This is just an extreme generalization of Switch gamers, as there definitely will be people that want 3D models in the games they play. It’s actually kind of funny how Coster states the next decade will set 2D games apart from 3D, when in reality there is already a great amount of oversaturation in the “2D pixel art” style of games, especially on the eShop. This doesn’t mean all of them are bad, just that the style is starting to get a little tired and unoriginal.
“It's a relatively straightforward pad at an affordable price, that you'll be able to assign to the person who places last in your Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments.” Wow, even Nintendo Life knows this 3rd party stuff isn’t great.
@IHateTombs Lots of people asked for a second LEGO Movie. Less than a year after it came about, rumors about its production were all over the internet. Plus, WB and Traveller’s Tales always capitalize on popular media with LEGO videogames (just look at LEGO Dimensions).
Jokes aside, this seems pretty intriguing, especially with the cross play with non-gaming platforms, such as iOS. Just from the trailer, it is evident that the game could have a deep story and mind-racking puzzles.
These are great choices, definitely not riding the trend train. Why else would a video game company pick a Top 10 channel, a beauty channel, and skit youtubers to promote their newest installment in an extremely popular game franchise? (It seems like less than or equal to half the channels are related to gaming. Matthew Santoro is very mind boggling, as well as his attempt at including a sponsorship into his usually clickbait videos.)
@NOELQUEZON Brawlhalla plays extremely differently from Smash Bros. I, myself, tried playing BH as it was advertised as a free fighter with Smash elements. I am a huge fan of Smash, but it was very hard to play more than a few matches of Brawlhalla.
@BensonUii Isn’t that already a controller option? I think in previous games you could use the D-Pad as a movement option (Even though it’s usually used for taunts).
@HobbitGamer I like to think that it’s just Epona cosplaying as Link, going to Comic-Con between games to raise popularity. Meanwhile, Link is just slashing monsters and wondering why someone named him Lonk in every single game.
Wow, this is the longest comment thread I’ve seen on this site. Even some of the really hot articles with controversial or political topics don’t come close to this. I guess some people just really don’t like casual gamers.
I think this spokesperson might be severely underestimating the time it takes to unlock characters on purpose. Going by previous releases, if you really put effort into the game, unlocking all of the characters or at least most of them in a few hours could happen. But with this kind of roster, it would make more sense if they started making unlocking characters progressively harder, like in Brawl and other entries. He might also be referring to getting characters in an unconventional way, like how Subspace allowed you to grind for new fighters. Tl;dr: Don’t assume that this guy has perfect estimates.
I’m not one to judge articles like this, but if discussing hacking of current-gen consoles is forbidden in the forums, then why is it always okay for it to be mentioned in NL articles?

Re: Knights Of Pen And Paper 2 Brings The Ultimate Role-Playing Experience To Switch eShop Next Month
@Bermanator It’s most likely the devs’ compromise for removing in-game purchases. But yes, the price is stupid expensive.

Re: Knights Of Pen And Paper 2 Brings The Ultimate Role-Playing Experience To Switch eShop Next Month
@Liam_Doolan I think you meant a release date of December 2018, instead of 2019.
I hope this voice acting isn’t in the final product.

It’s not exactly the most surprising thing that could happen. If Dark Souls can get an amiibo, then why not Diablo III?
