Re: Ubisoft Believes in Wii U for Core and Casual Customers

Dyl_73

It may be able to cater for core gamers as well as the casual market. However, it will not be an immediate change. The core gamers are not all suddenly going to rush out and buy a Wii. Even if developers create the hardcore games for the Wii U that have been lacking on the Wii, it will still probably be at least a couple of years before a lot of core gamers take it seriously.

Re: Super Mario 3D Land Made for Snacking, Not Gorging

Dyl_73

That sounds OK to me. The "majority" of handheld users want games that can be played in short bursts. You can't really play a game like SM:Galaxy like that. The 3DS Mario games are to be sold across the whole spectrum of 3DS users types, so a big exploration game is not going to be as well accepted in social circles outside of the more serious gamers circles.
Hopefully that makes sense.

Re: Review: Pyramids (3DSWare)

Dyl_73

It's good so far. I'm not that far into it but I can can tell it's going to take a looooooong time to finish.
7 out of 10 seems a fair score to me.

Re: We've Plucked the First Footage of New 3DS Harvest Moon

Dyl_73

Looks OK. I've loved the HM games but I think they need to add something very fresh to make me want to buy anymore. I seem to be saying that about quite a few games lately. Either I'm just not as interested in games anymore, or games companies are getting lazier.

Oh, and the panda looks rubbish, although I'm sure they'll change that.

Re: Rumour: 3DS System Update to Reach Europe on 4th November

Dyl_73

Streetpass has been a load of rubbish as far as I'm concerned. Don't get me wrong, I love my 3DS and have spent far too many hours playing great games on it. However, since March when I got my 3DS I have not had one streetpass hit. (I live in a large village.)
I would love to be able to do another jigsaw puzzle picture bt I can't. I finished the quest game only by hiring adventurers with coins. I fear that any new games will suffer in the same way.

Re: Review: Professor Layton and the Last Specter (DS)

@WiiLovePeace
What about the EU version that doesn't have London Life?
I have enjoyed the previous games but less and less as the series has gone along. I would have bought this with London Life included, but won't bother now until it's in a bargain bin somewhere.
£75 so far for the other three games.... I can't bring myself to pay another £25 for a few puzzles with a story attached.

Re: Resi Revelations Infects North America on 7th February

Dyl_73

Looking forward to it a lot !!!

@2 and 3
I would hardly call it spoiling us. The U.S. only has to wait about 10 days extra. Surely people can wait that long without getting their knickers in a twist thinking that someone else is getting a better deal than they are.

Re: Tetris Axis Lines Up 8 Player Online Modes

Dyl_73

!Does the promise of duking it out with another two players put this one nearer the top of your buy list?"

As an occasional player I don't stand a chance against most others.
A video of the AR mode is needed. I can't imagine trying to play that with the tower wobbling about as you move around.

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th September 2011 (Europe)

Dyl_73

Rubbish. Starting to get a little disheartened by the amount of poor / average games for download. There doesn't seem to be much you could call great recently.
The free games are OK and will keep me going a little bit. But nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Re: Tetris: Axis Swings By 3DS on 2nd October

Dyl_73

Could be good. Could be just more of the same. I'm not bothered for the AR game. If it's anything like the built in AR games then I get annoyed at the wobbliness of them after a while. Face raiders works but games where you're looking at a something that is supposed to be staying still and is in fact wobbling just irritate me.

Re: Inflatable Wii Karts Finally Blow Up In Europe

"... providing a comfortable seat for hours of racing fun."

I don't think so. It may be comfy for an average eight year old but can you imagine sitting on one of those when you're adult size? Your knees would be in the way and the steering wheel will be a couple of inches from your body.
It's just....... tat.

Re: Build-a-lot

Dyl_73

Played this on the iTouch. And Build-a-lot 2. And Hotel Mogul (build-a-lot 3 realy).
They pretty cool and do have a certain amount of replay value as you try to improve scores. And it's very satisfying seeing your income get higher and higher.

Re: Dr. Lautrec Solves the Riddle of the New Trailer

Dyl_73

To all those saying it is a Layton wannabe.
So What? Who cares?
If it's a good game does it matter? Does that mean that any platform game is trying to cash in on Mario, or any brawler is trying to cash in on Street Fighter? No it doesn't. And if it's going to make money you can hardly blame the games companies for doing it. That's what they're there to do.

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th August 2011 (Europe)

Dyl_73

Nothing of any interest there.

Fingers crossed that Flipnote Memo comes out soon. Next week would be good as I've seen Aug 25th mentioned on a few sites.

It won't matter what else comes out then because I'll be too busy with flipnote and my free downloads from the ambassador scheme.

Re: Tekken 3D Prime Edition Shots and Trailer Pack a Punch

Dyl_73

@ retro_player_22
Me too. Tekken Advance was brilliant. How they managed to fit that game on the tiny advance I'll never understand. If they do as good a job on this as they did with that then it'll be the best brawler on the DS. I've tried SSF:IV and DoA and neither held my attention for very long. Tekken has always been my personal favourite.
