I have a Wii U, I love it, and I expect It to do well in the long run. Regardless, selling about 3 times as much as it was still isn't much. It only gains significance when you consider that Nintendo didn't do anything (that we know of) to boost sales. It also suggests to me that regardless of what the average Internet commenter thinks, the average consumer probably does consider the Wii U next gen.
Side note: I consider Wii U current gen along with Xbox One and PS4 because when the Wii U was released it started the newest generation of consoles.
If I were Microsoft I would have asked EA to please not use the word "partnership" during the presentation. I can't help but think that there's a disaster waiting to happen. Again.
The only EA game I plan on buying is a used EA game from now on.
There actually was a sequel to this game for the PS2. It's not as good, but it is still fun.
I don't think that EA has the rights to all past Star Wars games, just for making new console games. Disney reserved the rights for mobile and social Star Wars games for their internal studios.
@rjejr I'm not sure your logic checks out. It is pretty normal these days for a new system to get games ported from the previous generation as well as the newer games.
To the people saying that making a Let's Play is hard workâhaving read all of the comments here so far I have seen nothing that convinces me of that. An hour or so editing a video after playing the game is not a signifigant amount of time. That is nothing compared to the amount of time it takes to create an original video from scratch let alone editing one.
@theblackdragon You make a good point that my claim can not be backed up at this point by solid evidence. By the same token however, neither can the opposing view which so many people claim is backed up by scientific evidence. @k8sMum The whole "the founding fathers were deists" thing is a relatively new interpretation. There's the quote where they said they were "led by providence"--while these days providence means luck it used to mean God. One of the founding fathers said that the constitution was written for a religious people.
I also agree with and support pretty much everything @TrueWiiMaster has said.
@C7_ :"Two people who have nothing to do with you getting married by both of their legal consent under the laws in which we allow marriage does not ruin lives any more than normal marriage would."
That's not strictly true. Children are most happy and successful when they grow up in a family with two married parents, one male and one female.
I think this bug/feature will be removed entirely. It would probably take more effort than it is worth to put in an adoption mechanic for children, because regardless of your views on the subject, it is not physically possible for a same sex couple to have biological children.
@Schprocket "Just to add some perspective, nobody has problems using the WiiMote in Skyward Sword and yet you could far easier fashoin a realistic looking blade-controller for that (and similar) stabby-games. I'll bet you'll find stabbings are more prevalent in the world than gun-shot deaths."
I don't hear about many sword related deaths happening these days. If it was common I think people would have a problem with it.
@Damo I personally like the Kickstarter coverage on this site. I haven't donated to any of the ones featured here yet, but even if I never do it is nice to hear about them.
And if you don't like it it really isn't that difficult to just scroll past the article and click on something else.
@Yellowgerbil The other problem with those ratings is that you have to play the game for at least an hour before you can rate it. So if someone dislikes a game so much that they couldn't bring themself to play that long they can't let others know. It's probably better to have this system then letting you rate something without even booting it up, but it still has problems.
@evanescent_hero Actually, "the cake is a lie" is written on the wall in one of Ratman's dens in the first Portal game.
The Nyancat guy has a good case because the character is original. Keyboardcat, maybe. I think that the lawsuit rests on the use of Nyancat.
And something that nobody seems to be grasping is that a copyright comes into existence the moment the work in question is created. Registering a copyright makes it easier to defend, but you can still defend your copyright provided that you can prove that your work existed before it was used by someone else. Trademarks on the other hand become invalid if it moves from being a Proper noun to just a noun in public use. For example, Kleenex, shopvac, and even dumpster all used to be registered trademarks. All of those names became are now used to refer to anything that is in that same roduct category. However, when someone refers to Nyancat they don't mean A Nyancat, they mean THE Nyancat. I'm not sure about Keyboardcat. It does seem though like that would be something you could trademark, but I'm not so sure about copyright unless it was that SPECIFIC picture/video. I'm also unsure of if Trademark comes comes into existence the moment something is made. I don't think it does.
@Intrepid Saying something will be available "shortly" isn't really assuming a date. It's a fairly relative term, and when people have already been waiting so long, sometime this year could be seen as "shortly."
People have been begging for a new top-down Zelda game for years (as if somehow PH and ST weren't) and now people are saying they don't want to pay full price for a retail size game?
I would also like to note that the footage shown is from an in development game and is liable to change. It says so right in front of the downloadable trailer on the eShop.
@DarkCoolEdge They said they weren't bringing the last Guild 01 game over because it is too dependent on Japanese pop culture that wouldn't make any sense in the west.
There are still about 7 1/2 months left of the 25th anniversary. At the very least Capcom is doing more for this franchise's 25th than Nintendo did for Metroid's.

@rjejr You feel like an idiot when you learn something new? That's sad.
Re: Nintendo Confirms Smash Bros., 3D Mario and Mario Kart for E3 Nintendo Direct
@Shiryu If they bring in characters from other franchises I want it to be Nintendo franchises. There is already a Sonic kart racing game.

Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For 17th May, Covering Summer Titles on Wii U and 3DS
@Jese_1 I'm looking forward to Yarn Yoshi.
Re: LEGO Friends Coming to 3DS and DS
There are actually many female character disguises in LEGO City Undercover.
These figures are actually compatible with other LEGO things. I'm not a fan of them, but at least their hair fits on regular minifigs.

Re: Insomniac Not Working On Wii U, Considers It More "Current Gen" Than "Next Gen"
@moroboshi The CPU may be slower but it is way more efficient which more than makes up for that.
Re: Rumour: The Recent Wii U System Update Has Boosted Clock Speeds
As far as I'm aware we never got the full picture from the die shots. Wasn't there around 30% that no one could figure out what it was for?
Re: Life of Pixel Could Make It To Wii U Should It Meet Kickstarter Stretch Goal
@Midnight3DS That's kind of irrevelent considering that Sony isn't involved with this.

@bizcuthammer Summer doesn't end until September. I'm pretty sure more big retail games will be here by then.

@Zaphod_Beeblebrox It looks like a Minecraft clone.
Re: Orion's Odyssey: A Pattern Blocks Adventure Reboots Kickstarter Campaign

Re: Nintendo "Didn't Know What To Do" With The Wii Vitality Sensor
@Whirlpool Pulse sensors aren't exactly a new technologyâI doubt accuracy was an issue.
Re: Nintendo To Reveal Retro's New Wii U Game "In The Not So Distant Future"
@Onett I don't think they have since then, but before that Capcom also made the Oracle games.
Re: Exclusive: Tengami Confirmed For Wii U Release
@19Robb92 Not true. There are lots of great iOS games.
Re: Kickstarter For Ecco The Dolphin Successor Sinks Beneath The Waves
@SirQuincealot Kickstarter project creators don't get any money at all until and if the project reaches its goal. They never saw any of that 50k.
Re: Japanese Wii U Virtual Console Launches With 14 Titles Available To Download
What's Downtown Nekketsu KĊshinkyoku Sore Yuke Dai UndĊkai?
And why doesn't Nintendo just put all of the games on the Wii VC on the Wii U right off the bat?
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th April 2013 (North America)
Wow, there's at least one vote for everything. That seems rare.
Re: Nintendo: 3DS eShop And App Store Comparison Is "Quality" Versus "Quantity"
There is one thing my iPod has over my 3DS in the controls department: multitouch.
Re: New Zelda Documentary Seeks To Explain The Cultural Significance Of The Series
@HeatBombastic It's relatively not really that much money for a movie.
Re: 3DS Disney Infinity Name And Details Revealed
@Zodiak13 You know you don't have to buy your child any toy he/she desires, right?
Re: Rumour: Take-Two To Reveal Next-Gen Versions of Grand Theft Auto V At Investor Call
I'd actually prefer to have Wii U thought of as a "kiddie" console than have morally bankrupt developers like Rockstar develop for it.
Re: Review: The Croods: Prehistoric Party! (3DS)
@Wilford111 Well, they granted a license to the developer, but that's about it.

Re: BearShark Game Coming To The 3DS eShop
I personally can't stand the Dinosaur Office shorts. The voices are so grating. BearShark is decent, but I can't imagine a good game coming out of it.
Re: First Impressions: The Legend of Zelda 3DS
"New Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Future 3D"âI don't know, it's a little wordy. Especially when you add a "the" in there.

@Sonicfan11589 That's a dangerous promise. Anyone who has followed the game Star Command at all will know what I mean.

I just wish he weren't animating in Flash.
Re: Video: Check Out These Three Guild02 Games in Action
@DarkCoolEdge They said they weren't bringing the last Guild 01 game over because it is too dependent on Japanese pop culture that wouldn't make any sense in the west.
Re: Review: The Croods: Prehistoric Party! (Wii U)
When a trailer/commercial has a VoiceOver like that, odds are it's crap.
Re: Nintendo to Pull the Plug on Several Online Wii Channels
@Ren Of course on the Xbox you have to pay over $100 a year for Xbox Live Gold to use Netflix.
Re: Bass and Treble Figures Turning Up In The U.S. This Summer
@Raycon I suppose so. It was really late when I posted my previous comment and miscalculated this year as being Megaman's 25th instead of last year.
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th April 2013 (North America)
@idork99 There's a lot of new stuff!
Re: Animal Crossing: New Leaf Pricing Emerges On North American eShop
@DerpSandwich Didn't you read the other comments? It does cost the same at retail.
