@Shugo A bit late but 'game leaks'. Those same leaks revealed a lot of true information. Literally the exact same sources described a few concepts which never showed up in the actuaactual game. Must have been some truth to them.
@JaxonH You're missing the fact Mario Kart is constant 60fps this time around, framerate was cut in half when more than two players were involved in the Wii U version.
@Mogster We've been shown glimpses of great 3rd party titles and it has been confirmed that the Switch is designed with PS4/Xbox One ports in mind. I mean, you can't exactly blame them for your low expectations when they have done nothing to contribute to them this time around.
@Shugo 20 new Pokemon? When did she say that? And honestly, I feel like the new monsters in Sun/Moon were few and far between. There were also several leaks from sources accurate in other areas describing new Pokemon/Alola forms which never came to fruition. This may be the game they are introduced, as they would also need enough fresh content to attract the average Sun/Moon user to this new system. Even as a long-term Pokemon fan, this all sounds pretty fiesable whether Laura said it or not. Don't forget how much Game Freak changed up the formula in the latest entries.
@diwdiws incorrect, we already know the third-party support will significantly stronger than on the Wii U. We know Nvidia has designed the system with PS4/Xbox One support in mind. We already have two current gen ports more or less confirmed; Skyrim Remastered and NBA 2K17. A Dark Souls trilogy is also heavily rumoured.
@Razjin Actually, they also said it can be used to "provide power to the system". Granted, that's an ambiguous statement, but I do think it may be hinting towards the dock providing a supplemental boost to the overall processing power, even if it's only very slight.
Nintendo re-affirmed the fact they have a strong relationship with the company, and promoted their conference for having "exciting announcements". I think this is a hint towards more of those games featured being released on NX.
I have a feeling NX will be revealed in July. This will be just after the E3 hype settles, and 8 months is often the time given between successful announcements and releases (Pokemon, PS4 ect.). Not only that, but the system could playable at the ever popularising Gamescom (western audience) and TGS (eastern audience).
@ALinkttPresent Probably won't be any spoilers. It may be a 90 minute demo of the rumours are anything to go by, but the game is said to be fully open world and Nintendo even said they wanted to show off a new mechanic. Story-wise, I think you can trust Nintendo not to spoil anything, just avoid leaks/rumours.
@Dakt I actually think it could primarily home console if it fully utilised portable wi-fi. I've used it in the past and it can connect anywhere you go. Leave the console on sleep on the handhold can always be connected.
@Dakt Likelihood is that it combines both in some way. It's releasing with the next Zelda, and Wii I software is slowing down. Then again so is 3DS to some extent, which is why I believe NX will incorporate both formats amoung many other reasons.
This is exciting, despite all the strange choices, if Nintendo goes completely insane I'm ready to go there with them lol. Honestly though, no one can predict their next move, especially nowadays. I'm no huge Zelda fan, but this approach could definitely draw in people like myself, seeing as this could replace OoT as the highest rated game of all time, considering the time, effort and emphasis they are putting on it.
