Re: Review: World of Goo (WiiWare)

Clayfrd

@AlexSays - Weird. Ever since I got the game I was getting no clouds (except on the demo), but the very next time I visited the corporation after asking that question I got a barrage of clouds instantly. Huh.

Oh, and I beat the game, but I skipped the whole last chapter except the finale, haha.

Re: Dynamite Headdy

Clayfrd

I got this game on a whim, and I must say (even though I lost shortly into the game) I like what I've seen so far. It reminds me a little bit of Ristar, which is definitely a good thing. Fun, fun stuff.

Re: Fake Man Content Pack Coming To WiiWare Next Week?

Clayfrd

@Mr. Cheez- Shake It! is rather good. I've beaten it, but I keep finding myself playing it again to do more challenges/missions. The art is great.

@megacody- A level editor.. great idea! They could be shared online. I think if that were the case, though, the creator would have to beat the level before uploading it to prove its possibility. That would be ideal, anyway.

Edit:
Why don't they release DLC (free, ideally) that allows Proto Man to be compatible (with separate leaderboards) with Endless Attack and Time Attack? I'd pay up to 200 points for that. I'd do it reluctantly, but I would do it.

Re: World of Goo is Officially the Best Wii Game Ever

Clayfrd

@AlexSays- If WoG were $50 and had 3 times more content, it still wouldn't match SMG in my book. Is fanboyism tainting my judgement? Maybe a little, but I still think Galaxy is better for your money (especially for someone like me who can get every star with M&L and 9999 star bits with Luigi and STILL find the game entertaining).
I will say that this is the first WiiWare game (excepting MM9) that I've been able to play continuously for more than an hour. I love the game, but it's not the best ever. Also, Ocarina is 10 bucks these days, and it may not trump WoG in charm, but it does in content. Okay, that's a bad argument since Ocarina was expensive back in the N64 age, but still... I don't know. I usually like to beat a game before I give it the final word, so I'll get back to you.

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)

Clayfrd

@Mr. Cheez- Hmm, that can't be true, I just went 6-0 online as Captain Falcon the other night; let me run over to Smash Wiki to read the tier list....
WHAT!? Last place! That's bull$4!7! What's that? His priority sucks?! You suck, Smash Wiki! I hate you!
Sorry. That just makes me sad to see Captain Falcon nerfed 31 places... I demand downloadable patches for this ridiculous oversight!

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)

Clayfrd

Yeah, the C. Falcon dragoon avatar is why I thought you were the one that said that. Sorry I couldn't help out with your Direct3D problem. You could try contacting 2D Boy; other than that, I'm out of ideas

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)

Clayfrd

@Mr. Cheez- Just let me know if you ever need that picture.
Oh, and by the way you worded it, you either need the latest version of DirectX or you need a different graphics card. That's my guess. Let's hope you just need to get the most recent DirectX. You can download the most recent here.

Edit: Oh, and earlier you noted that no one cared about Captain Falcon, well notice my new avatar (Why do I remember everything you say?). I actually own every (US release) F-Zero game. I'd have to say my favorite is a toss up between F-Zero GP Legend for GBA (the story's garbage based on the anime, but the racing is great) and F-Zero GX for GCN. F-Zero 1 and X are also up there. I really didn't care too much for Maximum Velocity...

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)

Clayfrd

@Mr. Cheez- I can't help you. I think that's something internally that would be difficult to fix quickly. WoG works for me, and I can readily recommend it. If you still want that picture of Mario with Bowser's Sourpuss bread from Hotel Mario, I think I can get that for you. (Sorry, that was something you mentioned a while ago, and I just felt like responding to it).

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)

Clayfrd

@Jazzem - Where did you download the PC demo? I'd like to do that, but I'm far too lazy, umm, I mean busy to do so.

@Topic
No surprises here. As always, some of the worst WiiWare titles are on there, but the best ones still hold the top.

I changed my avatar. I'm not sure why. I'll probably change it back to Superstar Saga Weegee eventually, or maybe I'll go way back to VCR days and make it the SMW Mario.

Re: Review: Art Style: Cubello (WiiWare)

Clayfrd

This looks pretty good. Whenever I can get some points (who knows when that will be), I'm getting this and WoG. I was planning on getting all of the rest of the MM9 DLC, but I'll just get the extra level so I can afford this.

Re: Review: World of Goo (WiiWare)

Clayfrd

I'll have to download this as soon as I can! Crap. I only have 400 points, which means I'll have to buy a whole 2000 more. At least I'll have enough to get Cubello then...

@BeastMan93 - Have fun with No More Heroes. I got it back in January, and it's a great game. It's weird, but it's one of the few hack and slashes I actually enjoy.

Re: Review: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare)

Clayfrd

w00t! I beat it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Finally. I used all of my E/M-Tanks plus 1 that I found en route to Wily. I don't care, though! I beat him. Now I have to do it with Proto Man... oh no... (Captain Falcon: YES!)

Re: Review: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare)

Clayfrd

@Ren - Agreed

@All
AAGGH! I've attempted to beat Wily about 10 times now to no avail! I finally quit and went back to the store to get 9 E-Tanks and 1 M-Tank and one of those 1/2 damage things. I'll destroy him. HAHAHA! Tomorrow. I'm far to frustrated tonight. I have a short break from escuela, so I can work all Friday to Whomp Wily!

EDIT

I have a strange glitch to report. After I purchased Proto Man (any DLC would probably work), and I went back to look at the description, once I exited the description the game immediately froze. Could anyone else try this to see if it happens to them?

Re: Review: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare)

Clayfrd

@ Mr. Cheez (110) - Yes, but the 8-bit style was the point. The soundtrack is incredibly catchy too. I think the title screen music is great, and so is Tornado Man's stage's music. The fact that Capcom created such a genuine 8-bit experience means they reached their goal with epic success. Plus, there's Proto Man.

Re: Boingz

Clayfrd

@WiiloveitOnline
Ha, Horsez. The fact that that has sold any copies shames the DS. Surely QA won't allow this game to follow any paradigm set by Catz, Dogz, Horsez, or any other "z" game of our time.

Re: Why You Should Be Excited About Cave Story

Clayfrd

Pixel's dedication is enough for me to buy the game! With the Java/VB code I know, I've spent about 2 weeks on a game using ripped off sprites and given up! It's not that I can't do it, it's that I don't have that kind of dedication. Pixel truly impresses me.

Re: New WiiWare Games: Cave Story And Boingz

Clayfrd

@Mr. Cheez - In a sponanious act of kindness, I almost asked you for your Wii code so I could gift you a game, but my niceness just died equally as spontaneously. The status on that has dropped to maybe...

@Topic
Everyone seems to love Cave Story; I'll have to check it out.

Re: Review: Bomberman Blast (WiiWare)

Clayfrd

@Anyone Who Cares
Does anyone else find the computers to be a bit cruel? I kick CPU ass on '93, but the opposite is true on this one. I have played probably 50+ matches on classic/normal mode with easy computers, and I have YET to win. Any suggestions? No pointing and laughing! You may laugh, but don't point at the same time!

Re: Review: Art Style: Orbient (WiiWare)

Clayfrd

Wow. This game is pretty good. I just bought it a based solely on this review, and I must say, I'm impressed. I've beaten the first couple of galaxies, and I don't intend to put the game on the SD card until I beat them all.

Re: Virtual Console games to be directly downloadable to SD cards

Clayfrd

I really hope the new Pikmin announced earlier this year is not the remake they just announced. I hope there's a Pikmin 3. When Miyamoto announced the new Pikmin a few months ago, though, I had a lingering thought that it might be a remake with motion controls. I really hope this is not the case. It would be another let down.

Re: Virtual Console games to be directly downloadable to SD cards

Clayfrd

According to GameSpot:
"[9:23] "Iwata is addressing the problem of Wii storage," he says. "Soon you will be able to download and store virtual console and WiiWare titles directly on your SD card, and play them off your SD card. This will make the Wii download experience much easier.""

Re: Mega Man 9 Challenge List

Clayfrd

@PuppetMasterKuruku - I just got Hard Rock (don't get damaged) and I found that hints enclosed*Tornado Man's stage was easy to avoid damage on (especially the second time), and I'm going out on a limb and saying Splash Woman's is easiest to avoid shooting anything on, but I haven't gotten that achievement yet. *end hints I'm still loving the game!

Re: Review: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare)

Clayfrd

This game is maddening(ly fun). I love it.

@Dazza - Am I the exception to the rule? I'm a relatively young gamer (15), but I love maddening games! My colleagues, however, in general don't care for the classics to the extent that I do, although few do things to the extent that I do (I have an obsessive personality). Anyway, yay Mega Man 9.

Re: USA VC Releases: Super Dodge Ball and Vectorman

Clayfrd

@ Mr. Cheez-
I've used regular credit cards before, but I don't understand how a prepaid credit card would be linked to any personal info. How would they know a prepaid card I got at Wal-Mart (or wherever) belongs to me, who lives in Wherever, USA? What info would you put for a prepaid card?

Re: Mega Man 9 Challenge List

Clayfrd

This game is great. I only have Eco Fighter so far because I've only played it a bit. I'll make it a goal to get 50% of these, and then see where I can go from there... I'll have to determine the Robot Masters' weaknesses so I can do the "down in 10 seconds" thing. Hmm. I could probably fight Galaxy Man for 10 minutes. Crap... I just beat him.

Re: USA VC Releases: Super Dodge Ball and Vectorman

Clayfrd

@Mr. Cheez - Wait... you can use pre-paid credit cards? What do you put in for the address information?

@Topic
This is the best release day of '08. Mega Man 9, Kirby Super Star Ultra, and Wario Land: Shake it! Have all come out today in the US. w00t! 1337 g4m35 FTW! But, oh noes, I just got Mario Kart Wii (which is one of the most enjoyable games I've played in a long time), and I don't want to abandon it! How will I fit all these games into my schedule?
