@idrawrobots all versions of Minecraft still receive updates at the same time. Java edition, however, gets snapshots, which are like previews of upcoming updates to test out new features and fix bugs early on (basically a beta). That might be what you’ve seen people play, but the nether update is only just now officially releasing on all platforms.
Oh the internet ain’t delightful Fan toxicity by the byteful, Whenever they reveal Pokémon Let it Snom Let it Snom Let it Snom...
While it kinda might feel like a trick, Pokémon fans used to be nice. But the Pokémon community is so toxic, Their hearts are as frozen as ice.
While the hype is terribly dying, Look, you’ve got one of the developers crying, If only we could save Pokémon... Let it Snom Let it Snom Let it Snom...
@Kalmaro Pokémon fans: 2017: [No gen 8] “Why haven’t we gotten gen 8 on switch yet?!” 2018: [No gen 8] “WE WANT GEN 8 NOW!!” 2019: [Gen 8 comes out] “Why didn’t they wait until 2020 and delay the game? BringBackNationalDex!!”
As I see it, the reason for the dexit was because there are too many Pokémon to handle. We are almost at 1000, and if they keep adding new Pokémon every 3 years, the dex would be too big to manage (and too big to include in each game)
The options to handle this situation- the paths that Gamefreak could take this series down- are as follows:
1) They start leaving out past Pokémon available in each generation of games in favor of new Pokémon. (Aka the dexit) I’m sure the cuts wouldn’t be permanent, and the Pokémon that are available and cut each generation would vary. Now obviously ‘nobody’ liked the dexit and it was ‘bad’...
2) They just stop adding new Pokémon and return all the old ones. This might sound cool, but remember most of the hype for every new gen surrounds the new Pokémon and the new region. If they stopped adding new Pokémon, what would be the point of buying a new game. Would they have to double down on new stupid mechanics? New Pokémon are what make new Pokémon games, and to stop adding them would make the games even more feel repetitive than they already are.
So a world where we don’t feature every Pokémon and focus on the new ones we add? Or one where every Pokémon game features the exact same batch of Pokémon with no changes.
You know that the fan base is toxic as hell. Gamefreak should just stop putting out Pokémon games for a few years and see how they react. There is literally no hope for Pokémon, not because the of the developers or the quality of the games, but because of the toxicity that’s following it around. The people who somehow call themselves fans and yet don’t even like the games. If we could pull a ‘dexit’ on the community and cut the half of fans who are toxic, Pokémon would have room to evolve- as it did when we cut half the dex.
@Zeuseksy That’s a suggestive opinion. 😉 According to that one poll that was taken to see which Pokémon were unloved by anyone, only 4 Pokémon had zero fans, and none of those were designed by him.
Wait, a Gamefreak employee liked a comment?! That’s unacceptable! GF can’t express their opinions! Only we can do that! What’s next, retweeting a #ThankYouGameFreak post?
...it’s about time GF started telling people to shut up.
If you don’t like the game, don’t buy it. I think people don’t really understand how true this statement is. Nobody is pressing a gun against your head and forcing you to act, not like how Pokémon fans are holding a gun against GFs head and forcing them to make what they want, when they want it, exactly how they want it.
The real meaning of this phrase “Don’t buy the game if you don’t want it” is actually “stop voicing your negative opinion for a game you haven’t even played. You clearly don’t care about it anyway, you sound like you aren’t gonna buy it, so why waste your time dissing the developers?”
Edit : more accurately “if you don’t care about the game, shut up. Stop making negative comments. Just don’t buy the game- that’s all the protesting GF needs.
Guys, the Pokédex is getting too big. We’re about to hit 1000 for crying out loud! While I do feel pity for those who’s favorite Pokémon has been cut, I really don’t stand up for all this bs protesting on Twitter and attacking the creators of this game. Its a friking video game!
I’m sorry to the poor saps at GF, Turner, and Masuda. They pour their souls into developing these games, which by the way they have been putting out a new main series title every year except 2015, and they deserve much more respect for that then what they are getting now. And from their own fan base! Pokémon fans are way too demanding!
I actually built my team for Pokémon SwSh based on officially confirmed and the leaked Pokémon, and the only Pokémon that I will be using that isn’t new is Wobbuffet. I’m sure I’m not the only one who plays new Pokémon games for new Pokémon.
Anyone who still has images of the leaks! Look at the pictures of Polteageist’s pre evo, zoom in on the Pokédex sprites for Polteageist and Galar Ponyta. Now find them on the Tetris 99 theme. They are exactly the same (btw the leaked sprites have never been officially shown anywhere but the leaks) meaning that most likely the leaks are real. As if anyone still thought they were fake.
@Xaessya Per tradition, every boy wears a red cap and blue outfit to honor the Hero of Pokémon, and are each gifted a Pikachu at 10 years of age. It’s The Legend of Zelda all over again.
@Matthew010 oh, don’t be such a Slowpoke when it come to Poké puns.
...
Okay that made me cringe. It’s like an episode of Pokémon Sun/Moon the series with Samson Oak.
Edit: aaand I’m just now realizing how half of the Pokédex was named. It’s making my brain Exploud, but I have an Inkling of a suspicion that other Nintendo IPs contain naming puns as well. Anyway, I’m off to eat some CallieMarie...
I’m sorry. Please don’t Incineroar me for this. I’m excited for the new Detective Pikachu 2
Too bad the world is apparently ending now that “oh no! Now Pokémon is ruined because you can’t get them all in this game!” Big deal. Move on with your lives and get over it already. There will be more, hopefully better, Pokémon games on the switch in the future. And yes, GF is making new models. They just look the same because that’s what Pokémon look like. This isn’t BOTW, this isn’t Ultimate Pokémon, and if that’s what you’re looking for, you’re gonna have to wait a little longer
My predictions: 1. Pokémon ‘fans’ get pissed off about the Pokédex cut. 2. ‘Fans’ get mad about the way the game looks 3. ‘Fans’ keep complaining about the models and animations, say GF is reusing models. (Of course the models would look the same as the 3DS ones, even if GF had made new ones for the Switch as they have claimed, because thats how Pokémon look! The Pokémon’s design hasn’t changed, why would the models look any different?)
@Antraxx777 Sure, here’s the course ID: 62H-GN3-L3G Might encounter some problems since it’s centered around seesaws. Like I said, I don’t have Joy-Con drift myself and haven’t played it with a faulty Joy-Con yet.
Oh, Nintendo. What have you got into now. Well, it wouldn’t be a man-made machine if there wasn’t some way to ‘effectively junk’ it. I’ll stick with my switch that switches. I normally only use it in handheld anyway. And my Joy-Con don’t drift. (But I know how annoying it becomes via my friend’s switch. I even made a SMM2 course that is as annoying as drift.) But, the Lite is still a good deal.
Do we need another Pokémon mobile game? No. Do we need spin-offs on the Switch? Yes.(please.) Do we need high-quality animations for SnS because OMG it looks horrible and GF sucks and we hate Pokémon now because the national dex is gone and the animations look the same and they are all lying to us and we should riot saying #bringbacknationaldex and GF is corrupted and SnS sucks and— Wait, what was this article about, again? Funny how you can’t swing a cat in the Pokémon community without hitting somebody who’s gonna complain about... you know. You can’t even mention Pokémon without triggering the oh-so-loyal ‘fanbase’. Dang, these people can’t accept anything they’re told. Always so quick to argue. Sad, that the Pokémon community is making the problem seem bigger than it actually is. And now we, not GF, have ruined a perfectly good title with our ‘criticism’ (read: active complaints).
Yes, I know that this article was about the stupid Pokémon mobile announcement. But too many people down here are complaining about SnS, which is 1) off topic and 2) plain stupid. Not reasonable. It isn’t a big problem.
Aaaaand all the DLC ( haven’t bought the pass, only Joker, didn’t think I would need all of the dlc fighters but so far YES) Pokémon Shield Luigi’s Mansion Animal Crossing Town?! I’m gonna be broke BEFORE Christmas.
@Xelha Agreed, but what could they do to the models? Like give them fur or something like Pokken? I mean, I would like that, but they should save that for an open world, ultimate Pokémon. I’m not sure what it takes to make models, so I don’t know whether or not GF is actually working hard on these games. Hopefully, they are.
@Xelha the Models are (supposedly) different, I think you mean the crappy animations look the same. Which they do. But GF never said they were changing the animations, just the models, which is definitely believable.
I’m okay with a Pokémon Skyward Sword and Shield, but just as long as we get more new games soon. Hopefully something to shake up the series as much as Sun/Moon did.
That being said, this is only the first ‘new’ Pokémon generation/game to be on the Switch, I didn’t expect some total revolution to the series, like Zelda BoTW. Because BoTW was technically the last Zelda for the Wii U, not really the first game for the Switch. I wouldn’t expect a Pokémon game to blow us away until a couple more years. (Pls be open world Breath of the Pikachu)
This is literally how the 3ds era of Pokémon games were, some trial and error, mediocre games, and then the super-Ultra Sun/Moon games. Just because it’s on the Switch, it doesn’t and shouldn’t have to be the Ultimate installment, especially if there are games in the series to be on the Switch.
GF said the dex was cut because they were working on new models, but everyone says they’re lying because the animations look the same. But they said they were making new MODELS, not animations. They still are making new models, but those models are using the same animations.
Funny, just realized that they both reused old models and cut the Pokédex in Let’s Go. Yes, I know that these aren’t Gen 1 remakes, but you should have at least seen this coming.
Edit: only Pokémon from the Kanto Pokédex can be transferred from Pokémon GO. Sound familiar?
@JudaiMasters I wasn’t comparing the games, just the complaints of the community. (Well not so much in smash’s case) @TheBlue10 The point is, the animations are about as big of a deal as Waluigi is, or at least as how Waluigi not being in smash is. And Gamefreak even acknowledged and confirmed that, yes, they look the same, but they are different. So there shouldn’t be any reason to complain as much as people are.
And about the harassment comment, have you seen how negative the community has been towards GF?
@TheBlue10 yes, the animations are a very HUGE deal when it comes to this game. And I’m not being sarcastic, because if there have been multiple articles and discussion about it, it must be such a big deal. But does it really define how good of a game this is?
Just accept it. Please. No need to make a fuss about the animations.
Also there is NO evidence that they are lying, since we don’t have the full game, we don’t know how many NEW Pokémon there are, and we don’t know what Pokémon are being cut out. And in the long run, the animations and Pokédex don’t matter. Why would they? Harassing Gamefreak about changes we don’t even fully know about is just stupid. I’d be like if we harassed Sakurai over one character who we wanted for so long not being in the Ultimate roster— oh wait a minute.
Whoever seriously nit-picks Pokémon animations should either be an animator themselves, or have ADHD. And again, we haven’t even seen the whole game, and we don’t know what the end product will look like.
Yes! Good for you Nintendo! The only thing I would change is the name. ‘Switch’? It’s been said before, this thing can’t switch. Come up with a cool name, like Nintendo Go.
So I guess the next big direct ( probably the last one for 2019) is 9.20? Makes sense with literally everything being released on that date. Links Awakening looks like a cool handheld game.
By the way they refer to the ‘Switch Family’, even though there are only two Switches, are we gettting a Switch Pro/ New Nintendo Switch? I feel like since this appealed to wannabe switch owners, but what about us who have a Switch? I’m not buying one, I really want one, but the switch is already handheld and that’s all I use it for.
A comprehensive list of everything the Pokémon community has not complained about in the past 5 years: ...
...
...
...
This is the part where I tell people to quit their whining and shut up. But no one’s gonna listen, since all they care about is what they want, and REFUSE to listen to reason— Sorry, it’s a discussion (read: debate/community protest/complaint gathering) about Pokémon. I couldn’t help myself. ... ... ... ... P.S. NL please stop writing about Gamefreak. Because the majority of the Pokémon community just sucks. They’re horrible
“I don’t think we can just make the same thing again” Uh-huh... “Unique twist” Did Let’s go have a ‘Unique’ twist? Or USUM? Putting more Pokémon into a mobile Pokémon Snap is good enough. Or if it were like GO, but you could only take pictures.
If any indie game character is gonna tear up Smash, it’s gonna be Steve. Minecraft is the most sold game, beating Tetris. TETRIS! It’s also the one game that everyone in GenZ knows about, somehow. That being said, we could always have two indie characters...

(Sorry for making you read all this)
Re: Get Ready To Gigantamax As New Pokémon Are Announced For Sword And Shield On Switch

Aaaand now Mega evolution is only for certain individual Pokémon within a species.

A comprehensive list of everything the Pokémon community has not complained about in the past 5 years:

This is the part where I tell people to quit their whining and shut up.
But no one’s gonna listen, since all they care about is what they want, and REFUSE to listen to reason—
Sorry, it’s a discussion (read: debate/community protest/complaint gathering) about Pokémon. I couldn’t help myself.

P.S. NL please stop writing about Gamefreak. Because the majority of the Pokémon community just sucks. They’re horrible
Re: A Sequel To Pokémon Snap Won't Happen Unless There's A "Very Unique Twist"
“I don’t think we can just make the same thing again”
Uh-huh...
“Unique twist”
Did Let’s go have a ‘Unique’ twist? Or USUM?
Putting more Pokémon into a mobile Pokémon Snap is good enough. Or if it were like GO, but you could only take pictures.
Re: Random: Was Shantae The Half-Genie Hero Just Teased For Smash Bros. Ultimate?
Remember how a kid at his school drew the smash logo on the whiteboard along with the date Dec. 7 and everyone thought it was a school shooting?
Re: Random: Was Shantae The Half-Genie Hero Just Teased For Smash Bros. Ultimate?
If any indie game character is gonna tear up Smash, it’s gonna be Steve. Minecraft is the most sold game, beating Tetris. TETRIS! It’s also the one game that everyone in GenZ knows about, somehow.
That being said, we could always have two indie characters...
Re: Nintendo Wants The Switch Business To Continue For As Long As Possible
Let’s go, Ultimate, Odyssey, Mario Party, and Mariokart 8 deluxe were all big hits on the switch. Not BOTW, though. That was a Wii U title.
