2 years in!

Re: Love It Or Hate It, Fortnite Made More Money Than Any Other Game In 2019

Lemonyoshi

@teamdave2002 I've played the game. All I'm saying is, it is very clearly a free game and I can't believe people spend money on it. As far as the age range, the demographic that plays this game, almoat regardless of age, is very childish. This isn't to say there aren't mature people that play Fortnite, nor is it a dig on the game itself or it's players. I've merely noticed the toxicity level of many that play this specific game is very high. Much like call of duty, but probably even worse.

Re: Love It Or Hate It, Fortnite Made More Money Than Any Other Game In 2019

@victordamazio This is wildy inaccurate. I don't dislike the game of Fortnite so much the toxic fanbase. People obsess over a very generic game with no originality. Have you looked into why Fortnite was so successful? Many other companies were working on battle royale games but were in beta, Epic Games came along and saw a money bag. They rushed a trash game and released it. 8-14 year olds obsessed over Fortnite because the media pushed it so hard and don't have the attention span to play an in-depth REAL game. The fanbase is toxic, like it or not. Minecraft taught creativity and friendship. Fortnite teaches destruction and hatred between 'friends'. People play Minecraft with real life friends during a sleepover. People play Fortnite with people they met online while on a 3 night bender. Fortnite is everything Minecraft isn't. That's the problem!

@Bondi_Surfer You can always hit 'Ignore' or 'Report' if you get sick of a specific user - but hiding heavily down-voted comments would also result in unpopular opinions being deleted. I like where you're going with removal of 'troll-like' posts, but unpopular opinions I actually quite enjoy reading. Even if the unpopular opinions are slightly troll-ish, they usually make me think in a way I usually would not.

@KBuckley27 Usually when a release window is given, it's because even the Big N themselves aren't quite sure when the game will release. Development, and how dev of games moves along is so difficult to predict, along with scheduling games far enough apart has always proven to give Nintendo issues with scheduling game releases. In late 2019 Luigi's Mansion 3 came out Oct. 31, then Pokemon Sword/Shield 15 days later on November 15th. I'd prefer not to have instances like that.

Re: Feature: New Year Resolutions For Nintendo In 2020

Lemonyoshi

@Prof_Yoshtonics Completely agree. As much as I want MK9, I somewhat doubt it just because of lack of players on the Wii U. Most people are still content with MK8 Deluxe, so it'd be a push for MK9 before 2021 or 2022. I really hope we do get MK9 in 2020, though!

Re: Feature: New Year Resolutions For Nintendo In 2020

Honestly, 2019 was so big, and had so many games that I'm content with Animal Crossing: New Horizons being the main course of 2020. It's looking spectacular and will almost certainly take most of my gaming time in 2020. No rush on BOTW sequel or MP4. I'm willing to wait. I love what Miyamoto said a while back "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." That is key and why Nintendo is my absolute favorite media company ever. To another great year, Nintendo!

Re: Former Game Freak Illustrator Reveals He Designed The Legendary Pokémon In Sword And Shield

Lemonyoshi

Sword and Shield seem to have mostly good character development. Some characters are a little iffy, but haven't they always been? Even think back to Gary who always seemed like an alternate Ash who was salty any chance he got, to me. Cheesy character development is part of Pokemon and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that as far as I'm concerned. It gives Pokemon it's originality.

Re: Japanese Charts: Pokémon Sword And Shield Debut In Top Spot, As Switch Sales Continue To Rise

Lemonyoshi

So many people doubted Sword and Shield but they've proven to be, minimally, acceptable entries to the series. Very welcome additions came in gen 8. Pokemon is far from dead. We may have found out that Gamefreak needs a bigger team, but I fear hiring outsiders will prove to compromise the trueness of Pokemon games. Either way, glad to see it sold exceptionally well!

Re: Pokémon Designer Shares Special Artwork To Celebrate The Release Of Sword And Shield

Lemonyoshi

@PBandSmelly I've played Pokemon since Crystal and honestly Sword and Shield is beyond my expectations for a Pokemon game. If it doesn't impress you, maybe you just don't like Pokemon? There are a few let downs like national dex and I'm not huge on the new starter evos... but all in all if you started this game up and didn't go "WOW! That's beautiful for Pokemon!" I find it more likely you're the person who's never played a Pokemon game before...

Re: Enchanted Portals Is A Cuphead-Style Co-Op Game Eyeing Up A Release On Switch

Lemonyoshi

I'm usually a fan of devs making games based on other games; but this is a direct rip off. It has no originality, and they shoot from their fingers EXACTLY like Cuphead and Co. I like the idea, but it needs to be different enough that I don't mistake it for a poorly developed Cuphead. If it had it's own style, I'd be interested. I can't purchase this game in good conscience. Loyal to Cuphead. Not to mention... it's coming out years after Cuphead and looks WORSE!

Re: Switch Is Getting A New Shooter Based On The Zombieland Movies

Lemonyoshi

My friend did the make up and props for Zombieland 2. His name is Deryk for anyone that wants to fact check me. That said, the movie looks amazing, and I've even gotten to see a good amount (15min+ of the movie), but this game, however, does not seem to match the standards that the movie meets.

Re: Guide: Pokémon Let's Go - Everything We Know About Let's Go Pikachu! And Let's Go Eevee! On Nintendo Switch

Lemonyoshi

@thesilverbrick That's fair. I agree entirely. I'm hoping for a great core rpg next year, which hopefully won't be ruined by trash gen 8 pokemon. Maybe they're just out of ideas, but in my opinion, in the last few gens, the part that has been lacking is the pokemon themselves. I enjoyed the game mechanics and the new 'polish' if you will. But the pokemon themselves are.. disappointing.. to say the least. I'm hoping for quality pokemon. Otherwise, I think Id rather just have a gen 4 remake next year on switch.

Re: Guide: Pokémon Let's Go - Everything We Know About Let's Go Pikachu! And Let's Go Eevee! On Nintendo Switch

Lemonyoshi

@thesilverbrick nasty? I didn't mean for it to come across as offensive. My apologies. I am a well composed person. But I do think it's offensive to say something like only the simplistuc will enjoy this game. I play much more hardcore games than any game pokemon has ever had an installment for. But why hate on a new idea. Nintendo is the best at creating new ways to play. You still doubting them... makes me doubt your experience as a Nintendo gamer. That said, again not trying to be rude, just stating my opinion, just as you did.
