Great review. Like the new avatar too, Sean. Looks strangely less sinister, whilst also strangely more so. From narcotic procurement pose to late Nu-Metal pose. Tremendous work all round. 10/10. Happy New Year!
Just finished Toki Tori only last night! (Forty 'normal' levels, anyway, not counting the hard ones - normal were hard enough!) Amazing game. If this is anywhere near as ingenious it'll be a must have.
Toki Tori is amazing (stuck on level six of Bubble Barrage), so I've got full confidence Two Tribes can make this work. The gameplay animations from a few weeks back looked mad.
Apologies for my cynicism, I just never understood the psychology of buying the same piece of consumer electronics again in a different colour, as if one might wear it out to a party or something.
True. Baddies always done well in Castlevania. Seems like for the hero, though, the animators are still stuck in the idea that Michael Jackson's moonwalk is the height of cool.
Why does the protagonist of every Castlevania game run as though they've just soiled their pants? There's retro-cool and there's lousy animation, and that's lousy animation.
the amount of 'it looks gay' references here are a bit sad. looks no gayer than the real man's man marcus fenix bonding with his gears buddies, to me. anyway, why not? i play games as escapism, and this slice of otaku camp is way outside my day to day. cannot wait!
Why have Nintendo limited players 3 and 4 to being two measly Toads? Couldn't some other - more interesting characters - characters have been optioned? I'm sure there are a few in the back catalogue...
Hope they continue with the excellent wifi mutiplayer options of the first game. Had a lot of fun online with that, even though it was marred by cheats who tended to disconnect just prior to losing so you couldn't get the 'win' credit. Hope Nintendo can implement a punitive anti-cheat system, too, like getting a 'loss' by default for disconnect. Tee hee!
I think Chrono Cross was on the money: any fool could at any time announce that a new Mario game is coming...and they'd always be right. In fact, I'll do it now: there's a new Mario game coming, and it ain't the ones you know about. You heard it here first... **touches side of nose, knowingly**
But the FPS modding scene is at an entirely different level of expertise than the kind of any-idiot-can-have-a-go thing Shigeru is (belatedly) driving at. I think, anyway?
I really don't want to believe that Shigeru-san really uses contemptible manager-speak like "going forward"? I hope it was a skewed translation of "in the future" or "at some point" or something...
Speaking of Warioware DIY (as some have): where is it? Seems to have dropped off release schedules after underperforming in Japan. Man, I hope it's still enroute...
Just completed the PC version (yep, I'm a little late to that party), and I'd says it's pretty good, although not much less 'on rails' than house of the dead. I'm not bothered about the Wii graphics as everythng moves so fast and chaotically in the game, but still it's not an experience I'm desperate to repeat on my favourite console.
Want online multiplayer. Dont want to sit on sofa at xmas playing alongside my sozzled granny and baby nephew. Know it wont happen, though, Shigeru-san said Wii isnt powerful enough (?!)... Moan moan moan...

Re: More Epic Mickey Details: Inspired by Mario and Zelda
After all the hoop-la and genuinely stunning artists' impressions, the screens look pretty pants and sub-generic, don't they?

If this list is as reliable as the September one...

Epic. And more innovative than the game itself, arguably...

Re: Mahjong Coming To WiiWare On Friday
I 2nd/3rd/4th the calls for a real Mahjong game instead of this match-em-up caper.
Re: Japanese Club Nintendo Members Get Game & Watch Goodness
OK I s'pose...but do they get glorious wallpapers and ringtones like us? Hmm? HMMM?!?!
Re: Original Castlevania Ported To Half-Life 2, Sort Of
Looks a lot less linear than Half Life 2 itself!
Fnah fnah...
Re: Interviews: Mecho Wars - Luc Bernard
More games developers should look like Luc Bernard.
The Russell Brand of machine code!
Re: Jackal ReBirth - The Next Konami ReBirth Game?
Great detective work, there!

Re: Infinity Ward Unhappy With Wii's Power
The Nintendo DS, however, IS powerful enough to run COD:MW2.
This man has either forgotten what his company is developing, or is talking a lot of breeze.

Fig 1: Oh No.
Fig 2: NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO.

Re: DSi XL Footage For Your Viewing Pleasure
Mods, there's a problem with the title of this article. The word 'pleasure' should be omitted.
Re: Miyamoto Ready to Cough Up Nintencats Furball?
I love that cat in foto, esp the fact it appears to have no ears. Cats FTW.
Re: Talking Point: How Does The DSi LL Compare To Rival Handhelds?

Re: Interviews: Hudson Entertainment/Pi Studios - Bonk: Brink of Extinction
another terrific NL interview/scoop. you guys deserve an award.
Re: Review: Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility (Wii)
unless some serious change is imminent, this franchise needs to be trotted out to quiet corner of a field, put to sleep, and boiled down for glue.
Re: Review: Shinobi (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
they're different. revenge is sequel. mega drive only tho, not arcade.
@reala - thanks

Re: Review: Shinobi (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
never played a shinobi game. which is the best option out of those available on VC?
Re: Interviews: Square-Enix - Dragon Quest Wars
I wish Square-Enix would not talk about this and talk about the western release of DQ9 instead.
Re: Muscle March Marches Westward
Want this. Looks like the best slice of Japanese lunacy since Katamari.
Re: Free NES Game Offer Now Available!
There's full instructions for it now on Wii Shop Channel, which helpfully I haven't read...
Re: Free NES Game Offer Now Available!
Wrecking Crew for me.
Re: Black Wii Homes in on Europe
Who needs a new Starfox, Kid Icarus, etc., when you can have a whole different colour? Let the good times roll...

Re: IGA Involved With Castlevania: Rebirth; Next Project Top Secret
@vertigo: good call. I move that top 3 should include 4 in honour of their sheer mentalism.
Re: IGA Involved With Castlevania: Rebirth; Next Project Top Secret
But could you pull off the sinister and copious facial hair to go with the other two? That's the genius of IGA...
Re: The Stars Catalogue Gets More New Things
what is a 'foam wall' exactly? is that something lunatics get their cells padded with?
Re: Review: Heron: Steam Machine (WiiWare)
thanks for trivia sean, i was wondering what herons had to do with it.
Re: IGA Involved With Castlevania: Rebirth; Next Project Top Secret
IGA-san. Officially the craziest Japanese videogame developer, after that boob-obsessed loonbag Wotsisname (formerly) at Tecmo and Suda 'Mad-Dog' 51.

Re: Miyamoto Open To The Idea of User-Generated Content
Given the drought of first-party games (NSMB being the upcoming exception), I'd be up for some Nintendo-generated content.
Arf arf arf...

Re: Dragon's Lair Coming to DSiWare?
Is this a game, can it actually be played? I remember paying a lot to watch it when I was a kid.
Re: Sin and Punishment 2 Comes into Focus
@grenworthshero: if the story makes any sense I'll be disappointed. I think the surreal nonsense added to the lunatic charm of the first game.
Re: Heron: Steam Machine Available on WiiWare this Friday
Looks rather like the most forgettable sections of Bioshock.
Re: LIT Arrives in Europe on October 30th
Great. And would be super-cool if castlevania rebirth came out for halloween too.
Re: Fight Stress With Abylight's New WiiWare Title
the first 7.5 second close-up of the young ladies' breasts were by far the highlight of that video reveal.
edit: it was only 4 seconds. went back to check.
Re: Nintendo Download: Star Wars, Art Style and Escape Game (EU)
Didnt recent Nintendo Europe announcement promise Worms and other goodies before end of Septemer? Let the slippage commence...
Re: Okamiden TGS Trailer Turns The Cute Factor Up to Eleven
Tha looks astonishing for a DS game! Will get. Loved the original!
Re: Trent Reznor Big Fan of Nintendo
Whenever I'm penning music-for-teens-to-self-harm-by, I too find there's nothing quite like a good game of SMW to get the creative juices flowing.

Re: WiiWare & DSiWare London Event - WiiWare Coverage
Thanks for info Tom Nanaki (any relation of Nook?). Worms sounds like a must-buy.
