Re: Poll: Which Wii U E3 Game Has Impressed You the Most?

BossBattles

Mario Kart 8 was the most surprising, because it actually looks like it is trying hard to be impressive.

@emblem: i will buy both Pikmin 3 and TW101. Totally different gaming experiences, different art style, different everything, aside from the loose connection of controlling multiple things at once in its gameplay.

Re: Silicon Studio Near "Maximum Performance" With Wii U, 3DS Hardware

BossBattles

@aaronsullivan true. but for me, these goes without saying and has very little to do with my overall enjoyment of the hobby. technology improves, and with improvements, there can also be more annoyances. it kind of balances out, and what always ends up mattering to me is how good a game is.

I never worry about framerate, glitches, or "performance". for the most part, those things can never destroy a great game, because great games are usually created with more care anyways.

Re: Silicon Studio Near "Maximum Performance" With Wii U, 3DS Hardware

I doubt that they are actually at maximum potential. there is always ways to squeeze more surprises out of a console, especially this early on. These kinds of reports have a tendency to get people worried or have a needless debate when really people USED TO just focus on which games were fun, and be thankful for what we got.

Re: Feature: Celebrating Ten Years of The Wind Waker

I've always loved WW. When it came out i played it twice in a row and got everything 100%. Played thru it again last year, and will be happy to play the HD Wii U version when it releases!!!!

I am still blown away that people were upset with the visual style that holds up as well as any style in gaming history, as well as why people were "bored" with the ocean....just shows some lack imagination!

Re: Analyst: Nintendo of America "Forgot Marketing 101" For Wii U

BossBattles

These guys get paid for this?

Yeah, nintendo did a horrendous job with marketing, no doubt.
I think things will pick-up when games start to stream in and the price comes down a little. A great marketing campaign could also help in a big way. Nobody knows the thing exists, and if they do they don't know what it is.

Nintendo needs to market with more self awareness...poke fun at themselves, acknowledge the perception of the company from western gamers and make a meme out of it. Its very simple...hire me and i'll fix this right up for ya. Reggie and Iwata gimme a call.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Identity Crisis

BossBattles

I agree that the commercials and overall presentation of the product has been absolutely horrendous.

Nintendo needs a different angle. Stop the cheese!!!!
Show what it does, mention HD, show examples of nice visuals, not just goofy fake families playing minigames.

Can't use the same approach they did with Wii.

Look how much the kevin butler commercials turned it around for the perception of PS3....nintendo needs a sense of humor, not fake hardcore and not fake family crap.

Re: Reggie: Pace Of Wii U Software Launches Is "Slower Than Hoped"

BossBattles

Gamers seems to be schizophrenic these days. They complain about not having money, things costing too much, and then get rabid because they don't have 30 games to buy at once on a 6 month old console.

What happened to people? It's a serious question. I think people have lost it.

This is nothing new. Consoles have cycles, and obviously the first year is usually pretty darn BARREN. Even so, I have over 10 games for my Wii U, and i've enjoyed THEM ALL.

Sad to see that such a fun hobby has so much negativity attached to it every single day.
