@ARHollow Correct me if I'm wrong but maybe the term you were trying to use was "elitist" which I could understand from your perspective lol. I personally agree with Hex though.
@ARhollow It's just my personal opinion but most people that have REASONABLY voiced that some people on Nintendo's side that fell for the rumors are a bit entitled are people I agree with. I personally want Switch to get P5 and think Atlus derped a bit naming the project "P5S" after a Joker Smash update but I have to admit that is only my fault. I think Arehexus is reasonably saying "shouldn't have fell for the rumors." Especially since Atlus mixes up messaging sometimes. If he was truly an Atlus fanboy, wouldn't he want ALL Atlus games to be on all platforms to see their greatness? That seems more fanboyish to me, and probably the good kind tbh.
@Ralizah YOUR statement "Atlus, for whatever reason, likes to make certain franchises exclusive to certain ecosystems" does not stand unless you edited that comment :/. Yes, otherwise I agree with you. Sorry. This has no point lol. Too much time on debate team.
@Arehexes Lol, considering you've been reasonable and good about voicing your point about Persona rumors not being justified...YOURE OBVIOUSLY A FANBOY GET OUT
@Ralizah That's pretty weak selective reasoning based on timeline considering only 1 main entry ago it was on PS2, but alright. I'll give you that. @ARHollow That sounds like you did your research on Fanboyism. Glad to know you're the judge and jury on that.
@AlternateButtons I have to agree with you on many points you've made but to be fair the S might have just been related to the project name before the official name came out. I think our wishful thinking pushed it. I do agree the S and possiblyJoker may have been misleading. Why not W for Warriors or K or Koei or something, lol.
@Ralizah You specifically said: "Atlus, for whatever reason, likes to make certain franchises exclusive to certain ecosystems." Again, SMT3 (Which, surprisingly, is only 1 mainline entry before the 3DS's SMT4) plus many non-Persona ports. No further argument. @Arehexes I definitely think we're on the same page, lol. It just seems weird having to scream "NOCTURNE + PORTS AS BAD AS FF7" every time somebody pulls the whole exclusivity route with SMT. Makes me wonder if I'm the only one that remembers or if I'm insane.
@BlueBlur101 I would definitely agree except for some, except a lot of the earlier ones came to iOS/Android in some form. Plus, Nocturne (arguably the greatest one) came to PS2.
@BanjoPickles Let people feel what they wanna feel. Whatever floats their boats. I think it's just a reflection of hope and hype that births some negativity.
Really should stop with the "exclusive" aspect of Atlus. Here's a list of consoles supported for SMT:
Platform(s)
Android, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Gear, iOS, Microsoft Windows, MSX, NES, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PC Engine, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, SNES, Virtual Boy, Wii, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Xbox 360
Granted some never made it out of Japan, but still.
@Zerocritic The first 6 Final Fantasies were Nintendo console exclusives. Did you not expect that to change, either? Surprise.
Point being, just because something was a certain way for a time doesn't make for a good argument. It would make a very awkward conversation about presidents given recent elections don't you think?
@Arehexes You make a great point. There's a small (willfully ignorant) part of me that wants to point to Joker being in Smash, but then we'd also have to talk about Cloud I guess lol. Still, as a few people pointed out, Atlus did make a few strange choices with naming it P5S and saving it for last. I imagine it being similar to Valve randomly posting "HL3" and then announcing Half-Life: The 3rd Remaster of Half-Life 1.
@ReaderRagfish I'm gonna have to agree. I mean, why call it P5S this whole time? Why save it until the end? Why not just tell people, "No it's not happening?"
I know how I sound...I'll grow back up in a few minutes, lol.
Either way, E3 is around the corner. I still have some hope there. Could be Atlus wants to bring some people down on purpose and appear to have no more announcements only for Nintendo to announce P5R or port to Switch and really kick up the interest with a "comeback" announcement in E3. With Switch almost outselling PS4 lifetime sales in Japan I think it would be a missed opportunity to not bring it to Switch.
@JaxonH As a project manager I don't think I've seen a job description that didn't use those words. ...But, as a project manager wanting to learn japanese...wanna hire me, Nintendo?!
They should bring over what made the 3DS great. Rune Factory-type game, Etrian Odyssey, Fantasy Life (or that Towns game coming up), Ff Explorers, Bravely Default series. Many others I can't even think of.
No offense, but this particular review doesn't seem to give much reason WHY it's 4/10 outside of "Meh, boobs." Were graphics horrible? Gameplay too short or interactions laughable? UI sucky?
It's a great game. Stopped playing due to crashes galore and load screens, waiting for the fix. The enemies do have some unfair map-wide effects and HP that can make a tank jealous. I suggest extra valor (or whatever) points upon enemy death.
@rjejr I understand what you mean now. I think that the general public would only want a sexual massage game being the pervs that we are. Being a legitimate massage therapist in a game might prove very boring lol.
I'm in the same situation with my girlfriend over this game - One TV, one Switch. It's very fun to see her get far in the story while I find 50 Korok seeds and shrines then watch her glare at me.
Our experiences with games melds well in this particular venture. My ability to almost destroy all puzzles I come across and find very small things helps the OCD collector in her, while her simpler outlook helps me not get stuck on something that's much easier than I think it is.
@Nintendoforlife At the cost of sounding fickle, I would say I would re-buy all physical copies of games I have as digital and the Switch would be my all-time favorite console, lol. If Pro Controller support existed for those same 3DS games, I'd be set for life.
I agree that the New 3DS has a special place in my heart. I'd be lying if I said playing with the Switch kicked up while using the Pro controller wasn't amazing, though.
@Alucard83 Honestly, Fire Emblem can seem pretty barebones in comparison to Disgaea. Fire Emblem, you can choose some classes, upgrade them, get some children...I understate all you can do, HOWEVER... In Disgaea, you can level up to LVL 9,999, reincarnate your character with better stats, change their class, teach them skills, permanently increase their stats OUTSIDE of what they get in levels, fuse monsters in battle or make a monster a weapon....there's tons to do. That doesn't even touch what you can do to level up your weapons/armor/accessories/items.
If I had to compare the strategy tactics, though, I'd say the RPG aspect plays a much bigger role in Disgaea than it does for Fire Emblem. You can level a whole field in a couple of turns with the skills and magics you learn in Disgaea. They're both checkerboard with height included, and a lot of passive skills playing a big role if that's what you're asking.
I am ecstatic that this game is coming to Switch! I've always thought "Man, if only the 3DS had Disgaea 5 and YuGiOh: Duel Legacy, I wouldn't need anything else..."
If this game has some magical way to play 3DS games, this would make my year - nay, my life!
@ThomasBW84, this might be too much to ask but is there any way someone could compare previous launch games from Ninty systems to Switch's launch setup?
@PlywoodStick Good point. I heard (not able to find source) that Nintendo has enough to fail a few generations before they truly have to worry. It's possible they can afford to test waters with newer tablet-based consoles with little marketing.
@PlywoodStick Nice comment. You make a great point, not only can Nintendo create their own playing field (much like creating Nintendo Directs and removing most of their announcements from E3) but they also have bragging rights. It sounds good to stockholders that you sold 100% of stock and social network sites still show a certain percentage of invested interest from consumers.

@Arehexes xD I was poking fun at ARHollow immediately calling you fanboy despite how reasonable you were about your points.
Re: Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers Officially Confirmed For Switch
@Arehexes I hope you realize I used sarcasm lol. You're obviously not a fanboy and I don't really believe in the term.

@Arehexes No I agree. Just destroying the whole "Nintendo = SMT" argument.
Re: Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers Officially Confirmed For Switch
@BanjoPickles I definitely get it. Just making my point that Snake does have a pretty good point for being in Smash, or so I feel.

@Arehexes Very true. I didn't follow WiiU as much so didn't follow it as closely but that video definitely paints a certain picture for me.

@Ralizah Shin Megami called. Sorta destroys that point. Also not sure if "entitled" is as true as "hopeful".
