It's probably worth noting here, that ubisoft are probably the first developer for the wii to actually utilise the wii shop/wii points in a way that might actually make people aware that it's there.
Actually, hilarious sarcasm aside, I'm quite pleased about this, as it means no 'having to download DLC to artificially boost the profits', and there'll hopefully be a LOT more content to this than there would have been had it been on WiiWare.
Top tip: VC moaners! thinking of complaining about the lack of 'new' release this week? Why not buy a game that's already been released and just telly yourself 'it's just come out'?
WHY do people buy games from genres they don't like just because it has favourable reviews? House of the Dead and Tetsunoko vs Capcom had great reviews ans I didn't buy them? Why? BECAUSE I DON'T ENJOY LIGHTGUN OR FIGHTING GAMES?
As far as I can tell from the covers, they're new games.
The downloadable games from the BBC site are solid, well put together efforts with some rather fiddly(at times) controls and some cunning(ish) puzzles, they kind of play like a point-and-click Prof Layton with stealth sections and are surprisingly playable.
If these games build on that, they could be half decent.
@ Klapaucius - why would you play with CC/GC controller - that's a totally unwieldy way of playing a FPS, when the nunchuck/wiimote combo is possibly the best, most untuitive way of playing a FPS on any console?
WHY IS THERE NO SUBSTANDARD HALF-REMEMBERED GAME FROM THE 90'S FOR ME TO DOWNLOAD THIS WEEK?!
NINTENDO ARE SHOWING HOW LITTEL THEY CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS BY FAILING TO RELEASE SUBSTANDARD GUFF TO CATER FOR MY NEED TO EXPRESS MY SUPERIORITY THROUGH RETRO GAMING.
I really hope the game's graphical style apes the concept art, couple that with some decent controls and inventive gameplay and this could be a winner.
I think that us Brits, as a race, should be proud that we don't take gaming so seriously as to miss out on lovely sunshiney days when they come around.
I like how the abundance of shovelware is the fault of Nintendo.
The fact is, the biggest selling consoles will attract the more opportunistic developers, there was as much, if not more, shovelware, lazy ports and and half-arsed re-hashes on the PS2 as there is on the wii..

Re: Get Your First Look at Black Ops Campaign Mode on Wii
Give the fellas time to play the bloody thing!
I'm guessing they haven't received a review copy.
Hell, I don't that the printed gaming media received advance copies, it's certainly not in the current ONM.
That doesn't bode well.
Re: America, These Are Your New Club Nintendo Rewards
I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Other than wii points, is there ANYTHING on Club Nintendo that isn't load of tacky old crap?
Re: Features: Things We Miss About the 8-Bit Era
Loading screens and music...
Re: Review: Just Dance 2 (Wii)
It's probably worth noting here, that ubisoft are probably the first developer for the wii to actually utilise the wii shop/wii points in a way that might actually make people aware that it's there.
Not even Nintendo do that.
Re: New Golden Sun Trailer Light on Talk, Big on Excitement
Oh.
NOW THEN.
I'll confess to being hugely ignorant of the vast culty history of this game, but it looks like Zelda with turn based scrapping.
COR.
Re: Soccer Up! Revives Arcade Football for WiiWare
Colour me 'intrigued'.
Now, if there was a VC release of Soccer Brawl or Speedball 2 scheduled..
Re: Space Ace ESRB Prepped to Enter the DSiWare Dimension
I'm reminded of an old English saying here.
'You can't polish a turd'.
Re: Wii Party Leads Nintendo Chart Climb
I'm quite happy for games to become 'cult classics'.
They're usually cheaper then.
Re: Review: Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii)
Might get this.
I'll get my missus to go up and pay though
Re: Wii Party Leads Nintendo Chart Climb
Note to 3rd party developers.
This is what happens when you bother to MARKET your games.
Re: Netflix Channel Now Available From Wii Shop
Oooh, hopefully this is coming to the EU soon..
Re: Doctor Who: Return to Earth
How have they managed to make this look WORSE than the free games on the BBC website?
Re: Details of Doctor Who Titles Emerge from the TARDIS
The DS game looks more inviting than the Wii.
If the DS game is nothing more than Professor Layton with the Doctor and Amy, that'll do me.
Re: North America Cools Down with Club Nintendo Folding Fans
Is there ANYTHING on Club Nintendo's reward scheme that ISN'T worthless old crap?
Re: Review: FIFA 11 (Wii)
Fifa on the 360/PS3, PES on the Wii kids.
That's what the smart playas do.
Re: Sega Strikes Poor Sonic Games from Catalogue to "Increase Brand Value"
So, they've reduced the official Sonic back catalogue to Sonic 1, 2, 3 and the DS games then?
Re: Lost in Shadow
So hang on, NiC wants to buy innovative and atmospheric games but doesn't want to pay more than £10 for them?
I'm starting to see why 'Ico' never sold now..
Re: First Impressions: Lost in Shadow
On the grounds that I was willing to buy the stunning-but-criminally short 'Ico', I'd buy this if it's heading for full release.
Assuming it reviews well of course.

Re: You Can Stop Waiting for Worms: Battle Islands on WiiWare Now
If only there was some way of 'gift-wrapping' games..
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th September (Europe)
@Omega - I mean, you're being sensible about slow download weeks, well played here.
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th September (Europe)
@Omega - careful, this sounds dangerously like 'sense' and 'having some perspective'.

Re: Peter Moore Disappointed With Tiger Woods 11 Sales on Wii
Is this the same EA, who do minimal marketing for their Wii games complaining about subsequent poor sales?
I am sick of major developers not putting the effort in, and then whining about not being appreciated.

@wiilovepeace and just in general.
Why is it so hard?
Re: Metroid: Other M Struggles to Ignite UK Sales Charts
Where's that image of the toddler having a screaming fit for Buffalobob?
Re: Metroid: Other M Struggles to Ignite UK Sales Charts
Thing is though, Metroid is a franchise which is only really known of by people who have some basic grounding of Nintendo's Big Names.
As a Recognisable Icon, Samus comes a poor third to Mario and Link.
Re: Review: Metroid: Other M (Wii)
Might get this when I finally finish Prime Trilogy.
Re: Doctor Who to Land the TARDIS on Wii & DS
Hasn't this been in development since late last year/early this year?
Re: Monster Hunter Tri Soundtrack Rolls Out to Stores and Download
I quite like the idea of getting into the car to go to work to the sound of the opening fanfare.

Re: GoldenEye Gets Golden Pad Bundle
Why would you want to play a FPS with a controller that makes it less intuitive to play?
Re: Link and Ganondorf Combine to Win World Cosplay Championship
I can't help but think that winning the World Cosplay Title is a bit like winning a medal in the Special Olympics.
Yes, you've won a medal, but you're still a cripple.
Re: Get Creative with EA's Creatively-Named Game "Create"
You can colour me officially 'intrigued'.
Assuming that the wii version isn't a horribly broken cut-down that is.

Re: Poképark Wii Coasts into Europe on 9th July
Well, this doesn't sound like a lazy cash-in AT ALL.
Re: Latest Jett Rocket Video Gives Us a Frosty Reception
More than a hint of Jak and Daxter/Ratchet and Clank about this.
Not that that's a bad thing.
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th June 2010 (Europe)
Hmmmmmm.....I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy Legends on the Game Boy, I might get this if I can rustle up the points.
Re: Street Fighter II Designer Bringing Earth Seekers to Wii
I really hope the game's graphical style apes the concept art, couple that with some decent controls and inventive gameplay and this could be a winner.
Re: Pokemon Returns to European Wiis in July with PokePark: Pikachu's Adventure
Well, this doesn't sound like it'll be a lazy cash-in on a popular franchise AT ALL.
Re: Australia, Only You Can Own this Awesome Travis Touchdown T-Shirt
Interesting use of the word 'awesome' in the headline here.

I'll pass.

Never mind all this bleating about rhythm games.

Re: Transformers: War for Cybertron Deemed Too Aggressive for Wii
Doesn't matter what it's called, if it's like the last two Transformers games it'll still be rubbish.
Re: Rune Factory: Frontier
Early impressions of this is that it's delightful with potential to be even more life destroying than Animal Crossing.
