Re: Satoru Iwata Refutes Claim That Nintendo Is "Suffering" Right Now

BossBattles

Societies are dumbed down by design, and this is what we get as a result:
Dogpile daily on a perceived weakness in the console business due to years and years of careful propaganda from "analysts" and game "journalists".

Nintendo has been bashed for a long time now, and they keep going.
You are clueless if you think you can determine a consoles success after 8 months.

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (3DS)

BossBattles

@stipey Sticker Star is clever. It's also extremely fun, especially if you are going for 100% collection rate, which was addictive to pursue and attain. I wanted it to keep going on and on, but had to stop.

there are some inconsistent things in the game, but overall, it is such an awesome paper mario game that for some reason fly high over everyone's head. kinda sad.

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (3DS)

BossBattles

the Mario & Luigi series is so consistent and so good. I replay them and they are still a blast. I'm so excited for this title. The only problem is that i spend all my time paying ACNL....how will i split my time between the two?....not to mention SMTIV coming next week....

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U Has Plenty of Opportunities for "Brand-New Types of Games"

BossBattles

I honestly think most have it wrong about the Wii U. it already is a fantastic console with a bright near future ahead. I've loved my time with the downloadable and disc based games, and will be getting a minimum of 7 more by the end of the year. Not bad for its first year at all.

What is disturbing is these developers that stick their nose up at the system, as if they are so superior because they choose to limit the consoles they provide content for. It's insanity on a large scale. Gaming culture is in a death spiral with its intended focus on DRM, no backward compatibility, charging for online, ect. ect., yet Nintendo bucks these trends and continues to deliver a fun and NEW console experience, with Miiverse, the gamepad, and Nintendo greatness in HD....

people are cynical and sad to have nintendo fly right past them. Gamers have forgotten and don't know how to have fun anymore. I know i do, and since i do, i happily play the Wii U.

Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue

BossBattles

Definitely a point of view that needs to be out there to balance out the argument.

I think the biggest point is that the amount of gamers that ACTUALLY would import games is so small that it truly doesn't matter. IF you really want to get certain games like that, you'll go the extra mile.

that is not to say i wouldn't like the system to be region free.

Re: Nintendo To Focus On Struggling Markets In The Short-Term

BossBattles

when it was obvious the 3DS was priced too high, they acted aggressively and people responded.

i sure hope they aren't just being proud right now, and don't have a plan up their sleeves with the Wii U. it needs to come down at least $50, and they should offer some great deals with it, or make a new SKU that has some more games packed-in, or something. whatever it takes.

Re: Nintendo to Bring "Brand-New Types of Games" to Wii U in the Coming Months

BossBattles

@Hyperstar96

reading comprehension is key. i was speaking about the moment an HD console was announced by Nintendo, i was on board, because i am a fan of their software/hardware.

modern gaming culture is so far gone they don't even appreciate the basics anymore. Very little fun to be had among the online gaming sites. Just endless criticisms, Pachter lies, and dudebro hipster whining over every facet of gaming.

its old.

Re: Eiji Aonuma - The Wind Waker HD is a "Test Case" for New Zelda Wii U Title

BossBattles

It's weird how everyone clamors for a new zelda right off the bat, when it is obvious it wouldn't be ready yet. We just got skyward sword less than 2 years ago. That means they couldn't possibly be ready for a new zelda until next holiday or the year after that.

One zelda per generation is about what is guaranteed, so its best to wait till they finish it and polish it up.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Third-Party Concerns Are Brushed Off By 3DS

BossBattles

I always knew the 3DS would catch on.

The Wii U, not so sure. They need to aggressively seem like they give a crap, which it seems like they don't yet. Price cut, new colors, announced games, a good marketing campaign that is actually interesting, as well as allowing 3DS games to be played on the gamepad/tv...which would instantly make tons of people happy.

oh well. be lazy i guess.

Re: Investor Approval Rating For Satoru Iwata Drops To 77.26 Precent

BossBattles

People literally don't know your new console exists or that it even is a new console. That is a massive failure.

I appreciate them doing "their own thing", but it would be intelligent to be competitive on multiple levels just so you are perceived as such by all the dummies out there that otherwise will never take notice.

Re: Impressions: Multiplayer is a Big Deal in Nintendo's Wii U Lineup

BossBattles

Can someone address how it feels to play Super Mario 3D World single player?

I can't imagine being challenged at all, and that is a frightening prospect for a 3D mario game.

with 3D Land, it was single player, so the level design was great and could challenge you. making the courses big enough for 4 people to run around in makes me worried that playing alone will be less than exciting. (although fun)

Re: Review: New Super Luigi U (Wii U)

BossBattles

@theberrage get better at controlling him. that is the whole point of gaming, to learn new gameplay skills and master them and have fun. he becomes more enjoyable than mario once you get used to it.

Re: Review: Game & Wario (Wii U)

BossBattles

Super Luigi U is great for a challenge as long as you go for all star coins/secret exits. This looks like something I'll pick up just to mess around with. My Wii U collection is pretty substantial and it hasn't even been a full year. After Aug-Dec its going to be looking pretty solid.

Re: Impressions: The Best Buy "Nintendo Experience"

BossBattles

I went to an event but it was too packed, forgot my 3DS for streetpass, and had to leave before my name came up. I was shocked there wasn't at least two screens. It was good to see nintendo fans out in the wild, and mario kart 8 looked great.

Re: Reggie: This Holiday Season Is Going To Be Extremely Strong For Wii U

BossBattles

Gamers as they are now are not recognizable to me as real gamers.
Real gamers don't hate certain consoles or genres. They embrace all types of games as long as they have quality, and you buy whatever console is out that has great games on it.

You don't choose sides like a bratty child and point the finger at gamers that choose something different than you.

Gaming media and the dew and dorito dudebrow/hipster
Are the ugly side of this culture and they need to be ignored.

Re: Pachter: Without Third Party Support Nintendo Fans May End Up Buying A Second Console

BossBattles

It's sad that "Nintendo" website promotes this professional troll. The way that you help Nintendo is by turning the cultural tide. The hatred for the brand from dorito and dew dudebro's and media-hipsters has been the biggest problem for Nintendo.

They continue to make first rate games that are more "fun" than any other games, but they are somehow expect to be ALL THINGS TO ALL PEOPLE, whereas other consoles can do their thing and not be expected to deliver 1st party experiences of all types.

Gaming culture is now disgusting and shameful in how it treats its own creative game makers. Every hipster and dew and dorito gamer should stop thinking that because they play shooters it makes them more "mature" and to laugh at people for playing platformers with more than two colors is "cool".

Pachter can SHOVE IT.

Re: Review: Sonic the Hedgehog (3DS eShop / Game Gear)

BossBattles

I WISH i could "get into" Sonic fully...i've tried dozens of times. i think its because of the imprecise nature of the gameplay, or loose feel it has. Not sure.

I have enjoyed some of his titles, but overall no. I'll keep trying when Sonic Lost World comes out.
