Good review, even if there are a few errors in small details such as implying drivers/blades exist in the first game's world and some terminology (these are definitely nitpicks, though). Personally I feel like the game's biggest flaw is some obnoxious padding near the end that kills some of the momentum. I recommend it, but only to people who played and enjoyed the base game.
Good news for me. Similarly to Takahashi, I enjoy that each main game so far has felt different from the last, while still establishing a sort of identity for the series.
I hope they've completely fixed the pro controller's d-pad for this model's launch, since I've still heard conflicting reports about the Xenoblade one. Either way, I really dig the clean black and white color scheme.
Ironically, I'd probably use it for every game EXCEPT Smash. The GC controller's just too comfortable for me.
This is apparently a spin-off from what I've seen. I'm fine with this game existing (might even pick it up), assuming that they're planning to be far more ambitious than this with the next main entry.
I can't wait for the full game! I can agree that it's not for everyone, with its partly automatic combat being a huge factor (though the boss battles were far more interesting), but I still found it strangely addictive once I knew what to expect for my second playthrough of the demo (I disliked the first playthrough). As for the game's overall success, I feel it could be big with kids, especially if they're both willing to accept the Japanese culture of the series, and interested in the game's features for connecting multiple copies, like how collecting, trading, and fighting helped make Pokémon successful.
That's pretty sick-minded. It's good they were arrested but I can't believe something like that almost happened. Hopefully good security will prevent future threats from getting farther than this one.
It would be pretty amazing if this was true, since it would mean some very big titles could launch alongside the NX. I don't see why Nintendo would refuse, considering they're apparently putting tons of effort into the system just on their own, although there will probably be big obstacles. Either way, I've been dying to try a modern FF game (MMO or not) since I've only played Final Fantasy 3 on the DS so far.
I still can't believe that we can't make regular or local tourneys. It's also a shame that you can't allow custom special moves without activating the stat-boosting items.
This E3 was very disappointing for me, but you can't have phenomenal E3s like last year without having some low points. I'm sure that with the work they're putting into the NX to supply it with new games, we'll get a good start to the next gen at least. But I agree, there were a lot of heartbreaking moments this time around.
I'm one of the few who really liked the controls, and though I get why people criticize it, I personally found the controls comfortable and much quicker than they'd be otherwise. The only real complaint I have is that the powers were hard to activate in the middle of combat without messing up (because I would slide the bar instead of picking the one I wanted), but otherwise it felt really smooth and fun.
I've always loved the first three Paper Mario games, so I hope that the next one, whenever it's announced, is just as good. One of the things I disliked about Sticker Star was that the exploration felt more limited (and less connected) due to the world map. I feel like removing both that and Sticker Star's battle system would help me enjoy it more.
At 0:28 it shows the characters being swapped, but I thought I heard somewhere that you couldn't change who you're playing as in mid-battle on the wii u version.
Well I guess Splatoon's an example of something that I didn't know I wanted, so if they can pull something similar off again at this E3, then it should be a lot of fun. Also, Reggie, I've always wanted Mother 1 and 3.
As long as we get Roy and a fresh, original character (preferably from an underrated series), I'll be fine. Truthfully, I would have voted for Takamaru, but he's already an assist trophy.
@Ryu_Niiyama The main flaw I see with such a weapon is how a team consisting completely of F.L.U.D.D.s would work. It's not like they'd be able to claim anything.

Re: Treat Yourself To A Bargain Or Two With The Nintendo New Year's Sale In North America
Gunman Clive for a pound? I can't say it's a bad deal, but it's not what I'd expect from this sale, considering the region. XD
