WHY HAVEN'T THEY RELEASED A 15 YEAR OLD GAME THAT ONLY I CARE ABOUT!!!??!!111 ITS ALMOST LIKE THERE'S A FINITE SUPPLY OF GOOD QUALITY OLD GAMES THAT PEOPLE ARE LIKELY TO BUY.
I reckon if you gave it a bit of story and some puzzles this could be right up there with God Of War in the 'violent third-person adventure' stakes, as it is, the first game seems like a bit of a missed opportunity
This whole comments thread is possibly the most hilarious display of fanboy whining I have ever seen 'STOP TELLING ME THAT MY NEEDLESS CONSUMER ELECTRONICS ARE WASTEFUL!'
What I don't get is when did 'mature' equal ' a bit of swearing and blood'.
If you ask ME, the cutesy Little King Story with it's themes revolving around war, ethnic cleansing and classical soundtrack are a lot more 'mature' than the likes of DS:E or HotD.
I think that a number of factors can be blamed for the sales failure of these three games.
1. NO marketing. At all. Can anyone remember seeing any of these games advertised outside of the gaming media? Thought not. 2. Lightgun shooters are pretty niche at the best time, throw in an 18/M certificate and the potential need for an additional peripheral and you're limiting your audience further. 3. Madworld is very stylised looking. Personally I think it looks fantastic, but this potentially limits your appeal. 4. Repetitive gameplay. all three games to an extent suffer from this, Madworld the most.
At P D4nger, what are your other reasons for not buying the next nintendo console, given that its specs, control and release day games lineup are yet to be anounced?
As a great man once said 'people who give up their liberty for more security deserve neither'..
That said, take a book, look out the window, have a lovely sleep, TALK to your family, the time will still pas if you can't play Pokemon for a few hours.
Without wishing to come across as a spokesman for Telltale studios, the lag and sound really aren't THAT bad, I'd still rate the game as 7 for it's longevity, but the Monkey Island charm and fun is still all there.
If you really want to see a game afflicted with poor graphics and lag post-coversion-to-a-technically-inferior-system you lot should look at the PS2 version of 'Deus Ex'....
I hope the puzzles are a touch harder as I ambled through the last game.
Enjoyed it thoroughly mind. If the sound and framerate are anything are like the last game then it'll be FINE. A lot of people seem to be getting a VERY SERIOUS INDEED about this issue, which is occasionally noticeably, intermittently irritating when it is noticable but by no means game-breaking.
Slightly disappointed but not surprised by the length. Seemed a LOT easier than previous Monkey Island games but this may just be because it's early days in the story so far.
Graphics occasionally a bit jagged and laggy but it's not game-breaking by any means, despite what some of the more dramatic reviews on here would have you believe.
Delightfully scripted and voiced with (mostly)logical puzzles.
I'd quibble with the rating slightly given that I finished it in a day so 7/10 for me.

Re: Fishie Fishie Is Getting Ready to Splash Out on WiiWare
I have no idea what is going on in that video.
Re: Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon Gets The NES Treatment
I've made a 'Dark Side Of The Moon' T-shirt for Animal Crossing.
Re: New Jett Rocket Shots Blast Off
Looks very reminscent of the Ratchet and Clank games, which is no bad thing.
Re: Review: Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon (Wii)
I might hang on to see this come down in price and then invest I reckon.
Re: Review: Tornado Outbreak (Wii)
Why do publishers do this?
Throw games out there with no fanfare AT ALL and then whine about original games not selling?
Re: Nintendo Download 22nd March 2010 (North America)
Only 1 WW?
NINTENDO IS CLEARLY TRYING TO KILL THE WIIWARE SERVICE.
I AM GOING TO WRITE A STIFF LETTER ABOUT THIS.
Re: Cave Story to Cost 1200 Wii Points
The amount of Drama this has generated is amusing me greatly.
Re: Cave Story to Cost 1200 Wii Points
An extra £1.50?
I'm OUT.
Re: Review: Rage of the Gladiator (WiiWare)
This looks better value for money than Punch Out I have to say.
Re: Order Your Limited Edition Monster Hunter 3
Hmm...some relflection and some googling reveals that I could get all the kit in this box for around 50 quid if I shop around a bit.
Hmmmm.
Re: Order Your Limited Edition Monster Hunter 3
I'm adding this link and I'm coming right back on payday this looks ACE. It'll make a great birthday present for myself.
Re: First Impressions: Cave Story
Are the controls better than the rather fiddly keubpard controls for the PC/mac version?
I tried dl-ing this and found it unplayable due to finicky controls.
Re: Gods vs Humans Strikes WiiWare
I'm adding this to my 'one to keep an eye on' file, RIGHT NOW.
Re: First Impressions: Sin and Punishment 2
Yeah but it's a Japanese rail shooter and therefore Hardcord, Inventive, Mature and Inventive, as opposed to Western rail shooters...
Re: Trailer: Sin and Punishment 2 + Screenshots
Oh man, it's Space Harrier for the 21st century!
Re: First Impressions: Sin and Punishment 2
Looks like a jazzed-up Space Harrier.
Re: Sony: Publishers Pulling Resources From Wii Development
Isn't it pretty well documented that the wii is much cheaper to develop for than the HD consoles?
Makes sense to me then to allocate your resources accordingly.
tin hat
Re: Gaming from the Heart
If we're going off-console I'd like to add Ico and Shadow Of The Collosus.
The story telling is incredibly strong and moving despite it's minimal nature.

strops off
Re: Sega Wheels Out Sonic All-Stars Racing Pack
That's a quite staggeringly unattractive peripheral.
Re: Max & the Magic Marker Coming to Europe January 22
Note for anyone going to the demo page - you may need to install a new media player to actually play it.
Seems like a delightful little game though, if the demo's anything to go by.
Re: Max & the Magic Marker Coming to Europe January 22
Ooooh, might have to get this.

Why not just GO TO THE PUB?
They have crisps and beer and women there.

Re: Monster Hunter Tri Eats Your Spare Time in April
Big 'WHOOOOSH!' for Prosody there.
Re: Wii Getting Attacked By Movies In 3D
I rather suspect that this will turn out to be a particularly uninspired on-rails shooter that sells by virtue of its gimmick.

Re: Monster Hunter 3 Made Just For You
2010 is shaping up to pretty tasty, Monster Hunter, Rune Factory, SMG2, Cave Story...
Re: Dragon's Lair DSiWare Trailer Released
I'm willing to bet that this is as pretty, but unplayable as the original.
Re: Rune Factory: Frontier
WANT.
Re: Review: Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 4 (WiiWare)
Easily the best, and toughest one of the series so far, I'd give episodes 1-2 a 7/10 and 3 and 4 8/10.
The lag and clipping really aren't that much of an issue, sure they're there, but in no way game-breaking. Bring on chapter 5!
Re: Nintendo Download: Earthworm Jim 2, Mahjong, Happy Holidays, Foto Face, Karaoke, Magic and Another Notebook (EU)
Meh, where's Monkey Island?
Re: Nintendo Download: Monkey Island, Zoos, 'Copters, Face Stealing and Puzzles! (US)
Note for Egg Meister.
Monkey Island is in FIVE parts...
/edit - ooops, didn't see Sean's post there.
Re: Sony Boss: All Your Sales Are Belong To Us, Nintendo
It's quite handy to have a games console that plays films.
Means you don't have TWO pieces of pricey electronic kit cluttering up your living room with cables, etc.
Re: Review: Pokémon Rumble (WiiWare)
No online play?
That would a been a true deal-clincher.
Re: Review: Need For Speed: NITRO (Wii)
I'm still waiting for someone to resurrect the Burnout franchise, now THAT truly kicked sand in the face of nearly all arcade racers.

Re: Call of Duty Comparison Shots Don't Do The Wii Any Favours
Still nowhere near as bad as the PC/PS2 conversion of Deus Ex
Re: Reggie Trash-Talks the PSPgo
"I'll tell you what's in it for you, Reggie - increased cost and the prospect of having a huge pile of PSP UMD discs that you can no longer play."
So noting like the DSi with it's lack of GBA cartridge slot and fifty quid price hike on the DS lite then?
Re: Nintendo Download: Rygar, Solomon's Key, Spaceball and Solitaire (EU)
No Monkey Island?!
