My total hours on the 3DS are 535 hr. My top game was 64 hr playing Kirby Triple Deluxe. That was one of the first 3DS games I got. I remember really liking the Kirby Fighters sub game. I might have even played it more than the Deluxe version which came out later.
I never had a Wii U, but I did have friends who had one so I have played it a little bit. I think the first time I saw it it was actually on an old SD CRT! I remember thinking it was so strange that the Gamepad showed the same screen as the TV (and being quite impressed by the graphics on it!)
I just read a little bit more about FSR, it looks like it is a great idea for Nintendo to use it. I really hope that Nintendo may consider making a console with a higher resolution output, and just use this to get the higher resolution. It also could seriously help the games on the current Switch that just can't quite get 1080p look much better. I am assuming that is what it will be doing for Switch Sports.
I get why they are doing this, but I wonder how many people are going to actually not share anything. It seems like it is something impossible to control.
I actually don't mind if they don't add things like antigravity sections. I never found them very interesting and I am worried that they won't fit with the aesthetic of many of the older courses. It would be really nice to play lots of the N64/ DS courses with upgraded graphics since those have aged poorly. I am also looking forward to playing the Double Dash and Super Circuit courses since I have never played those games.
@Thrallherd I don't think they will. The previous joy-con and pro controllers based on Splatoon 2 were using the green and pink from the logo. I think that they will do yellow and purple this time because of the new logo.
I have a DS Lite that was getting a purple tint on the screen so I opened it up to see how hard it would be to replace, and I never got it together and working again. Another story, long before this happened, when I first got my 3DS, I thought that DS games were too outdated so I sold them all! At least most of the games were pretty bad, but I missed Mario Kart. I didn't learn my lesson though, and I sold all my Xbox 360 games a few years later. Oh well, the only game I really liked was Rayman Legends which I have bought again on the Switch now.
Looks very impressive, but it probably isn't very fun to play since the framerate drops to very low (10 fps often). I wonder how it would run with a less detailed character and less detailed textures. I wonder if it is possible make a proper 3D game run on the GBA, while still having graphics that aren't completely abstract
@Spider-Kev The analogue pocket can play all GB, GBC, GBA. The screen is a bit larger and it has TV support along with support for Bluetooth controllers. For the other things, maybe an emulation device might work
If you get motion sick at all from video games avoid Starlink. The camera in that game is awful, I get worse motion sickness from it than Sonic Adventure.
@nemecek_f Hi, I have installed the app and it works great with my Android phone. I have two questions about it. Is it ok to just leave the images in the SwitchBuddy folder, or should I copy them elsewhere. The other question is what is the purpose of the green tick on the bottom right corner of the images after transferring? Thank you for creating this app. It makes it much easier to transfer screenshots off the Switch.
I always found it exciting to set up new electronics! Christmas is also so busy often that there won't even be a chance to really use the Switch until the next day.
I have never played any of the Animal Crossing games, but that was very entertaining to read. I wonder if Nintendo knew about actual "pigeon milk", or if it was unintentional.
Do the newer Switches (newer non-OLED and OLED) get less hot during use since they use less power? I have one of the original ones and it gets pretty warm occasionally.
@OnlyItsMeReid There is a browser extension called Dark Reader that forces websites into dark mode. It works well with Nintendo Life as well as most websites but sometimes you might have to turn it off.
Once I get something I look after it well, I have many games from when I was pretty young still complete and in excellent condition, but if I'm buying something now, I couldn't care less about condition/ completeness if it's a cart, but I'm fussy about about the packaging with discs because I trust that the disc itself will not have bad scratches if the box/ manual are looked after well.
I bought New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe (don't want to ever type that again!). I was suprised by how badly it had aged. The 3D looking 2D graphics are so obviously fake, they are almost painfull to look at. Was really looking forward to it as I had just finished SMW which I loved! It has an absolutley incredible amount of secrets!
Never really played Fortnite so I don't have a clue what the pictures are, but I think it looks quite nice. I like the colour scheme. Good to see more and more themed Switches, like the 3DS.
The screen not being the native resolution will probably drive me crazy. This is a nice little device but there are better and cheaper ways to play the included games.
I played the demo and found the story great but the gameplay a little boring. It just felt a bit repetitive. I absolutely loved BOTW so I will probably end up getting this just to find out more about the world/ characters of it.
Kirby's Adventure Wii is probably my favourite Kirby game. Has far more content than its 3DS/ Switch sequels. The plot was great too! A little more complex than you would expect from when you first start.
It might work in some places but it frustrates me as I live somewhere where this is not available, and I worry that more and more games will have "cloud" versions like this meaning that a significant proportion of people are physically unable to play them due to their location.
I haven't played it yet but this sounds a bit dissapointing. However the game does have a lot on the screen at once so I don't think that it is unreasonable.
Excellent job on this Box Art Brawl. I loved how it gradually got stranger and stranger. Was a nice surprise! I've never actually played the game but I have a rough idea of what happens.

Light arrows? How much damage do they do? It sounds very challenging.

@chipia That sounds a lot like Super Mario 64
