Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Includes Support For Variable Refresh Rate Technology

Largren

Good. I was surprised but extremely happy to hear the Switch 2 will support 120hz. I assume 120hz will be supported in docked mode too, at the sacrifice of resolution. I’ve seen conflicting info saying that docked will only support 4k/60hz but this sounds more like you have the option to select 1080p/120hz in docked. I hope so as I have a 120hz tv and it would feel like such a waste otherwise.

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Briefed Activision On 'Switch 2' Back In 2022

This is pretty disappointing to be honest if true. I’d like the next Switch to be on par with the Series S, especially as the next console will be massively compared to the Steam Deck. The PS4 came out in 2013? That’s already 10-year-old hardware which is expected to last another 7 years or so, right when the next gen consoles will be moving on I imagine. The only negatives with the Switch is it’s processing power and 3rd-party support! The Switch 2 is a really good opportunity to catch up to the pack.

Re: Talking Point: Will Nintendo Abandon The Switch Concept For Its Next Console?

Largren

I really hope Nintendo keep the hybrid concept going. It’s so convenient and just a brilliant idea all round. The next console should just be much more powerful. I’d be happy to pay PS5/Xbox Series X prices if the next Switch model is even just slightly below those in terms of power as it’s so convenient. A modern touch would be nice like what they’ve done with the OLED. Implement a 4K screen, reduced bezels etc.

Re: Animal Crossing's Happy Home Paradise Update Will Be The Game's "First And Only Paid DLC"

Largren

A lot of hate towards this DLC and coming from someone who’s been an AC fan since the GameCube (and played each instalment since), I can understand why. However, this update will keep us all busy for months and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m just sad it’s the only paid DLC, I was hoping we’d see another set or two of expansions, maybe even a season pass announcement. Either way, can’t wait for November 5th!

Re: Community: What Was Your First Ever Nintendo Game?

Largren

N64 is my first Nintendo console, along with my first console ever, that and the Sega Genesis. First game I remember playing was Banjo Kazooie which to this day is my favourite game of all time. Also have really old memories of Pokémon stadium, mario party etc.

Re: Round Up: Here Are The First "Hands-On" Impressions Of The Nintendo Switch OLED

These improvements are great and I admit, I’m interested just because of how much I play my Switch, although not much in handheld. However, I’m extremely disappointed that there’s no graphical/power improvements. I was desperate to see a Switch Pro which would encourage even more third-party support. Whilst I have my Xbox Series X and gaming laptop for this, I will always choose to play games on Switch over any other platform.
