I'm sure plenty of us would buy an N64 or Gamecube Mini.

We'd buy it now, or in 5 years or in 10 years. Nintendo don't need our money right now, but if Switch sales start to lag, I can see them reviving the Classic Mini concept.

Is it just me, or is there something slightly seedy about a firmware update to a toy that essentially advertises an upcoming accessory?

If this is how Nintendo wants to release their games in future, let's hope it ends up more like Splatoon than New Horizons.

Both games slowly added content over time, but while Splatoon eventually became a complete game, ACNH is still lacking a ton of features from previous games that I doubt we'll ever get at this point.

Dunno how I feel about this. Splatoon 2 felt more like 1.5 at times - which is fine as a lot of people missed out on the first.

If they're gonna do a second sequel on Switch, I'd rather it felt more fresh tbh. Hope they limit the returning stages.

Why is Switch Lite listed as 2nd in sales when it sold less than the PS5 (21,528 vs 22,336)?

I'm glad this game got a second chance on Switch and many more people get to experience it. It's just fun, pure and simple. Nothing groundbreaking, but it doesn't have to be.

@Friendly seems a general trend in the industry. I've not got the numbers to back it up, so I apologise for that. It just seems to me that every AAA game gets an 8/10 minimum score, in many cases undeservedly.

IGN in particular seem incapable of giving a game below a score of 9.

In case anyone's interested, Famitsu also gave Sonic 06, a barely functional game, 30/40. On average, they thought the game was a 7.5/10.

Famitsu are one of the worst examples of score inflation in video game reviews. Don't think I've ever seen a relevant game get less than 32/40 (4 8/10s).

@acNewUpdates @DTFaux yeah I get why this is the case, I'm just sad about the state of gaming.

Nintendo as a business has a duty to make as much money as possible,so I can't fault them for going down this kind of path. And it could be far worse - there's no Animal Crossing season pass or loot boxes in Mario Kart (yet).

It depresses me how much cool and unique content games like this and Mario Kart Tour are getting vs. the main series games. It's clear where Nintendo's priorities lie

@Clyde_Radcliffe I don't really know of much quite the same as what you're looking for. The closest thing I can think of is Sayonara Wild Hearts, which is decent.

Maybe Avicii Invector, but the gameplay of that is more akin to the Guitar Hero games.

I do wonder how they'd do a dual screen switch and make it affordable. They can hardly afford to make a screen much smaller than the Switch Lite's without sacrificing the playability of many text-heavy games, but two large screens would be very expensive. :/

@Moroboshi876 if you buy one you get the rest for 60% off, or around 1.80 each. So the entire collection would end up costing you about £13.50 on Switch, which seems like a decent price.

I wouldn't recommend the 3ds version due to framerate issues, especially in Runner.

I already own both Complete and Saga yet I know I'm gonna buy these again on Switch.

Published by Qubic Games though, so I might just wait for the inevitable >80% off sale.

@Dezzy cleaning the joy con is only a temporary fix. Eventually the analogue sticks have to be replaced.

I've replaced the sticks in 5 joy con so far, between my brother and myself. It's not dear, but the product is defective and Nintendo need to be held accountable.

Galaxy is the best in my eyes. One of my favourite games of all time and almost as close to perfection as a game can get.

Can't recommend Edith Finch enough - got it on sale and completed in an afternoon. It's a totally unforgettable experience.

Picked up Florence as well - it's fine but only about 40 minutes long. It's also more style over substance, tbh. Sayonara Wild Hearts is decent but also criminally short.

Awakening's sales were a surprise to everyone, and if the same amount of effort was put into a new AW I don't see why that couldn't surprise people as well.

I think Nintendogs is way more suited to mobile than Switch.

Having a virtual pet with you on the go, with potential AR implementation - I think the game could be immensely popular. I'm actually surprised Nintendo hasn't already released a mobile version.

They look good, and the included motion controls are a nice addition.

If the sticks don't drift, these are easily better than the official controllers. I'm definitely interested.

@playstation_king yeah there's that point too - I think a way higher proportion of Switch owners are traditional gamers, more likely to be interested in Xenoblade.

Regardless, its nice to see it doing so well - now give us a port of X!

@playstation_king I think they're referring more to active users as opposed to the raw number of people who own the console.

Xenoblade was released very late in the Wii's life, with dwindling numbers of people still using the console, whereas Definitive has released at the height of the Switch's popularity.

If you want the origami sheets but aren't bothered about the stickers, Shopto has the game including sheets for £7 less.

AFAIK Nintendo Life don't often tend to reveal spoilers in article titles, so you could definitely keep using this website if you exercise caution.

I really enjoyed Miiverse, right up until it came to 3DS. At that point, it became flooded with 10 year olds talking about Minecraft and cyber dating.

With an older demographic of Switch owners, however, I would definitely welcome its return! It was definitely one of the best features to come from the Wii U.

I really like the VR in this. Looks good and the game's visuals are simplistic enough for the low resolution to not be too distracting.

Unfortunately the lack of a head strap on the Labo VR breaks the immersion a bit as you can't use the headset alongside motion controls.

Still, this is a pretty good effort and one of my favourite Switch VR experiences so far.

The slow, shambling death of Game is due to the company itself, nobody else.

It's not just the fact they're overpriced. They've alienated gamers by trying to appeal to the casual market. Half the store is taken up by mobile phones. Most of the rest is pricy games merch.

Staff are under trained with little to no knowledge of the games they're selling.

You get harassed at the till to buy extras on top of your game. No, I don't need 2 years of insurance on a switch cartridge, ta.

I feel for anyone who is going to lose their job, but this is undoubtedly a good riddance. Hopefully a new retailer rises to plug the gap, cos I do think there's a market for a games shop on the modern High Street. CeX is evidence of that.
