Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Online Pre-Orders Are Apparently Being Cancelled (US)

AndrasLOHF

@Diowine Well, unless I am miss-remembering from orders I've done in the past, when you preorder digitally the game will download days prior to the actual release date. Then at the release time the game is immediately ready to be played. If you're foaming at the mouth to play, you don't have to wait whatever amount of time it would take for the game to download. I would imagine that some game waiting until launch day would make for an extremely long download time.

What I am lost on is, why would a person not just preorder diginatlly from the e-shop anyways. Unless perhaps people have Amazon/Walmart points to use???

Re: Unlike Metroid Prime, Quake II's Original Dev Team Is Credited On The Switch Remaster

AndrasLOHF

Definitely seems to be some people in this thread that have probably never created and released anything artistically in their lives and are just consumers of media. Anything that has been re-released in any capacity literally would not exist without the content that was created by the original content creators. To purposefully not credit someone's work on a re-release is what in bird culture you would call a d**k move.

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW

AndrasLOHF

I completely get what you're saying. To me it's not that there is so much to do as I enjoy the heck outta plowing through sidequests in JRPGs, it's just that there is so much to do, with little to no guidance on how to complete them. Like I'm not expecting a guide point system in the way that Xenoblade does since Zelda is much more about exploration, but there is so much to do with vague hints I'll be completing this game and bypassing so much of it. Which I guess can be said is a good thing on a replay of the game at a later date.

All that being said I have been loving TOTK. To me it has improved over BOTW in almost every way. I was so meh on BOTW that I almost didn't get TOTK but I am glad that I did.

Re: Poll: Six Years On, Which Was Nintendo Switch's Best Year So Far?

AndrasLOHF

2019 for me. I'm normally a non-responder to ads, but the Links Awakening ads at the time lead me into purchasing my first console in over a decade. In addition to that game and the games mentioned above on the article, while a little buggy at launch, I absolutely loved Bloodstained. SOTN is pretty much GOAT for me and playing a new take on it for the first time in almost 20 years was amazing.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Metroid Prime Remastered?

AndrasLOHF

I'm absolutely loving it. I really liked Dread, but this is just so much better. Dread was really my first full dive into am Metroid game. When the opening scene started I was like, no way the gameplay graphics are gonna be this good, but the gameplay graphics actually got even better. I also like that it is still very much a Metroid game, and not just FPS with Metroid assets.

@Serpenterror

You wouldn't be doing anything special. Some of the oldest professions in existence like prostitution literally only exist out of paying for a temporary experience/entertainment. Have you ever been to a movie theater, ever been to a theme park, played a video game in an arcade, etc? If so you've bought into it as well. Humans as a whole are just too stuck on ownership of useless things.

@Corvus96

I mean, I play games for the experience of playing them, not the experience of owning them. I know this is a far reaching way to think when it comes to gaming as most gamers are into collectability and building a library. I'd have no problem paying $60 to enjoy a game in the same way I'd pay $60 to experience a live music show/carnival/anything that someone may find fun to do in the real world.

Re: Octopath Traveler 2 Characters - Hero Jobs And Abilities

AndrasLOHF

@earthinheritor Same. I loved it up until I hit a wall that unless I spent a ton of time grinding I just could not advance in any of the storylines no matter which way I setup my team. I might wait awhile and see how users comment on the balancing of the game before purchasing or wait until it goes on sale.

Re: Feature: 5 Accessibility Features That Every Game Should Have

AndrasLOHF

I don't have a full on disability but I wholeheartedly hope that Nintendo continues with the Joy Con type controllers. My right elbow has little to no cartilage left and I have severe osteoarthritis at an early age which makes holding any type of normal Switch Pro/Playstation/XBox type controller extremely painful not only while playing but also for hours afterwards. Being able to place my hands in any position with detached Joy Cons allows me to keep gaming. Not sure what I'll do if this changes.
