BS that now all of a sudden my nickname is no longer able to be used. It's the same as my username here and what I use on all game systems and online. If it was somehow offensive or whatever, I don't think Xbox or PlayStation would let me use it. Ridiculous, especially if I had a Switch since launch and had this name for 6 years and now all of a sudden it's bad. I haven't, but that's beside the point.
@NEStalgia It stinks, but at the same time I guess it's not the end of the world given that I have rarely used my Switch for months. Part of that is due to only having so much time to play, and while I would love to experience some of the Switch games, there's little way to balance multiple consoles at once for me and not end up creating a big backlog. I am actually tempted to use it again though for Metroid Prime Remastered since I never played any of the series before, and to try the Sea os Stars demo since it's exclusive to Switch right now.
I guess we're at a time now where you have to just enjoy the games and not care about the companies anymore. A shame in a way obviously, but I guess at the end of the day it is the games that matter most. Not defending any of the companies of course as I could sit here for a while criticizing them, but I'll pass.
$70 and it basically will never go on sale physically for years. I'd have less of a problem with it if it was like PlayStation and Xbox games at $70 that go on sale and drop in price permanently eventually. It'd also be different if the Switch was even remotely equivalent to their consoles.
I truly hope it lives up to the hype for people, but this is still pretty bad to start charging $70 when you like to charge full price for a game years after it comes out.
@NorwegianMate True, especially how he's been unhappy with them not following the books and that he's also a big Warhammer fan along with The Witcher. For him, I hope they do a good job with Warhammer. As much as WB has messed with him ever since Man of Steel, I have no ill will towards him over his departure from The Witcher.
If it's Henry's choice to still not return to The Witcher even after being dropped again as Superman, then ok, that's his choice. If Netflix wouldn't even bother contacting him to see if he would come back now, well, then that's just idiotic.
This is one instance where there may not be enough people that are sheep that will watch something no matter what. That's an extremely large amount of people who signed the petition, and the amount of disappointment and backlash might have already sealed the show's fate after Season 4. All of that would be meaningless if they would have brought back Henry as Geralt.
@Dom_31 Not similar at all. He left The Witcher. He was told they didn't want him as Superman anymore for the second time.
@DrewBA77 I'm not trying to make it a bigger deal than it is, especially since it's only a bonus level, but this is something that you can rightfully complain about. It's something that entirely ruins the bonus level. If Nintendo fixes it with a patch, no big deal, but it is pretty clear whoever worked on this NSO version had no idea how the game was originally designed.
While I get that she wanted a better wage and that equal pay and all that has been an issue for a long time, she completely lost me when she basically criticized Jennifer Hale for taking on the role. It was her choice, whatever, but don't criticize somebody else for taking on a role that you passed on, no matter whether it was to take a stand or whatever.
Not going to boycott the game as I tend to ignore the politics of things. Was what Platinum offered her a lowball offer? Probably, but at the end of the day I worry about myself, and I will play whatever I want to play. It'd be different if what they did was criminal, but it wasn't.
Going to continue my first playthrough of Breath of the Wild. I can't say I'm loving it like the masses that called it the best game ever, but it's still early, so we'll see how it goes now that I'm done with the beginning and have the paraglider.
@Nf157 Thanks. I definitely agree on The Last of Us Part 1. Liking it better than I did when I played it on the PS4. I have some reservations about Breath of the Wild (story being thin and climbing seems it could be frustrating), but I figure it's basically an obligation after getting a Switch a few months ago.
Pretty wild that one of the best video game trailers in a while is from Nintendo and for a Nintendo 64 re-release. Not to take anything away from it, as the trailer was great. Reminds me of peak PlayStation marketing when they were actually willing to have fun (PS3 era).
I've never played Pilotwings as I never had a N64, but if I ever get the Expansion Pack, I may give it a try.
Not sure why the article makes it seem like this is breaking news that just happened. The game is out in a matter of weeks, so obviously she had to be replaced quite a while ago.
As for the change, Jennifer Hale is great, so no big deal there.
I don't know how long it is, but there's also a demo available to download. Downloading it now, as I definitely want to try it.
After watching the trailer for the game, I remembered watching it a while ago because of an article for the game on this site. Now this site reminded me about the game again with this glowing review.
This is also 10% off here in the US, so I'm guessing it's on sale for that everywhere. Even at regular price ($19.99 before the discount), it's a decent deal even if this is a short RPG.
@Vortexeo Thanks for pointing that out. Even if I decide to move on to something else since my playtime will end up being around 90 hours once I'm done, I'lll definitely come back to it to play Future Connected at some point. Not going to ignore more good content from a good game. It would be more because I've spent a lot of time on the game already.
Seems like I'm finally about to finish Xenoblade Chronicles. I'm not sure if I will do Future Connected right after or not, but if not, then I'll probably play Bayonetta afterwards to start getting ready for Bayonetta 3. That and I don't want to play another long RPG right after one.
@DiamondJim It should have been mentioned, but it shouldn't factor into the score of the game, which is just reviewing the game itself. It's a hefty install size for the Switch, especially since it won't even fit on the original Switch consoles, but it's only a third of what it is on the PS5 and Series X. If somebody really wants to play basketball on the go, then they are going to do what they need to do to play this, and most people probably have a microSD card already anyways.
It does suck that a lot of the game has to be downloaded rather than more on the game card, but it is what it is. It won't take that long to install, and plenty of games on PlayStation and Xbox are even bigger.
Not bad, but a good portion of these games have already been on sale recently in other sales. Would have been nice if Nintendo included some of their own games in this "Blockbuster" sale besides a few nobody cares about.
Well, I was ready to say it was going to be a great Direct by how it started off. A new Fire Emblem game was on my list. I knew how they were going to close the Direct, so that's all well and good too. Way too much filler at times though, but the killer for me was no Metroid Prime 1 or 4 news. So, I was forced to say it was rubbish since that was priority number 1 for me. I don't think it was rubbish, but I was definitely disappointed. Some decent announcements, but not enough.
Still playing Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. At around 67 hours now and on Chapter 12, which is now possibly my favorite chapter so far.
I haven't been playing it quite as much as I should have been this week, as I think I only completed one chapter all week, but that will change this weekend.
More Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. I'm about to start Chapter 11 and getting close to the 60 hour mark. The side quests have started to wear thin for me as they are basically the same two kinds of quests over and over again (fetch quests or kill monsters), but I'm still highly enjoying the main story.
Still Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. Didn't get to play a whole lot earlier this week, so I'm still on Chapter 8 (Melia's big story chapter). It's been my favorite chapter, at least since early in the game. Just crossed the 43 hour mark earlier today.
@Buizel That's fair, as I can say that as well except for Cyberpunk 2077. I'm not counting some of the other games I've played as they weren't new releases, or in the case of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, I had already played it once on the PS4. Life is Strange: True Colors would probably be behind those two as far as new releases go (counting Cyberpunk since the PS5 version is basically a new game performance wise), but as much as I enjoyed that True Colors, I wouldn't put it in the same class as Rift Apart since that game was my 2021 game of the year.
@Buizel Your avatar (Rivet) would not be pleased with your comment that you are running out of reasons to play her console.
This is one of those games that caught my eye before it came out on the PS5, but then I put it on the list of games I'd play when they got really cheap since it's supposed to be decent but nothing special. This does seem like a game that would be perfect for the Switch though with it's combination of 3D and 2D Metroidvania gameplay. Maybe it can find some more success there.
As I'm still fairly new to the Switch, I was surprised when I looked on the eShop last week and saw that True Colors was the only Life is Strange game on Switch as the series is a perfect fit for it. Well, that explains it. I loved all 3 games (not including Life is Strange 2, which I haven't played yet), but I'm not sure if I'll rebuy them for the Switch or just stick to the PlayStation versions if I ever get the urge to play the series again.
I guess somehow these games combined are more than 16 GBs. You wouldn't think so as they aren't big games even on the PS4 and the PS5 (True Colors is only 12 GB on the PS5). Since I don't see another company publishing this collection on two cards, I guess that will have to do.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. I'm about 35 hours in and on Chapter 7.
I wish some of the things you have to find to rebuild Colony 6 weren't so hard to find at times, which does make the whole process less entertaining than I anticipated, but I'm still enjoying the game otherwise.
@Jmjfrank That actually isn't half bad price wise. If the figures are really well done, then around $100 is reasonable. You get what you'd pay for. Ones that are around $200 or more, I don't care how good they are.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. After a week with it and my new Switch, I am enjoying the game. I feel the combat can be a bit repetitive, but the story has been quite good so far after a little over 20 hours (I believe I'm on Chapter 5).
Not a huge deal, but the first link to the review right under the tweet is a broken link.
As for Sonic Origins, I will get to it at some point. Maybe by the time I do it will be in a much better state than it was at launch. I probably would have played this already if it was in better shape at launch as I loved Sonic games on the Genesis.
Not at all. Of course sales are going to be down when people aren't buying video games and systems as much since they can actually do things outside now. Numbers were inflated during the pandemic, now they are becoming more normal. I also find it funny that they blame it on the semiconductor shortage when they could just be honest and say that. Plus, you can easily get a Switch, unlike the new gen systems that are actually still hard to get.
Just got a Switch yesterday. First Nintendo system since the NES, so it's pretty exciting. I will be kicking things off with Xenoblade Chronicles today. I've been wanting to play the series for a while, and it's a big reason why I bought the Switch, so I might as well start there (and at the beginning of the series of course).
