Re: Konami Teases "More" Bomberman On 6th Anniversary Of Super Bomberman R

JohnnyMind

@Quarbit Personally hope they'll at least release the older games on Switch Online, I played Hero for the first time on the Wii Virtual Console and had a blast, pun intended, although I didn't beat the final boss because it was kind of tough and then got distracted by other games (if you're curious about some more Bomberman games I played as a kid and older check my previous comment)!
By the way, have you played the other N64 Bomberman games?

Re: Mario Movie Directors Explain Their Take On Princess Peach

JohnnyMind

@-wc- I unfortunately doubt it will happen early in the film, but I do hope that at least when they rescue him he'll fight alongside Mario!
While I don't mind the classic "stomping koopas" (I see what you did there), parties, sports etc. I'd love to see more of Mario's various jobs even in more recent games, it is such a fun trait of him!
The closest thing we got were the costumes in Odyssey, especially when NPCs were looking for a "insert job here" and even more so him playing a song as a mariachi, plus him dancing with Pauline and the band.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 4th)

JohnnyMind

Tonight most likely Scarlet with my sister and her boyfriend to do the event raids since we're not meeting with our friends this weekend.
Tomorrow I'll go back to my schedule of Persona 5 (right after Kaneshiro's arrest) and alternating between Engage (6 Chapters, 2 Paralogues and 1 Divine down), Scarlet (3 Gyms, 3 Titans and 2 Team Stars down), Sparks of Hope (still on the fourth planet) and Return to Dream Land ("Level" 1 and 2 completed)!

Re: Konami Teases "More" Bomberman On 6th Anniversary Of Super Bomberman R

JohnnyMind

@TopazLink Practically the same, I only had Bomberman 64 for a while and later Bomberman Land Touch games (unfortunately didn't get to play those in multiplayer despite also having a sister)!
@TobiasAmaranth I'd say Bomberman 64 is a good game in its own respect, although I've also never finished it in the sense of unlocking the real last world and so getting the true ending. Doubt they'd ever revisit it which is a shame, but I hope they'll eventually add it at least to Switch Online (that and also its quite different sequel, Second Attack, which I've never got to play except barely with emulation since it never came out in Europe)!
@Mana_Knight The N64 Bomberman games are the ones I'd like to see the most as you can tell from my response above, but the more Bomberman on NSO the better, Wario Blast absolutely included!
@Serpenterror At least Castlevania is now getting a crossover with Dead Cells.

Re: Mario Movie Directors Explain Their Take On Princess Peach

JohnnyMind

@MeloMan It seems that the start, i.e. before they get separated, will also be about the Bros. and I'd say even when Luigi is out of commission the title still fits in that sense because it's Mario's quest to get reunited and rescue his brother Luigi.
By the way, we'll still probably have a good amount of Luigi scenes between the start of the movie I mentioned, after being separated and before being captured, maybe even during à la Paper Mario Peach sections and hopefully after like you suggested!

Re: Mario Movie Directors Explain Their Take On Princess Peach

JohnnyMind

@-wc- Couldn't agree more with @DiggleDog and @Vexx234, I don't think Luigi's Mansion ruined the character because while some will only consider those parts of his personality they forget that he always faces his fears to save those dear to him and that's what true courage is!
By the way, funnily enough Mario has actually don camo in Mario's Bombs Away, a Game & Watch game (although I definitely agree that it's pretty out of character and one of the most random jobs Mario has ever done).

Re: Poll: Six Years On, Which Was Nintendo Switch's Best Year So Far?

JohnnyMind

@Buizel @Grumblevolcano Couldn't agree with you two more, considering not only first party games, but also third parties, ports etc. 2022 for me too (so much so that I have still way too many games from it in my backlog like @BodkinDQ), although 2023 has the potential to beat it.
@Thomystic Didn't mention any game in particular because the list would be way too long but yeah, definitely can't forget those games for 2022. Nice mentions for those other years, too!
@Teksetter Could you at me whenever you vote and comment about it? I'm quite curious to hear which year will end up being the best one for you!
@LikelySatan Well said, why should we arbitrarily ignore games released on Switch? By the way, while I enjoyed the remake I still love Link's Awakening DX (and let's not forget the photos are exclusive to it), good thing we finally have that on Switch, too!

Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online Game Boy Advance Service March 9th

JohnnyMind

@Clyde_Radcliffe That I agree with and while I get why releasing more than one N64 game at a time could be a bad idea (look at how Ocarina, Paper Mario etc. went) not much so with Game Boy (Color) and Advance games where emulation is way easier (some exceptions being the games that require special controls like Tilt 'n' Tumble).
Still, my point stands, it's just the start of the month and so we could get at least one more game by the end of it.
And honestly, it doesn't matter that much for me with all the games in my backlog, games coming out every month and how much I pay for Nintendo Switch Online and the Expansion Pack (only €10 a year since I share a family plan with my sister and friends, can't recommend it enough if you're able to) so I'm just happy whenever new game(s) get added, even more so when it's something as good as Fusion!

Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online Game Boy Advance Service March 9th

JohnnyMind

@Crono1973 Again, I'm not talking about the drip feeding in general, simply that being just the start of the month we could get at least one more game and people should stop jumping the gun.
I don't get why people's expectations have to always be either too low or too high (not only in this case, it happens all the time with Directs etc.), a middle ground is healthier: there could be more this month, but if there isn't oh well, at least we're getting Metroid Fusion next and soon which is really cool!

Re: Mario Movie Directors Explain Their Take On Princess Peach

JohnnyMind

As long as they don't take it too far (which I honestly doubt from the little we've seen in the trailers) it's for the best since my favorite Peach even in games is the one that has a more active role than just being kidnapped (look at the first two Paper Mario games where she's being kept captive and still takes initiative and shows more of her character).
Plus, Luigi being the damsel in distress is a way more compelling motive for Mario to take on Bowser!

Re: Mario Kart Tour Celebrates All Things Mario With Its Latest Update

JohnnyMind

@Bunkerneath Yep, love that they added SMK Mario and DK Jr.,
would be nice if they added more of if not all those characters!
@Patendo Being able to play new and classic games online together with friends and/or family is the best!
@victordamazio Undoubtedly and honestly, apart from the typical mobile game garbage mechanics Mario Kart Tour is quite an interesting twist on the classic Mario Kart formula (going for combos instead of just first place, character specific items back, track variants etc.) which is why I still play it!
@rockodoodle I wouldn't say that, on the contrary if Mario Kart Tour didn't exist we wouldn't have the Booster Course Pass and it's far from guaranteed we would already have a new game instead!

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 Launches Next Week

JohnnyMind

@MrGam3andBu1ld I won't mention datamines and speculation based on them, but please do tell me if you're interested!
Koopa Cape and Rainbow Road are already in Tour so they could come in Wave 5 and/or 6!
Yeah, Mario Circuit would've been a fine pick had Luigi's Mansion and/or Airship Fortess, both already in Tour, had already been added to 8 Deluxe, but they haven't been so...
Daisy Cruiser, Dino Dino Jungle and also DK Mountain are already in Tour so fingers crossed we'll get most if not all of them!
The Bowser's Castle from Tour are GBA 1, 2, 3 and the 3DS one, personally hope we'll get at least the latter.

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd March (North America)

JohnnyMind

The poll is broken for me, too.
Anyway, the only one I'm considering is Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, not sure if it would be too much for me as exercise, but I absolutely love the theme, it was such a nice (and hilarious) surprise during the Direct!
@shonenjump86 Didn't know or at least forgot it had a demo, I should check it out! And yes, I would also appreciate a review of it here on Nintendo Life.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 Launches Next Week

JohnnyMind

So much sooner than I expected, love to see it!
The only "stinker" is DS Mario Circuit (although luckily only in comparison and they could have added a new route like Peach Gardens as speculated and potentially confirmed by what @PikaPhantom mentioned).
Other than that, good to see even more Tour city tracks and especially the non-city one since it's Yoshi's Island to avoid losing them when eventually that game unfortunately shuts down, Waluigi Stadium as the first Double Dash track in the pass, DK Summit is just great and I love the remakes of GBA courses, Riverside Park absolutely included!

Re: Video: 7 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In March 2023

JohnnyMind

Preordered Metroid Prime Remastered (actually arrived today, one day earlier), Bayonetta Origins, (haven't played any Bayonetta game so this spin-off will be my first one), Atelier Ryza 3 (still have to play the other games, but I want to play the full series at some point).
I'll eventually get the Sparks of Hope DLC, Dead Cells and its DLC.
I'm also considering ONI (want to check reviews first), Fitness Boxing (not sure if it's for me, but I love the Fist of the North Star theme), Fatal Frame (horror games aren't my forte, but I love this series's concept).

Re: Hands On: Bayonetta Origins Is Shaping Up To Be An Elegant, Enchanting Spin-Off

JohnnyMind

@Shambo Of course there are cases where the price of games is actually inflated, but here we're talking about a completely new Nintendo game with the standard price for that kind of product so I just can't see why the developers and publishers should undersell their work from the start.
Hopefully down the line there will be discounts to potentially appeal to those who don't want to or can't spend that much, getting at least closer to a "fair trade" between most if not all customers and the producers.

Re: Hands On: Bayonetta Origins Is Shaping Up To Be An Elegant, Enchanting Spin-Off

JohnnyMind

@Shambo The gist of my discourse is that one thing is buying a game at a lower price because that's how much you feel it's worth it for you and in that sense I couldn't agree more, another is saying that a game should cost less from the start just because of any personal opinion since I feel that's disrespectful of all the work done by the people involved in its creation, distribution etc.
