Nintendo's done some good content on its YouTube channels in the past couple of years, and as a result the Nintendo of America account - particularly - has seen a big boost in its subscriber numbers. That channel now appears to be kicking off a new series, simply called Nintendo Challenge.
In this video Bill Trinen is joined by JC and Eric from the Nintendo Treehouse, and they task JC with scoring 100,000 in Smash Run in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS - there are some rules, though:
- Default characters
- No items / equipment
- No power ups
The video shows JC's efforts, and the basic idea is that people post their scores in the YouTube comments section.
If this becomes a regular series, alongside Nintendo Minute, it'll certainly add some diversity to the channel's weekly output. Also, let's be honest - the more we see of Bill Trinen the better.
Let us know what you think of this video and whether you'd like it to be a series.

Nope, Monster Hunter more important, lol
It was hard but I'm really feeling it Shulk helped me out with the 111501 score!
They need to cool it with the solid white background. It's fine for presentations, but something as casual as this should look like it's in a gamer's man-cave, or something cosy.
Did a quick run with Yoshi

131,044 points with my main, Dr. Mario.
141,262 with mah boy Roy!
Speaking of targets, I do miss breaking them...

Rip in pepperoni Break The Targets
I like Smash Run, and I play this a lot with local multiplayer, but really wish it would be updated. Rather than just a single final battle, I wish you could choose to do a variety of them, anywhere from 1 to all of them. Then, based on how you finish you get points and the most points at the end win. This way you would have to perform well over a variety of events, rather than it just being a foregone conclusion, for example, that the fastest player will win Run or Climb.
Difficulty level would be nice, too. It is way too easy in Single player.
And 100,000 is kind of easy for anyone with experience in this mode. :/
@Klimbatize Or a second level, with new enemies.
@Klimbatize I know right? I'd love options to allow you to extend the maze time and fight time. I'd also like to be able to assign music tracks to specific characters so that, say, if I play as Shulk, the song that plays will be either Gaur Plain, Mechanical Rhythm, or You Will Know Our Names.
gets easily comboed constantly by Garuga and Brachydios
.......Ok back to Smash then. >_>
what does no power ups mean?
