Re: Ninterview: Sami Cetin On His Journey To Super Mario Kart Success

Excep7ional

@SamiCetinSMK Nice. Now that I know, I may try to get into the scene since I always loved Mario Kart, and found myself to be good at the game. I'm sort of competitive so this just made Mario Kart a whole lot better in my eyes. I only usually play fighters to compete but it's nice to know that I can venture into one of my favorite racing franchise of all time. Also, I would like to congratulate you on all of your accomplishments.

Re: Talking Point: What We Want To See From Nintendo's Next Handheld

Excep7ional

@OnionOverlord The Vita is selling poorly because it barely has any games that interests the masses (at least, in the West anyway) and memory card prices. The PSP Go, however, is a different story. That went all digital and crashed because of it. I think that's the system you meant when @MAB mentioned digital only.

@Topic Honestly, I think Nintendo could benefit from adding some stuff the Vita has. Like I said in my earlier comment, dual analog sticks with a better screen would be nice. Also, an account system, but that's a Nintendo problem in general.

Re: Activision Enlists Kevin Spacey To Sell Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare's New Brand Of Combat

Excep7ional

@Caryslan I'm getting Advanced Warfare for the PS3 as well. The only Call Of Duty game I played for a great amount of time was the first Modern Warfare, although I did play all of them, just not as much. So this game will practically be fresh for me in a way. I think the only reason why people hated ghost so much was because you couldn't really run and gun like you could in the previous versions. Activision put more emphasis on teamwork with the bigger maps and all. People just weren't used to the gameplay, died a lot, and hated it because of that.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Will Reveal New Hardware At This Year's E3

Excep7ional

@Einherjar You make a good point, but I guess it's how you look at it. The social media stuff (personally, I hate it too. When I mention the social stuff I was talking about the streaming, sharing game footage, etc with friends.) was integrated into the systems, even if the hardware didn't really have anything to do with it, it's still an addition that wasn't with the last generation.

All that stuff you are saying about having all of that power to only increase graphics is true though so I can't argue there. Pretty much all flash and no substance kind of. Since it's still early, things might change in the future though - at least, that's what I'm hoping. Actually using that power to increase gameplay instead of graphics would be great.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Will Reveal New Hardware At This Year's E3

Excep7ional

@Einherjar "their exclusives are mediocre at best"

That's subjective. Even though I agree with you to an extent, I know many people who happen to love the "next" generation games.

"The gap between the current gen and last gen is almost non existant. Yes, a few more polygons here and there and a hint of pyrotechnics on top but thats it"

Meh, I don't really care for the graphics part, but I consider the leap to be bigger that what some people think. Sure it didn't make a huge leap, but a good one nonetheless. When I look at both present generation, and last generation (PS4, PS3) I see that the PS4 offers more than the PS3 did. I say that because of all of the social features Sony Integrated into their systems, and all of the things I could do on the PS4 that I couldn't do on the PS3. I don't just look at the visual upgrades, but everything overall. I can't speak about the Xbox family though.

I do understand your point though, better hardware does not equal better games. Nintendo is the perfect example of that.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Will Reveal New Hardware At This Year's E3

Excep7ional

I believe it's going to be an upgrade, or revision of the 3ds, since Nintendo just patented a handheld system with swappable buttons. Though It could be a new handheld system all together. Putting that information aside, I would really like a Wii U lite or something, that'll be cool I guess.

Re: Nintendo Lifts The Lid On Its Plans For E3 2014

Excep7ional

@Caryslan I argued the same exact thing months ago. Actually, my very first comment on this site was relating to this topic, so I agree wholeheartedly with your comment. As a gamer, I don't see how people can be so closed minded when it comes to different consoles/games. Those are the people who tend to miss out on a lot of awesome stuff because of that mentality, whether they admit it or not. I'm looking forward to E3 in all of its entirety because I just know Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo will all come out swinging. Can't wait.

@Topic This is awesome. I'm a fighting game/tournament kind of guy so this is all kinds of cool to me, but I'm sure Nintendo will have some killer announcements to go with this tournament. If not, oh well, I'll still enjoy the show regardless.

Re: Satoru Iwata Speaks Of The Need To "Redefine" Nintendo's Position In The Entertainment Industry

Excep7ional

@JaxonH Oh man-I remember that Yunalesca boss fight perfectly. Funny thing is, I was listening to her theme not to long ago. Such a boss track. Since I already beat FFX I didn't plan on buying it again, but I just might since there is trophy support and some other extras.

Also, thanks for the heads up. I'll get my pre-order in as soon as I can. As for Jean D' Arc, I foolishly ignored it the first time just because it was a SRPG, and during that time, I wasn't really fond of those. It wasn't till I tried Disgea 3 on the ps3 that I started playing strategy games. Fire Emblem: Awakening was the only game I played in the series but I enjoyed it, so I'll probably get sucked into Jean D' Arc with no problem.

@JaxonH "Sometimes I have a blast playing my Vita, most recently with Final Fantasy X HD, Jeanne d' Arc, Chrono Cross and Toukiden"

Nice selection. My brother played Jeanne D'Arc for the PSP and he kept on raving about how fun it was. As for Chrono Cross, I downloaded that on to my Vita but I stopped playing, I just couldn't get in to it. How far are you into the game? I might try to play it again. Overall, I'm enjoying my Vita a heck of a lot more than any other console right now, and when Tales of Hearts R get released along with Sword Art Online, I have no doubt that I'm going to be sinking many hours on to that beautiful hand held.

@Yorumi You're definitely right about one thing, and that's sales don't equal quality. With that being said, I really don't think those games you mentioned are as bad as you say, but then again this is all subjective. While Final Fantasy XIII wasn't as good as some of the older Final Fantasies (4,6,7 and up) I enjoyed it a lot more than I did both 1&2. I enjoyed Skyrim a lot more than I did the other Elder Scrolls games as well, but to be fair I didn't really give those games a chance. It's easy to see why you would think this way though, but I don't think anything has changed really. There are great and bad games today just like there were great and bad games back in the day. It's hit or miss.

Re: Fresh Super Smash Bros. Screens Show Zero Suit Samus in Action

Excep7ional

@OnionOverlord Good comment.

@everyone Lol you think this version of Zero suit is bad? Just imagine if she had stayed with one of her earlier models that was posted above, but with updated graphics. At least she has clothes on. Personally, I like the heels. If they had been regular boots then that would have looked kind of weird. Heels are more feminine so it fits perfectly. This isn't a big deal so we shouldn't make it out to be one.

Re: Mega Man Battle Network 3 Headed to the Wii U Virtual Console

Excep7ional

Absolutely loved the Battle Network series, 3 especially. Battle Network 3: Blue version was the very first one I played so that was the game to get me hooked on the series. Played almost all of them except for 1 unfortunately. Although I won't be playing through it again those of you who didn't get to experience this game before should give it a try. So many fond memories from this classic.

Re: Review: Mario Golf: World Tour (3DS)

Excep7ional

Meh, was never a fan of the Golf games. Played the demo and wasn't really interested. All it does is just make me want to play a real Mario game. With that being said, I'll pass on this but I hope those of you who are interested enjoy it.

Re: Ubisoft Announces a Watch_Dogs eBook, //n/Dark Clouds

Excep7ional

@TheRealThanos Thank you for the recommendations. I'm going to go look up the books right now and since I'm a huge fan of everything you just mentioned, there is no doubt I will enjoy them. A space novel with a neo-classical-empire setting is something I can definitely get into. Thanks again. Also, I'll check out the game as well.

Re: Video: Atlus Serves Up an Early Look at Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth's Battle System

Excep7ional

@Ralek85 Haha I figured. I maybe a star wars Newb, but I know it when I see it.

And that makes perfect sense. When I played Persona 4 Golden for the first time, I played it on the hardest difficulty. So I had to grind a lot before every boss so I wouldn't get completely destroyed. Usually, I hate grinding but the Music, battle system/view made it fun. I didn't have a problem doing hundreds of fights before a boss battle. I'm no graphic junky either but I love seeing the visuals of those games in all of its entirety. Persona 3 and 4 had a charm to them. Four especially. As for SMTIV and EO, I'll get to them eventually. Lol
