@SamiCetinSMK Nice. Now that I know, I may try to get into the scene since I always loved Mario Kart, and found myself to be good at the game. I'm sort of competitive so this just made Mario Kart a whole lot better in my eyes. I only usually play fighters to compete but it's nice to know that I can venture into one of my favorite racing franchise of all time. Also, I would like to congratulate you on all of your accomplishments.
@OnionOverlord The Vita is selling poorly because it barely has any games that interests the masses (at least, in the West anyway) and memory card prices. The PSP Go, however, is a different story. That went all digital and crashed because of it. I think that's the system you meant when @MAB mentioned digital only.
@Topic Honestly, I think Nintendo could benefit from adding some stuff the Vita has. Like I said in my earlier comment, dual analog sticks with a better screen would be nice. Also, an account system, but that's a Nintendo problem in general.
@Caryslan I'm getting Advanced Warfare for the PS3 as well. The only Call Of Duty game I played for a great amount of time was the first Modern Warfare, although I did play all of them, just not as much. So this game will practically be fresh for me in a way. I think the only reason why people hated ghost so much was because you couldn't really run and gun like you could in the previous versions. Activision put more emphasis on teamwork with the bigger maps and all. People just weren't used to the gameplay, died a lot, and hated it because of that.
@Einherjar You make a good point, but I guess it's how you look at it. The social media stuff (personally, I hate it too. When I mention the social stuff I was talking about the streaming, sharing game footage, etc with friends.) was integrated into the systems, even if the hardware didn't really have anything to do with it, it's still an addition that wasn't with the last generation.
All that stuff you are saying about having all of that power to only increase graphics is true though so I can't argue there. Pretty much all flash and no substance kind of. Since it's still early, things might change in the future though - at least, that's what I'm hoping. Actually using that power to increase gameplay instead of graphics would be great.
It's hard to imagine what their next handheld might be. I don't see them ditching the double screens though, so maybe they'll just add dual analog sticks. If they do that along with a better screen I'll be satisfied.
@Einherjar "their exclusives are mediocre at best"
That's subjective. Even though I agree with you to an extent, I know many people who happen to love the "next" generation games.
"The gap between the current gen and last gen is almost non existant. Yes, a few more polygons here and there and a hint of pyrotechnics on top but thats it"
Meh, I don't really care for the graphics part, but I consider the leap to be bigger that what some people think. Sure it didn't make a huge leap, but a good one nonetheless. When I look at both present generation, and last generation (PS4, PS3) I see that the PS4 offers more than the PS3 did. I say that because of all of the social features Sony Integrated into their systems, and all of the things I could do on the PS4 that I couldn't do on the PS3. I don't just look at the visual upgrades, but everything overall. I can't speak about the Xbox family though.
I do understand your point though, better hardware does not equal better games. Nintendo is the perfect example of that.
I believe it's going to be an upgrade, or revision of the 3ds, since Nintendo just patented a handheld system with swappable buttons. Though It could be a new handheld system all together. Putting that information aside, I would really like a Wii U lite or something, that'll be cool I guess.
Wow. I remember watching the Mario Bros movie when I was young, and at that time I really didn't care if it was a bad movie or not. I just knew it was a movie with Mario in it and enjoyed it based off that alone. Also, Who Framed Roger Rabbit is one of my favorite movies ever, so rest in peace.
Of course I had to vote for the Megaman picture. To see every single Megaman working together is just pure epic in every sense of the word. That Charizard picture is cool too, but mainly because I find it cute.
@Caryslan I argued the same exact thing months ago. Actually, my very first comment on this site was relating to this topic, so I agree wholeheartedly with your comment. As a gamer, I don't see how people can be so closed minded when it comes to different consoles/games. Those are the people who tend to miss out on a lot of awesome stuff because of that mentality, whether they admit it or not. I'm looking forward to E3 in all of its entirety because I just know Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo will all come out swinging. Can't wait.
@Topic This is awesome. I'm a fighting game/tournament kind of guy so this is all kinds of cool to me, but I'm sure Nintendo will have some killer announcements to go with this tournament. If not, oh well, I'll still enjoy the show regardless.
@JaxonH Oh man-I remember that Yunalesca boss fight perfectly. Funny thing is, I was listening to her theme not to long ago. Such a boss track. Since I already beat FFX I didn't plan on buying it again, but I just might since there is trophy support and some other extras.
Also, thanks for the heads up. I'll get my pre-order in as soon as I can. As for Jean D' Arc, I foolishly ignored it the first time just because it was a SRPG, and during that time, I wasn't really fond of those. It wasn't till I tried Disgea 3 on the ps3 that I started playing strategy games. Fire Emblem: Awakening was the only game I played in the series but I enjoyed it, so I'll probably get sucked into Jean D' Arc with no problem.
@JaxonH "Sometimes I have a blast playing my Vita, most recently with Final Fantasy X HD, Jeanne d' Arc, Chrono Cross and Toukiden"
Nice selection. My brother played Jeanne D'Arc for the PSP and he kept on raving about how fun it was. As for Chrono Cross, I downloaded that on to my Vita but I stopped playing, I just couldn't get in to it. How far are you into the game? I might try to play it again. Overall, I'm enjoying my Vita a heck of a lot more than any other console right now, and when Tales of Hearts R get released along with Sword Art Online, I have no doubt that I'm going to be sinking many hours on to that beautiful hand held.
@Yorumi You're definitely right about one thing, and that's sales don't equal quality. With that being said, I really don't think those games you mentioned are as bad as you say, but then again this is all subjective. While Final Fantasy XIII wasn't as good as some of the older Final Fantasies (4,6,7 and up) I enjoyed it a lot more than I did both 1&2. I enjoyed Skyrim a lot more than I did the other Elder Scrolls games as well, but to be fair I didn't really give those games a chance. It's easy to see why you would think this way though, but I don't think anything has changed really. There are great and bad games today just like there were great and bad games back in the day. It's hit or miss.
@everyone Lol you think this version of Zero suit is bad? Just imagine if she had stayed with one of her earlier models that was posted above, but with updated graphics. At least she has clothes on. Personally, I like the heels. If they had been regular boots then that would have looked kind of weird. Heels are more feminine so it fits perfectly. This isn't a big deal so we shouldn't make it out to be one.
Absolutely loved the Battle Network series, 3 especially. Battle Network 3: Blue version was the very first one I played so that was the game to get me hooked on the series. Played almost all of them except for 1 unfortunately. Although I won't be playing through it again those of you who didn't get to experience this game before should give it a try. So many fond memories from this classic.
Meh, was never a fan of the Golf games. Played the demo and wasn't really interested. All it does is just make me want to play a real Mario game. With that being said, I'll pass on this but I hope those of you who are interested enjoy it.
@TheRealThanos Thank you for the recommendations. I'm going to go look up the books right now and since I'm a huge fan of everything you just mentioned, there is no doubt I will enjoy them. A space novel with a neo-classical-empire setting is something I can definitely get into. Thanks again. Also, I'll check out the game as well.
@TheRealThanos The Halo books were good, the Gears of War books were great too. I never played Warhammer but the front covers of the books always made me want to read them, lol.
@Guitardude7 Not THE best selling game, but one of.
I honestly don't care if Watch Dogs is one of the best selling games or not. Doesn't really concern me but I know I'll be picking it up. Seems like an interesting game for sure.
@wombatkidd The Ps2 also being a DVD player may have been part of the reason why it was so successful, but the wide variety of games and good exclusives also played a big role. To think otherwise would be silly.
Nice to see the Vita doing well. Its such a great piece of Hardware. This is only the beginning of 2014 and games are starting to roll out for the system like crazy, I can't wait to see what comes out later this year.
@Ralek85 Meh, I feel like it's an okay game. Nothing special though, and I didn't really care for the battle system much. On top of that, the premise for the game kind of puts me off so I think I'll pass on this. Your perspective might have been skewed since you're playing P4G, but I feel like that too.
@DinoFett I know, I just didn't want to say that and risk spoiling it for someone up here who hasn't watched it. Although the information is old, there still might be people up here who just got into it and is unaware.
@kensredemption That's an awesome idea. Kind of remind me of a dream I had a couple years back when I wanted Sony, NIntendo, and Microsoft to all work together to create some mega console. Of course now I know that would never work.
@element187 Come on man, I know you have a right to say whatever you want on these comment sections, but can we please leave Sony and Microsoft out of these conversations? There is no reason to bring them up. Out of curiosity though, why do you hate those companies so much?
@Prof_Clayton You probably already know this, but there is a documentary about Smash Bros out on Youtube. It runs for a couple of episodes, but I'm not sure exactly how many. I never really cared about Smash until I watched it.
This is a cool idea. I have some sick designs for some weapons but I probably won't enter seeing as how I don't play Monster Hunter. Can't wait to see what the winning designs look like though.

Hm, I never knew Mario Kart had a competitive scene like this. That's awesome. I knew about the time trials, but I thought that was it.

@Tresov I ran through Halo 1 on Legendary pretty easily, except the last part with the Flood and the Covenant war...
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Twenty Three
@shonenjump86 Another fighting game fan. Nice.
As for me
PS3 - Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Rising.

@B3ND3R Oh no doubt lol. I'm legitimately excited for this game.

@B3ND3R What I mean is the first person style. Yeah it's the same battle system, but I'm used to seeing all over the battlefield as opposed to being limited to a front view of the enemy. I'm not making a big deal out it or anything, just saying. I haven't played Persona 1 or 2 yet, so Persona being in first person is new and different to me.
