IMHO it's quite natural that the Wii U is not selling in Europe.
No FIFA 14 No PES
I strongly believe that the lack of both these top-selling football games is a death sentence for a console, as the Sega Dreamcast has teached us in the past.
ROTFL! At 2:40 the level with mario transforming into a human cannon looks a lot like R-Type You can even keep the fire button pressed to charge your shot as in the Irem shoot-em-up
I like the cover image, with that blue giant-sized tank and the captain in front of it...
it almost seems that Wayforward artists have taken inspiration from Metal Slug and its middle east level
Hey, I can even testify that this software even works perfectly with the Sony Singstar microphones!
Unfortunately its database is made of only english songs, so none of my friends will ever want to sing more than one or two songs with it at the moment.
> Sensible Software is a company which is perhaps more famous in the UK than the rest of the world.
Are you kidding me? Here in Italy it's usually considered a legendary software house that redefined the gaming scene during the eighties (with Microprose Soccer) and the nineties (with Sensible Soccer). Every kid back then used to have at least one of these two games, or Cannon Fodder on his C64 or Amiga computer.
There was a time when boys like me used to think that the coolest thing it might ever happen in their lives was to take a flight to England and gain a contract as a game designer with DMA Design, Team 17, System-3, Ultimate or Sensible Software. Or in the worst case, find a job at Ocean, U.S. Gold or Elite
With the exception of DMA Design (now Rockstar games) and Ultimate (now Rare) those days are gone
Yeah, I'm quite surprised indeed.
Judging from the title of the news article I though that his favourite Zelda was that thing made for the CD-i ^_________^
IMHO this is the weakest week of the year so far. I bet that Nintendo is probably thinking that everyone is on vacation and nobody will care about the eshop on August.
@hydeks I grew up playing "Gryzor" in the arcade rooms and in the cafes for many years in the 80s, so by my point of view "Contra" is the name that doesn't sound quite right
Speaking about Konami games, don't forget that for us europeans the shoot-em-up smash hit "Gradius" was called "Nemesis". Other Konami games with changed names were:
Life force (here it's named "Salamander")
Gradius II (here it's named "Vulcan Venture")
Oddly enough, back in the 80s I had the NES version of Salamander and it was called... Life Force!
If they're smart they should put one relay station in every videogame shop across Europe IMHO, so the people could bring their 3DS with them, so while the owners could have a look at the newest titles their console could download and share new data.
AFAIK the only places in Italy that have these relay stations are the McDonald's restaurants.
I still hope that a true sequel to Mario Galaxy will follow in late 2014, maybe they have assembled this game in a hurry to have a Mario game put on sale for christmas and to not hurt the sales of the Wii U... or at least this is what I wish with all my hearth...
Probably I was expecting too much from this title, but I'm a little bit disappointed by both Mario 3D and Mario Kart. It seems to me that Nintendo is reproposing the same lineup of the 3DS but in high definition... I'm not saying that Mario Land 3D or Mario Kart 7 are bad games of course, it's just that I have already played both of them and I was expecting something new...
BTW, I'm wondering if the multiplayer part of this game could be played ONLINE and not just offline with four controllers as usual.
I'm going to get it without paying a dime. Well, actually I live in Europe and since I already bought Luigi Mansion 2, Fire Emblem and DK Country returns, Nintendo will give me a free copy of the game. Lucky me
Unfortunately it seems that Solomon's key won't appear on the 3DS Virtual Console. It's a pity, because it's still one of my all-time favourite puzzle games and I would have bought it gladly (even if I had to admit that Solomon's club for the Gameboy is a superior version).
Yesterday I purchased and played Fire Emblem for the first time. I was playing at around 23:00 / 11pm and I choose to visit a hall. Suddently all the characters of the game, one by one, suggest me that it was late and perhaps I should go to sleep instead of playing !!!
I can decide by myself when I want to go to bed... I'm not a child anymore, Nintendo !
I'm feeling a little stupid for having paid a Wii U at the full price of 340€ only 4 months ago... knowing what is happening, if I could turn back time I would never have bought it on day one and instead I would have bought it at christmas 2013 for half its original price with some triple-A games that I hope will be finally available for that date...
On Amazon.it you can already pre-order the boxed version for €39.58. I could bet 1€ that the price in Europe for the digital version will be the usual €44.90.
Much more than Castlevania or Mega man, it reminds me DUCK TALES... look at how the hero is jumping from brick to brick by using his showel as a pogo stick... just like Uncle Scrooge in the old Capcom NES game.

For what I understand about music tech (not much) it seems MIDI + use of samples now and then to me.

Re: Mario Party: Island Tour Delayed to Early 2014 in Europe
I hope Nintendo will use this extra time to implement an online multiplayer mode
Re: Nintendo Direct: Wii U And 3DS Broadcast Coming Tomorrow
My (quite) reasonable hopes for tomorrow:
1) Nintendo confirms that all their games from now on will support online multiplayer
2) Super Mario 3D World will have a playable demo, and it'll be available next thursday
Re: Review: Gradius (Wii U eShop / NES)
I'd rather prefer to buy (again) its sequel, Gradius II / Gofer no yabou, or as we know it here in Italy - Vulcan Venture.
Re: Wii Sports Club Takes The Competition Online With HD Visuals And Wii MotionPlus Support
And I also hope that they'll support the Wii Balance Board for Golf.
Re: Wii Sports Club Takes The Competition Online With HD Visuals And Wii MotionPlus Support
My hope is that sooner or later they'll eventually add the Kendo game from Wii Sports Resort.

Re: Petit Computer Looks Set for the 3DS
Well, if Smilebit will need the very same amount of time to bring it in Europe, I'm looking forward it towards the end of 2016..
Re: Review: Life Force (Virtual Console / NES)
I had this game on my NES, it was the game that made me discover the existence of the infamous Konami code

@Zodiak13 Nice avatar, Skies of Arcadia is still one of the games I'd love to see remade on the Wii U or on the 3DS

I'd like to see Tomodachi collection published here in Europe...

I'm getting Animal Crossing (and without spending a single dime, courtesy of Nintendo)

Never liked it too much. IMHO Super Mario Bros 3 is still the best 2D Mario ever released.

Re: Standalone Pink Nintendo 3DS XL System Coming To UK in May
Nintendo should definitely make a limited edition by using this shade of pink and putting the face of Kirby in front
That would be the coolest 3DS XL ever
Re: Nintendo Direct: Watch The European 3DS Presentation Live
I'm just hoping to see someone announcing a limited edition of the 3DS XL with Animal crossing bundled together
Re: Nintendo Direct: Watch The European 3DS Presentation Live
Neo geo games available for the 3DS virtual console... hehehe....
Re: Review: NAM-1975 (Wii Virtual Console / Neo Geo)
I never liked this game; I always though of this game as a "Cabal" rip-off, a lot less fun than the original arcade game made by TAD Corporation.

@sillygostly here where I live (Venice, Italy) it's the same: a lot of copies available for the Wii U and no copies for the 3DS.

Why is that surprising? The developers are simply going where the money is going to be.
