Re: Review: Portal: Companion Collection - A Nintendo Debut For Two All-Time Greats

The loading screens were always the issue no matter what platform you played these games on, even the PC albeit not taking as long. Still, that has never taken the experience away from me every time I play these games and are well worth a play. I will admit that the PC versions are the best way to play these (not talking about performance), as they have more to offer, especially with the community test chambers in Portal 2, but this is still a great way to experience the games once again, like I'm doing on the Switch. Well worth a purchase.

I honestly don't get why people are complaining about a Partner Direct. This is still something good as it's more games coming to the platform this year and possibly early next year. A full-on Nintendo Direct will probably happen soon, but until then, bring on this Partner Direct.

@Banjo- The legal issue don't just lie with MJ but possibly Sony as I believe they own all of his music now, the other names that were credited and who were affiliated with MJ and since about 2008, Fervor Records. IceCap Zone as we know is essentially 16-bit Hard Times, but at the time of composing music for the game Hard Times went unreleased, that is until Fervor Records got the entire The Jetzons music catalogue and released their unreleased tracks.

@darkswabber Just to point out that Birth by Sleep was never on the PS2 and was initially a PSP exclusive until the 2.5 HD collection. Also, if that was also referring to Chain of Memories as a Japanese exclusive, that's not right either. Re:Chain of Memories saw a US release on the PS2 and later other places outside the US and Japan via the 1.5 HD collection. On top of that, it was initially the Final Mix versions that were exclusive to Japan until these collections came out initially on the PS3.

@zoneseek Brad Buxer did collaborate for Sonic 3, but I doubt he is the reason. If you're looking at the credits which later became Stranger In Moscow, then that's down to Michael Jackson's Estate. If you're looking at IceCap Zone which used the unreleased track Hard Times by The Jetzons, then that's now down to Fervor Records who owns the entire The Jetzons catalogue.

So here's the thing. The music is the strongest factor from this possibly not getting re-released, but you can't just pin it down to Michael Jackson and his estate. There's other factors like Fervor Records. If you don't know who they are, they are the record company that owns the catalogue for the early 1980s new wave group, The Jetzons and the unreleased song that got used for IceCap Zone, Hard Times.
