Looks like more of the similar to me. Which as far as I'm concerned is just perfect. Got my 120 stars a while back (which was not 'easy', I might say), so I'll probably go back and polish off 121 more as Luigi by way of warm-up!
That men-in-spacesuits shot is just atrocious. Currently halfway through the PC game, and the incessant jump-out scaremongering is starting to grate. My interest is waning.
I love the way some people here are defending piracy as a democratic force for the less well-off, a way of kicking back against over-pricing, etc. Nice way to justify being thieves, guys!
Fantastic. Superb Value. Unusually un-exploitative of Nintendo, who tend to milk their heritage almost as much as Square-Enix, but I shall not grumble further...because this is just excellent! (obviously I'm hoping there's a EU release!)
I thought the first game was poor. The openworld/dayjob/driving sections were lame and the fights/character-driven sections were nowhere near as lunatic or enjoyable as those in Killer 7 - which is, in fact, a work of genius.
I guess because, no matter how well it (ostensibly) plays, it LOOKS like a generic cart racer with a Saturday morning cartoon matinee feel and everyone's got what no doubt they consider to be the superior Mario Kart. Like Jonny above, no review in the world would persuade me buy it.
Luc Bernard's presentations reminded me of the junkie towards the end of Withnail and I. Anyway, hard to improve on GBA Advance Wars, which is perfection.
This takes me back...Sam Fox Strip Poker on the C64. Ah, those were the days. Astonishingly, the lady in the screenshot looks even more pixellated than Ms. Fox of yore!
I've been pumpin my scratch card numbers in there for for the last 4/5 years or so, from GBA Advance Wars and Metroid Fusion onwards through games and systems galore, and apart from some screensavers I've not got much out!
Nice review. This only further confirms my already confirmed decision to get this game. The one niggling point is the longevity. Is it really as much of a marathon as I've heard? I'm afraid I'm a little time poor at the moment...
I've never played Staffy/Starfy/Stiffy but the sugar-factor looks set to rot my few remaining good teeth. Is it really as saccharine as it looks? (I've just finished Kirby Ultra DS and I'm all cuted out.)
18 certificates don't stop parents getting GTA games for their kids on other platforms, so I don't think that's the reason. More like non-existent marketing, I'd suggest,
Terrific (set of) games, with so much love and detail poured in. Arena is indeed rock hard - I can't get past more than 12 bosses! But the rest is pretty moderate in difficulty and all the more enjoyable for it: you can choose which abilities to copy and experiment with purely for fun, rather than because you have to to progress. I love it. Almost as good as Canvas Curse. (Great Kirby review day/love-in, by the way, reviewer guys!)
Just completed. A fantastic puzzle game, with some superbly evil level designs over the last 3 floors. Everything is completely fair and logical, though, it just takes some patience. This and Solomon's Key (which only just pips Lolo for my affections) are by far my favourite NES downloads.
Good 1st impressions as per usual. Seems like Bubble Bobble is the pick of the Taito bunch so far, though, Sean? Might take the plunge later this week if it appears as promised...

Re: Nintendo's E3 Conference: Predictions
New Super Mario Bros 2 for WiiWare, downloadable immediately after conference.
Re: Super Mario Logo Spotted At E3?
Woot. Off to eurogamer.net for the live conference report I shall go.
Re: Konami Confirms Zephyr: Rise Of The Elements For WiiWare
Is this the first in a series of natural-disaster-em-ups?
Can I trademark 'Tsunami: Catch The Wave!'
Re: Tales Of Monkey Island coming to WiiWare
Damn, you're right! Still, it doesn't suit him. Looks like an emo-pirate, now.
Re: Tales Of Monkey Island coming to WiiWare
Terrific news. Although the 'Curse' of Monkey Island is my fave.
But since when did Threepwood have a goatee?! This won't do, unless they make some gags out of it...

That is awesome. I love Japan, me!

Re: Review: Bit.Trip: Beat (WiiWare)
@Betagam7: I guess you haven't played far enough to get to the Pong bits?
Re: Review: Photo Clock (DSiWare)
The thoroughness of NintendoLife is commendable, and so too is Corbie's tenacity of purpose, but do we really need clock reviews?
Re: Devil May Cry Coming To Wii?
DMC 1 and 3 are the best 3rd person action games I've ever played. If we get something in any way comparable on Wii, that'll be superb!

@Prosody: no, really?

Re: Bit.Trip: Beat
Just beat last level (Growth) with 2,500,000 points. I am a golden god!
Re: Review: Crystal Defenders R2 (WiiWare)
@ KS8: you forgot to score Corbie's review. Tut tut. This means I'll review your review of the review at 6/10.
Re: Review: Crystal Defenders R2 (WiiWare)
What does the 'R' in these two separate games stand for, rip-off?
Harrumph...
Re: Review: PDC World Championship Darts 2009 (Wii)
Sid Waddell, genius darts commentator. To wit:
"If his mum cooks chips as well as her son throws arrows, i know where i'm having tea tonight!"
"There's only one word for that: magic darts!"
Re: Review: Minon: Everyday Hero (Wii)
almost as mad as katamari, sounds like from tiptop review.
Re: Review: Swords & Soldiers (WiiWare)
I love this. And I love Plants vs Zombies. Both games have nailed and distilled their respective genres.
Re: Review: Swords & Soldiers (WiiWare)
Ace review. Sounds great. I'm off to the shop...

Long may it continue - Huzzah!
Re: Nintendo Life Exclusive - Bit.Trip Core E3 Trailer
That looks stunning. And by the time it comes out I may be able to get to the end of Descent!
Re: Swords & Soldiers Wages War in Europe Next Week
@Drake: terrific fun, aint it? Hope it gets the DS treatment like Peggle did. Love to be able to play it 'on-the-go'.
Anyway, don't want to detract from S&S...
Re: Swords & Soldiers Wages War in Europe Next Week
Excellent news. I'm well into my PopCap 'Plants versus Zombies' now, and this looks like it'll complement it nicely.
@BassXO: don't you know you're meant to say 'FIRST'? You'll only upset people if you don't observe the correct etiquette...
Re: Bit.Trip Bug!
This would cheese me off mightily if I'd bought in the US.
Re: Review: Animal Crossing Clock (DSiWare)
10 out of 10 to Corbie for managing to review a clock.
Re: Capcom Announces Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth for Western Release
I've only got Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. About time I got back into this superb series...

5,000 points?!

Fair comment. You probably couldn't fit a PS3 in a closet.
