Re: Hackers Have Found A Way To Exploit The Switch, And It's Apparently 'Unpatchable'

BlueEyedViper

@Shaniquatendo Yeah, I do get what you're saying. In my case...there's really no reason to other than the portability as I have a Retropie build and a Super Retrocade. I still might do it out of being curious once the exploit is stable, but I'm not sure yet. And yeah, maybe I could of just not purchased the system and "voted with my wallet" so to speak...but that's not really going to do any good since it's Nintendo we're talking about. They could probably afford to do this crap for the next half-century and still be okay, just because they're Nintendo. There will always be tons of people buying anything with the Nintendo name on it (and then scalping the hell out of it if it involves Super Mario or anything from the Gamecube down in any way), so the few people who would boycott aren't going to change much of anything when there's millions who would even if it sucks or certain expected features go missing.

Re: Death Road To Canada Delayed Following The Recent Attack In Toronto

BlueEyedViper

@AcridSkull I have to agree but only because of how often games are delayed these days. I get why they did it though...it's good PR. Guess I just need to get into the habit of treating release dates like weather forecasts. You never know when there's going to be a last minute postponing because of either a technical issue or an unfortunate event in the real world like this.

Re: Review: Castle of Heart (Switch eShop)

BlueEyedViper

@JayJ I'm honestly getting a tad burnt out on this kind of thing, even if I love the genre. It's as if platformers can't be like Super Mario or Sonic anymore. Those aren't always cakewalks but also won't kill you off every five seconds or see you repeating the same level 30 plus times.

Re: Review: Castle of Heart (Switch eShop)

Am I the only one who's getting a little burnt out on all these "hard as hell, fail your way to success" type games? I know I'm leaving myself completely open to git-gudders in saying that, but it's as if a lot of indie developers don't know about this thing between being mindnumbingly easy and incredibly difficult called "normal". I enjoy playing the harder stuff, don't get me wrong (beat cuphead multiple times, wonderboy on the hardest mode and I'm contemplating digging into this "insane" mode that's apparently in the game)...but it would be nice to play a side-scroller that strikes a balance.

Re: Super-Hard Action Title Furi Is Hacking Its Way To Switch In 2018

BlueEyedViper

Eh, as far as "brutally difficult" games go...I didn't feel compelled to finish this game or even play it past the couple of hours I spent with it when it was a freebie over on PS Plus. Cuphead is honestly the better boss rush game and I've finished it a few times. Also hard as hell...but at least the fights don't drag on once you know what to do and it really works in the game's favor. Furi just felt too drawn out and repetitive.

(Let's see how long it takes for a troll to respond with "git gud")

Re: Yooka-Laylee's Nintendo Switch eShop Price Is Revealed

BlueEyedViper

@Switch_will_fail Someone finally said it. Thank you. Some of the people on here must only own a Switch and/or are acting like it was the only platform this game was ever going to be available for. Playtonic mentioned that this port was going to take time and let people know well in advance, which is better communication than most kickstarter projects I've seen lately. All of these people crying could have gotten it for the PC or other platforms for the price they want (which obviously isn't $35-40) months ago thanks to all the sales if they wanted to play it that bad.

Re: Review: Sonic Forces (Switch)

BlueEyedViper

@WillTheLion The best of the games that used the Kid Kool/Psycho Fox engine if you ask me. They really nailed it with that game's level design. There's a reason it's on almost every Sega compilation out there.

Re: Review: Sonic Forces (Switch)

BlueEyedViper

Just finished it this afternoon. I can't say it's anything above average. Again, the 2D is where the game has its moments and that's probably what they should stick with. Well, unless another bunch of talented people that aren't Sonic Team want to try and make a 3D Sonic next. It's clear that they just don't know what the bulk of us want, and while this is a passable experience...it's just more proof of that given the polarizing reception.

Re: Nintendo Gamers Prefer Using Switch As A Handheld Rather Than Docked

BlueEyedViper

Normally I use it in docked mode. I do bring it to my college since I have a ton of down time in between classes and my job on the campus, but as some have said...trust issues. Especially since I live in a bad/ghetto neighborhood. Fortunately...nobody's bothered me about it so far. Think they're more concerned about getting a new album or a gucci belt or jordans or something else not pertaining to games.
