Re: Sonic Boom Titles Given New Names and Gameplay Details

Excep7ional

I'm a big fan of Sonic, so it was a little weird for me to see and hear some of these differences, but if it's a good game then that's all that matters. As long as they make the story interesting with some nice gameplay then I'm all for it. I just hope the 3ds version doesn't get the short end of the stick this time.

Re: Mario Kart Month: The Developers Who Tried To Beat Nintendo At Its Own Game

Excep7ional

Yeah I have to say that Crash Team racing was far superior to any other kart racing game in my opinion. The tracks were better and the gameplay was very fun. Not to mention that games adventure mode where you can drive around in the world to the next race track, finding hidden keys to unlock extra stuff in said world, etc. I wish they would make a new one, but since it has aged so well I just may download it onto the vita or my PS3. Game is a pure classic.

Re: Talking Point: For Better Or For Worse, The Wii U GamePad Is Here To Stay

Excep7ional

@Imagamerboi A couple of reasons.

To elaborate on that

  • No faith in Nintendo
  • less powerful system when compared to PS4/X1
  • Some of its exclusive games don't appeal to people
  • Severe lack of 3rd party support
  • Negative stigma regarding the Wii U in all of its entirety
  • Absence of some online functions
  • Or maybe people just don't like the Wii U period

I think I got them all, though I could be missing some, but you get the point.

Re: Monster Hunter Team Discusses Continuing Evolution and Growth of the Franchise

Excep7ional

@Dazran303 No. It really isn't anywhere near the numbers of any recent Call of Duty game when it comes to online population. Why did you even bring Ghost up anyway? Or are you talking about Ghost for the Wii-U?

@PrincessEevee9 Meh. I still think Capcom being exclusive to one game system is a bad idea. They just need to make some better decisions and keep coming up with quality games like Monster Hunter, as well as listen to some of their fans. I firmly believe they can get out of this rut that they are in if they just play it smart. I will admit though, they really do need to stop coming out with these HD collections of old games nobody ever plays after the first week. The only game they did that with that is still getting some play is 3rd strike, but that's it.

Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)

@Jazzer94 Oh okay, because I saw someone else mention the battle mode being a bit of a disappointment on a different website, but I didn't ask. I should have just read the review. Anyway thanks for responding.

@Action51 Yeah the Playstation controllers are cool, but I absolutely hate the L2/R2 buttons on the PS3 controls. Pressing down on them is so uncomfortable to me, especially while playing games when I have to use them frequently like GTA 5. I'm glad they fixed that on the current Dualshocks though. Anyway, I think the Pro controller for the Wii U is awesome. Like you said, a great alternative.

But from what I can gather, it isn't compatible with some of the games in the Wii U library?

Re: Yo-kai Watch and 3DS Continue to Lead the Way in Japan

@Hy8ogen You'll be in for a show then. Fanboys - as usual- will overreact, start throwing tantrums while speaking down on every other person who likes anything different than they do.

@Topic In the midst of all of those 3ds games, Hallow Fragment stands in the top 4. Kind of makes me even more excited for that game. Can't wait when it gets localized.

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival Is On The Cards For A Euro 3DS Release This June

@ultraraichu I agree with you. I would actually love to play a TCG video game, especially Pokemon, since I was always interested in learning but never took the time to do so. But oh man, some prices on these Real life cards are ridiculous, especially for rare/good ones (mainly Magic the Gathering.) If you want to play a good card game, I suggest you try out HearthStone, from the makers of World of Warcraft. It's a free to play game so it won't really cost you anything. I haven't played it myself yet, but people are always talking about how good and addictive it is.

Re: Square Enix Considering "Overseas" Release of Dragon Quest X

Excep7ional

It's a shame I never really got into the Dragon Quest series. I remember when I went to a game shop, and I had to choose between which game I wanted for PS2. My two choices were between DQ8 and FFX, and at that time, I didn't know anything about DQ. I originally picked up DQ8 first because I loved the art style, but chose FFX because I was more familiar with the FF series and I knew I would like that game as opposed to taking a risk with DQ. Didn't regret my choice at all, but still would have been nice to get into this franchise as well.

Re: Feature: What Can We Expect From Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire?

Excep7ional

If I had known about this when I was younger, I would have been jumping up and down while screaming; filled with excitement. But unfortunately, I no longer care for Pokemon, not even in the slightest. I'm not implying that I'm too old for it, just not interested anymore. With that being said, those of you who like Pokemon, or haven't played but want to get into it, pick this up. Hoenn was by far my favorite region, not only when it came to the games, but with the anime as well.

Beautiful region with a lot to do, and great Pokemon. The adventure was awesome overall, especially with the introduction to the Battle Frontier.
