@gatorboi352 to be fair, that's with everything. Things lose their luster over time. Then our eyes look to something else. It's like kids on Christmas Day. They're excited, then they get bored and want something else. Actually, adults aren't too different : )
@gatorboi352 yes, time will tell. I suppose no one really knows how successful a console will be. And the danger of being an earlier adopter (which I am) is that it can do poorly. Still, I'm pretty optimistic. Hope it works out for everyone.
I had to make a decision - gaming is limited to me, so I gave up the PS4 for the Switch. It was hard because the PS4 is a great system with lots of amazing games. But with limited funds and with a family this seemed like the better option for me. There will be plenty of games for the Switch it appears.
@RadioHedgeFund You could be right but that's too bad if that's the case. I liked seeing all the achievements/trophies on one fancy menu item. Some individual games on Nintendo have them but it's nice when it's all together. I just found it to be a nice little hobby to collect things.
@FragRed they're old shows, but I grew up with Dr Who classics, Keeping Up Appearances, Are You Being Served?, Fawlty Towers, Mr. Bean on public television. We used to record Dr Who on VHS. Great memories.
I was wondering about this. At least I can get a new battery. Certainly better than buying a new Switch for a battery. Of course I'd much prefer to able to access the battery and replace it myself.
@thesilverbrick Thats a good question. Achievements may not be for everyone, but I found it on PlayStation as a nice way to get more out of a game. It became sort of hobby to trophy hunt. Some were pretty tough to get so it felt like an accomplishment to get them. Then you could see all the trophies you earned from the different games you've played. And you can compare with your friends. I never bought a game because the trophies were easy to get. But the games I wanted I tried get all the trophies and earn a platinum if possible. All in all I just found it an extra fun thing to do and get more out of a game.
@idrawrobots for me at least I've always enjoyed collecting things in games. It was a hobby when I had a Playststion. For some reason I get extra enjoyment out of a game when I can earn things. It's kind of an accomplishment if I get everything.
I'm actually really excited about the Switch. It looks great. I love the portability feature. The beauty is you can add as much or as little as you want. Will it succeed? Who knows. If you want it, go for it. If not, just wait. Just enjoy what gaming is all about - fun.
@Luna_110 I actually sold my PS4 today, kinda bummed but I wasn't playing it anymore - just didn't have the time. And I wanted to get the Switch. Zelda will keep me very busy - probably take me a couple of years to finish. And I want that Mario game!

I'm getting Zelda, 1-2 Switch (for family and parties), and a couple eshop games (Snipperclips and Fast Racing Neo)
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Launch Games & Release Dates 2017
Lots of games! But I'm hoping some big AAA titles get released. It's old now but I would live GTA V would be awesome on the Switch.

Off topic, but has there been any news about an achievement system? Probably not since news has been limited.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE lol, American here, but I agree with you. I like the older classic sitcoms and enjoy British tv.

Love Kojima games...would be awesome to see something on Nintendo. Probably won't happen though. That game he's working on looks pretty amazing.

@Andrzej777 thanks for answering. I HOPE it's usable after, but we'll see.
Re: Nintendo Will Replace Your Dead Switch Battery, At A Cost
Does this mean that it can't be docked and plugged in after the battery life is gone?

@daveh30 I want an achievement system so bad on Nintendo. That's the biggest reason why I chose some games over a Wii U version.
Re: Capcom Has No Plans To Infect The Nintendo Switch With Resident Evil "At The Moment"
Bummer. But not worth fretting about. Buy the Switch, wait or don't buy it. I'm in. Hopefully it works out. Time will tell.
