The fake scanlines on page 6 and 7 are interesting. They are definitely added to the image, not from an actual CRT (you can see the edges of some of the actual lines on the crt up end on the wrong side of the scanline). I guess even in 1996 they thought that they helped with making the image look better at a large size!
There is an error in this article. The Pearl Amiibo gives two different crowns, the Pearlescent Crown L and the Pearlescent Crown S. They both have the ability Sub Resistance Up, since Cold Blooded doesn't exist in Splatoon 3.
It bothers me so much that the graphs for the results of polls on this site makes small percentages all look the same. On my phone 6% looks identical to 1%, despite it being 6x as popular! Maybe it would be better if the numbers were below the bars so that the bars aren't stretched to fit them
I had a lot of issues with the Splatfest World Premiere, but the actual game has been fine so far. I have been playing the single player most of the time, but when I have gone online, I am getting into matches very quickly and am not having issues with disconnecting.
I am going to be so tempted to import one. The cost of getting one to Australia will probably be many times the original cost. Maybe I will just have to settle for watching the video
Wow this is cool. I wonder if they really intended to use the "Nintendo" sound when booting (and changed their minds), or it was just a placeholder. It would be so strange if the DS didn't have the sound they ended up using!
It is probably my Off the Hook Amiibo, or maybe my copy of Wii Play Motion with a very obvious spelling error on the cover. I don't have anything very exciting
My favorite is Mario Kart DS. It is probably just because I played it a lot when I was younger, but it has great courses! I also really like the missions. The other Mario Kart I have played a lot of is Mario Kart Wii. It has worse courses and is missing missions. I still like it a lot though. I have also played quite a lot of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I really don't like how everything is unlocked at the beginning. Other than that it is fine, I like how many courses there are, but I feel like it is exciting to unlock things so I found the game a bit boring. I do have some of the other Mario Karts, but I never really played those as much as the 3 I have mentioned.
It is strange being able to see backlight from the LCD on a screen that is designed to resemble a CRT. I wonder if they make small OLED screens, I think that would look really good
I feel like it is too early to judge the aesthetic of the game. We are only seeing a small part of the game. There will probably be more colorful areas too. The part with the tower looked quite good, but the combat seems very boring. My biggest concern is how it will run on the Switch. The forest part in particular made me worried (but maybe it is just reminding me of Korok Forest from BOTW). I think that Sega have made a mistake with these gameplay videos. It isn't very interesting because we have no idea what is really going on. For example, what is Sonic collecting? What is it's purpose? I am also worried about some of the puzzles. I feel like there is going to be far to much just running around things in a circle.
I am somewhat optimistic about the game still. I feel like it could be really fun being and able to run around in such a large space and up cliffs etc. I just really hope we get a better trailer explaining maybe some of the plot or something.
I feel like Earthbound's biggest issues are how slow and frustrating it is at the beginning, and how long the game spends in Fourside. The other parts of the game are much better. The parts near the end and the end are particularly great!
I didn't even notice the word apartment. I think it is pretty unlikely that there will be apartments. What would be the purpose? Maybe to display achivements or something. If they do introduce apartments that would be cool, but I am not expecting it.
Why did they rename it the Angle Shooter! The Japanese name is much better. Its also a pun, since it looks like a marker and it marks the player. Maybe they could have called it the Angle Marker, if they really want to point out the fact that it reflects off walls at an angle
I first saw this a while ago, but I have just noticed that Judd has all these arrows that say "Yum...". Does Judd want to eat them? That is concerning. Maybe they seem like seafood to him still!
I went there once a long time ago. It wasn't that exciting, but it is sad that it is going. I didn't even know that they had events there. I wonder what they are going to replace it with? Probably just more of EB Games usual shelves.
It looked so good until he mentioned the aspect ratio and blurry image. Until they fix these issues I can't see the point of spending so much on something that has quite significant issues. I would rather use an emulator and get a perfect picture (and save $135!), even if there are some small things that are inaccurate. I really hope that the issues can be fixed, because the idea is excellent!
I wonder if they might still do regional Splatfests? Maybe it will be based on the country the Switch is set to or something. It's nice to be able to buy a copy of the game from anywhere.
In Australia we had the same box as NA, I remember renting it and seeing that box. Quite a few years later I went to an electronics store to buy a used copy, but it was a European copy, so that's now the one I own. I voted NA because I preferred that box. I find the yellow too strong. I do like the folded corner on the Japan/Europe one.
I got mine in late 2017. Right from the beginning I had some slight issues with the cart slot, but they haven't got worse so I have just put up with it. The kickstand is still there, but the little bit of rubber is gone. The back is worn from where my hands touch it, but no cracks. The joycon have had multiple repairs, and the plastic is shiny in spots. They still click in ok though. The Switch always felt like a very delicate device so I never took it out the house much. When I did it stayed in a sturdy Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion themed one. Overall, I am ok with how it has held up. It is much more fragile than the 3DS. I have had my current one since 2014/2015 (can't remember) and it is almost perfect. I used a plastic case on it, so that probably helped a lot. I did purchase a case for the Switch too, but it was irritating to take off for the dock. It also seemed to get too warm with it. The 3DS never generated much heat, but I guess it was much less powerful too.
Sprigatito's eyes do look really off. Try downloading the original and flipping it around. The thumbnail for this article hides it a bit by tilting the image. It's not a disaster, but I would have expected better art for a game as successful as Pokemon.
@Not_Soos I agree. I feel like the Galaxy games are far better. Odyssey gets pretty boring after finishing the story, but most of the other Mario games don't have that issue. Going back and finishing some of the trickier levels in Galaxy or 64 is a lot more enjoyable than running around looking for moons.
It seems strange to me that there are so many riders and only 20 circuits. I have never played any of these games before and I know very little about MotoGP, but is 190 different riders in total seems like so much. Shouldn't they include more circuits instead?
@Clark2k I agree. Splatoon might be one of the most cleverly designed games I have ever played. I find it amazing that the game wasn't even originally intended to have squid characters, they fit so well with the game.
I can see some similarities but the road is completely different between the two versions. The lighting is also much better in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Tour also lacks the mushrooms. The only similar thing is that there are clouds and giant vines, which are hard not include since they were in the original course. The clouds and vines do not look like they are the same model, they have far fewer polygons in Tour.
I believe that it is possible the new courses in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe take inspiration from Tour, and are aesthetically a bit closer to it, but they are not just copying the courses. They are putting in effort to make them more detailed.
Wow that is a very small file size. I have never played any of the Mario Strikers games before, looking forward to maybe being able to play a demo. I like some of the Mario Sport games so hopefully this one will be good too.

@Ryan_Again I think it is just under 3% (I used 3.45/125), which is still very impressive
Re: Splatoon 3 Connection Issues? Looks Like An Update Is On Its Way

(https://splatoonwiki.org/wiki/File:S2_Map_The_Reef_Turf_War.png) Either they are just patenting the map from Splatoon 2, or they just used The Reef as an example because of its bridge. The map in the patent does look very similar to the existing one, but maybe there are some changes that I missed.
