Even with the launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the horizon, there are still a handful of smaller games targeting a 2018 December release. Cutting it fine is Kyy Games' Knights of Pen and Paper 2 - Deluxiest Edition, a follow-up to the original game released on the Switch eShop earlier this year. The sequel is now expected to arrive on the 13th for $12.99.
From today, you can pre-order the game. You'll also be able to pre-order the digital bundle which includes the original game for $22.49 (20% off). The second title is more of the same, where you assemble and control a party of heroes who are then taken on a turn-based retro adventure by a dungeon master. It has all the fun of classic pen and paper role-playing, with none of the lost dice.
If you're more interested in the physical pack announced by Super Rare Games in July, you'll just have to hold out until early next year. While you wait for the release, be sure to take a look at the sequel's trailer above.
Have you played the original Knights of Pen and Paper game? Would you be interested in trying out the sequel or picking up the physical release? Tell us below.

atleast it looks like it has content?
Sweet, the first game looks fun, I might grab it in the weekend
@Liam_Doolan I think you meant a release date of December 2018, instead of 2019.
I hope this voice acting isn’t in the final product.
Why pay 13 bones for this when I can get it on Android for free? A controller doesn't seem fitting for a game like this anyway. There is no movement whatsoever.
@Bermanator It’s most likely the devs’ compromise for removing in-game purchases. But yes, the price is stupid expensive.
I still think the lack of a traditional d&d on wiiu was a missed opportunity.
As for this game I shall wait on reviews.
Edit: apparently my initial comment was confusing. Editing for clarity.
Can we stop, please? I love all the iospirts coming to Switchbut I don’t have enough time to play it!
Not by the original devs, and it shows. Sunk some time into the pc version, and went back to the original. Now give us Galaxy of p&p (which is by the original devs, and not a mobile cashgrab), and Ill happily pay $15.
This is actually a fun and trippy game, but I probably won't double dip.
@Ryu_Niiyama What D&D was missing on the WIIU that was on other platforms???
@YANDMAN I’m sorry? I never said anything about other systems. I don’t understand the point of your question.
Played the first one a lot on my phone, and it's actually a well crafted and well written little game. I may pick this up over Christmas.
@PolarExperience doubt it, before the smartphone port the game was PC only and wasn't free neither.
Way too expensive for a crumby iPhone game. I played until I hit the paywall on my phone a couple years back, but I don’t have the patience to grind these sorts of things anymore.
Please fire whoever directed that trailer, because he or she doesn’t know what they are doing.
@Ryu_Niiyama Well surely if you are claiming a D&D game was missing on the WIIU i assumew that this game actually exists on other systems? besides the WIIU has both of the excellent Capcom D&D games present.
@YANDMAN what are you talking about? Why would you make that assumption if that wasn’t what I said? Anyway I wasn’t referring to the side scrolling beat em ups at all. This video references a table top d&d experience and I said it was a missed opportunity that a d&d as in a traditional d&d game didn’t appear on the wiiu. My comment had nothing to do with other systems but I will update my original post since it seems to be a source of confusion.
@Ryu_Niiyama oh so you are talking absolute speculation.
