@ Prosody: thanks, good point. Hope it is, though. I really think Nintendo need to start using a mature, migratory account system like the other systems and PC/Steam.
@JamieO; I'm tempted to 'adopt' the inevitable earlier Japanese version, too, but it'll depend for me on the whether this locks you to a region-specific download store, etc.
Wow, so much speculation...genuinely stoked for the 3DS, me...
I think it'll be Xmas for Japan, and Spring for the rest of us.
Does anyone know, by the way, whether DSi accounts will be transferable? Sorry if this was mentioned somewhere but I missed it in all the excitement...
Top marks to the NintendoLife crew for their E3 coverage. It's been superb, especially the new easy-to-navigate banner on the frontpage.
DK looks great, but hope they've got a more forgiving save system this time though. No more having to save coins to 'buy' saves, please! And no more having to complete 2 or more levels after beating a boss to find a save point, either!
I don't get some of these comments. Why should anyone 'like' Yamauchi? Because he's been on record saying he doesn't get or like videogames? Because he's a ruthless businessman, and if he'd been able to keep Nintendo profitable with some other venture instead of videogames he'd have done it? Nintendo is not our friend - haha! Anyway, good on him. A great and meaningful contribution.
Why don't they put some of that mega-profit into expanding their staff base? There's loads of talent flying around. Nintendo were mad not to snaffle up the entire 'Seeds/Platinum Games' team when they were pushed out of Capcom, for example.
Can you save your progress in this game, or is it all about the suspend feature? (Sorry, bit sensitive to save issues after hearing some people moaing about re-starts in Castlevania rebirth)
I've been wanting a new Castlevania but have been dithering lile a fool. Adventure Rebirth on Wii looks great but I haven't got time/patience right now for the 'start again from beginning every time' idea. Is Rondo of Blood better than Castlevania IV on SNES...and also, does it allow saves/continues? Thanks for info.
Interesting, Corbie. I wonder why Nintendo are against updates and bug fixes...that's one of the benefits of online gaming, isn't it, the chance to fix stuff? As lojng as it doesn't, as Primeris warns, lead to developers rush releasing broken stuff with the intention of fixing it later...
Well...the only things I'm really looking forward to on Wii anymore are the 3 or 4 firstparty titles we've been 'promised', although I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple slip back onto the Wii 2.
The market for videogames was much smaller in the late 1980s. Despite popularity it was still seen as somewhat niche - even nerdy - and had nowhere near the spread we see nowadays. Now it's the biggest entertainment industry on the planet, apart from pornography of course, so I think the market is diverse enough to support all kinds of shovelware without imploding. That said, I do wish Nintendo would get a grip on it in order to re-associate their consoles with quality.
for as long as nintendo keep printing money, iwata can afford to keep his head wedged up his butt. i think his response was alarmingly complacent and a bit silly, even tho i hav to admit i think the only positive about the ipad is that it'll keep muggers gainfully employed.
as for looking weird in 3d glasses: VIRTUALBOY, anyone?
Just goes to show that you don't need to go to the effort and expense of providing your customers with credible and innovative games in order to turn an obscene profit. Go Nintendo!

Re: E3 2010: DS's Upcoming Line-up
Dragon Quest IX will be last game I buy for my DS...then it's time to upgrade - Yay!
Re: E3 2010: Live Text - Nintendo's Media Presentation
I love the E3 banner on frontpage - 'LIVE with Corbie'
LOL - E3...now with added Corbie...!!!
Re: Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies Teaser Trailer
Is this primarily meant to be played as a team-based wifi experience or is there a decent single player too?
Re: Nicalis Drops Hints at Further Pixel Ports
just get cave story and la mulana out, then we'll talk the 'next' thing...
Re: Mario Enters the Shuffle with Nintendo Playing Cards
Eh? I didn't know you could get Nintendo Hanafuda cards!!! Woot! Might actually make the game easier to play...thanks guys!
/goes to check/
Re: Mario Enters the Shuffle with Nintendo Playing Cards
Hanafuda ones, please. That would be more authentic early-Nintendo.

easier just to chuck your wii on the fire.
Re: Oh Look, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Sold Better Than Expected
One of those sales was mine. Alas, online matchmaking was so balked that I traded it back within a week.

There must be an error, as clearly these were destined for me. Sorry, Bakajin. Please pm me for forwarding address. Ta.
Re: Jam With the Band Calls Europe on Stage on 21st May
The Midi-synth sounds in Daigasso are cringeworthy. Hope they've improved it for this release. No good having a music game when it sounds this bad.

Re: Miyamoto: 2010 Will Be Great For Hardcore Nintendo Fans
A great year, he says, yet only 2 of his 'hardcore' titles are confirmed for release this year? This is not 'great', in my estimation. Sorry.
Re: Advance Wars Reaches New Levels of Boardom
Ace. This game is now destined to make chess obsolete.
Re: Sony: 3D Handheld Gaming Might Not Work
Idiot. In 18 months there'l be a 3D PSP with a dayglo pingpong ball glued to it.
Re: DS Successor To Offer 3D Gaming

Re: Call Nintendo Life Live, Tonight!
So that's what, about midnight or 1 ish UK time? The only calls I make around that time involve heavy breathing. Would that be OK?
Re: WarioWare D.I.Y. Tutorial Videos 1 & 2
Looks a bit easier than LittleBigPlanet, that's for sure!
Re: Review: Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)

Re: Trailer: Metroid: Other M FMV Teaser
Team Ninja first order of business: give Samus the obligatory/signature Team Ninja boob job. Good work.

Marvelous deserve a medal, both for this and their commitment to bring Japanese stuff to the West. I love them...
Re: Dead Space Extracted From Wii?
As SweetMurd suggested, LBP is a Sony flagship title.
You'd be just as (un)likely to see Mario on PS3.
Re: Dead Space Extracted From Wii?
@ AlexSays:
It's not 'theirs' and doesn't 'belong' to them. I bought it on PC so it belongs to me, me, me...to me y'hear?
Re: Flipper finally gets a launch date
Those screenshots are...INSPIRATIONAL!
Re: The Grinder Gets a Release Date; Goes Multi-Platform
I guess it makes sense to go multiplatform, what with everyone complaining about 'hardcore' (whatever that means) games not selling well on Wii.

Re: Review: No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle (Wii)
it's getting late, boys - come on now, tomorrow's a school day.
Re: Review: No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle (Wii)
it's nonsense to say grasshopper games are deliberately rough and ready coz they be punks, etc.
killer 7, their finest game so far imo, was as tight and polished as you could ask.
this just sounds a bit shoddy.

Re: Max & the Magic Marker Coming to Europe January 22
Max looks like a petulant little sod, doesn't he? Looks like he's got an ASBO. Needs a good cuffing!
