@Draco9898 I’m not too well-versed in how online play works (all I know is that all, if not most, of the games that use NSO are PTP, and that they all suck, just for the record), but you said that Mario Kart and Smash use the same, if not similar. Then why is Mario Kart’s online so good, yet Smash’s is so bad at times? I don’t think I’ve played a single round in Mario Kart where it lagged, let alone to the extent that Smash does, and that’s also far less often than Smash. Same goes for Splatoon 2.
@Dethmunk I pre ordered it the day after it was announced, and I’m not regretting a single thing. And just because someone says that they’re not double dipping, doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t. I’ve been playing 3D Land, and MAN I forgot how much I loved that game. Even if my 3D World disc wasn’t scratched and stuff, I probably wouldn’t play it anyway, since I’d want to wait for the Switch version, as I’d be tired out of 3D Land and World by that point, and what’s the point of playing it if I don’t want to? And besides, I have 3D Land to finish (I have 2 worlds left) and I just bought NSMB2, so I’m also playing through that (I’m on the final world). Both are severely underrated games imo. I’ve played every NSMB game except for Wii, and I’ve had fun with every single one (yes, including U Deluxe and Luigi U).
To all of you complaining, saying that it’s not worth the double dip, if it were Galaxy or Galaxy 2 getting this treatment instead of 3D world, I’m pretty sure that all of you, if not, most of you would double dip because it’s Galaxy
@FlaviusFire that’s the case with most Wii U ports. This one is different because of Bowser’s Fury and the subtle changes they made in the base game (i.e. the characters move roughly 20% faster, online play, etc.). Imo, this is by far the Wii U port with the most effort put into it so far, and it’s by far worth the double dip for me. Also, I had the original, but the disc got slightly scratched and now the Wii U can’t read it. I haven’t played it in a good 5ish years, and I don’t remember much of it, so it’s going to be like a brand new game for me!
In order to get 25 of those popsicle sticks, they must’ve had to spent $18,000, and since the card itself is worth $300, you get 25 of them, so it would be worth $7500 combined, so is it really worth spending that much legitimately? No, so I can see why they were suspicious. Figured I’d share the math to you guys.
Does anyone know if it’s also possible to send videos from your Switch to a PC or phone? Also, why do I have a feeling that the sending photos to PC thing is going to lead to some sort of vulnerability that leads to hacking/modding the Switch from that one thing? I don’t have a negative view on that sort of thing, but I just have a feeling that it’ll happen.
Off-topic: Did anyone else, when reading the title, think of that one Spongebob episode when the Flying Dutchman lived in Spongebob’s house for a few months, where there was that old guy on tv that said “THE POWER WITHIN!!!”
Why does Sunshine feel like the Sonic ‘06 of Mario (to a much, MUCH lesser extent)? I didn’t play the original or on an emulator since my computer is crap, but it seems like I can’t go 5 minutes without any bugs or clips or anything like that. It just seems the least polished of the three games to me. Does anyone else experience this in 3D All Stars, and is it usually this buggy and stuff in the original or on an emulator? Btw, I’m only counting glitches and bugs and whatnot. Not counting stuff that are leftovers like debug cubes, or this glitch.
@AndyC_MK84 it’s actually the top 35 people, and I think it either ends today, or ended yesterday iirc. I’m not sure though I’ll double check.
Edit: Yeah, it ended yesterday. I believe you can still play it, but you can’t get the gold coin sadly. I wasn’t able to participate because of school, but at least we still have 2 more chances with the Smash Ultimate one and the Splatoon 2 splatfest one!
@AndyC_MK84 I kind of like MM2’s building UI, even in docked. MM1’s was better, but I think the part that 2 lacks is the charm and experimenting to see what you can combine with what to get new creations. For the most part, the only thing I can think of that MM2 even does close to this is unlocking the moon. Also, another thing 1 has over 2 imo is having a way to try to get the player back in by having you unlock new items to mess around with every day. Doing the way they did it in MM2 is like if you unlocked every character from the start in Smash Ultimate. And the Amiibo costumes too. MM2 streamlined everything both for the better and for the worse. It makes it simpler and easier to build levels for new players, but it takes away some, if not most, of the charm and fun experimentation that the first game had. If they just didn’t let you unlock next to everything when you bought the game, and got rid of the quick select thing when you hold on an item or something or a second or two, then it would be much better imo. I played the first game much more than the second mainly because of this. Half of the fun was experimenting for me! MM2 isn’t bad, I just feel like for every step forward Nintendo took with 2, they took 3 steps back from 1.
@AndyC_MK84 I see lots of classic style Mario stages all the time! Sure, it’s not as common as troll levels, music levels, or speed run levels, but I still see a ton of them! Just go into “Detailed Search” in Course World, and go to one of the tabs on the left, scroll all the way down until you see tags, and click on “All” to get rid of all of the tabs, and tap “Classic” and then search, and there you go! Btw, if the names aren’t exactly correct, I’m sorry, haven’t played MM2 in like a month because of school, but you should be able to get the gist of what I mean by them.
@westman98 what happened that made MM2 “underperform”? Everyone was talking about it up until a month or two after it came out, but not that much after that. Now that I think of it, I think I’ve only seen one or two ads on Youtube about MM2. Maybe it was because of that?
@dugan they supported MM1 for about 5 years. I personally think they’ll support MM2 and all of the popular 1st party multiplayer games that may or may not use NSO, like MM2, Splatoon 2, and Smash at least until the new console and/or the Switch dies. Maybe (and hopefully) even longer than that! I think it’s better to look at how long the Switch will last, instead of older games, because the Switch may outlast even how long the Wii lived, and also because most of these games are sequels to games on the Wii U or 3DS, and basing these new games off of older ones that were on a console that lasted for 5 years tops, I don’t think is fair. Unless they make a new game on the Switch, I see it lasting until the Switch dies. But even then, they may still support them.
I have one question though: Why did MM2 get so few content updates, even compared to the original? And why is it not as widely talked about as the original? I mean, after it came out (like after the first month or two), no one really talked about it all that much. Heck, I didn’t even know about the Link update until like March (then again, I may not have been paying attention, but usually I do for that kind of thing)! Surely I can’t be the only one who thinks this is weird, right?
I personally think that, before DLC, Sword and Shield were mediocre at best. But after DLC, the Crown Tundra specifically, it made it average at best (for clarification, when I say mediocre or average at best, I mean compared to other Pokemon games).
@KingMike lol a few months ago I tried using dolphin because me and my friend wanted to play Smash Melee with each other online, and I was lucky if it got to 4 FPS in training mode lol
@chipia I doubt it. They say that they make improvements to the online play pretty much every patch, but it still sucks. Haven’t played the 9.0.0 update yet, but I doubt it’s been improved. And if it has, it’s probably VERY slightly. Again, I haven’t played this patch yet, so I don’t know yet. I will play it later today.
@Captain_Toad I think a flurry attack is a rapid jab, and I think that what they mean by “neutralized” is that two moves cancel out, in this case, probably a rapid jab with another move. At least, that’s how I interpreted it.

@The_Pixel_King from what I’ve heard, it’s typically a day or two before the game comes out. So, it could be tomorrow or Thursday!

@sanderev there is still actually a playerbase for Splatoon 1 still. MK8, though, idk.
