To be honest, I'm absolutely amazed this game was remade at all, but I'm so glad it did.
I loved the original on the Saturn and I love this version, although I have to admit nostalgia plays a big part for me. The short game length never bothered me back in 1995 and it doesn't bother me now, as it plays more like a traditional arcade game, which I love. The original was always a kind of glorified tech demo, as it was one of the first original Saturn games to show off what it could do.
I couldn't recommend it to newcomers though, it really is only for fans of the original. It's also a bit pricey at £22.49, I think £14.99 would more acceptable. It's a shame it doesn't include the original Saturn version, or at least the PC version, as an unlockable as well.
Apparently the developers are working on a patch to fix a couple of the issues mentioned in the review, so maybe worth picking up once these have been rolled out for those who haven't purchased it yet.
I broke a Quick Shot II joystick for my ZX Spectrum 48K because of this game. I absolutely love it, a definite day one purchase for me. Also, this brings back happy memories of watching First Class on BBC 1 in the late 1980's.
If you have a Nintendo Online account then why on earth are you not allowed the ability to purchase these damn controllers? Even limit them to 2 per customer, rather than 4, if stock is an issue. I purchased one just after midday on Monday but I was told my payment was unsuccessful, I checked my bank account and I've been charged 3 times! I received no confIrmation email, so it looks like I won't get one. I've been told that I will receive my money back within 14 business days, but the whole situation regarding these controllers is an utter shambles!
I went to purchase one just after 12pm, and as I checked out it said my payment couldn’t be completed. I checked my bank account and I’ve been charged 3 times and I’ve had no confirmation email, it’s an absolute utter shambles!
I don't know about the rest of Europe or the USA, but here in the UK the SNES mini is sold out at all retailers other than auction sites and 3rd party sellers on Amazon. Hopefully this is an indication, along with that SNES controller rumour, that SNES games are on the way soon.
Its' been one of my favourite arcade games since I played the hydraulic sit down version at an arcade in Skegness when visiting my Gran in early 1986. It may seem simplistic now, and nostalgia may slightly cloud my judgement, but I still absolutely love this game 34 years on.
I loved this game when I played it back in early 1999, but I remember the multiplayer was terrible compared to Goldeneye, so no loss for me. £15.79 is a bit steep though.
I'm more than happy to be Welcomed to the Fantasy Zone for the umpteenth time... Get Ready! In my top 10 favourite Arcade games of all time, can't wait be transported back to an Arcade in Skegness in 1986.
I wasn't fussed when I tried the original demo last year, but I had a quick go of the full game last night and i absolutely loved it. There's also 33% off on the eShop making it £33.29. I normally buy physical wherever possible but I'm very tempted by this offer.
£179.99 would be the sweet spot, but I think it will retail at £199.99 in the UK. I love the yellow colour way, but I have absolutely no need for it. Maybe one for the Christmas wish list.
@Anti-Matter Yep, I think even the Steam community were complaining of low audio on PC versions. I haven't played it in a while, but I think there was a patch that improved the stereo sound for the Street Fighter III titles, but I'm not sure about the other games.
@Anti-Matter That's got nothing to do with the speakers on the Switch. Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection has low audio across all platforms, it's a known problem that folks have been complaining about for a while now.
I love the aesthetic of this, but like many others, I was disappointed with the demo. It's still on my radar, but with Astral Chain and Zelda: Link's Awakening out around the same time it's going to take a back seat.

One of the perks of visiting my Gran was frequenting the Arcades at the height of their popularity. I even loved the garish colour clash ZX Spectrum version, such was my love for the game. Definitely buying this, again!

Re: Have DOOM Eternal Envy? Remember DOOM 64's Out On Switch Today For Just £3.99
Fantastic game that often gets overlooked on the N64, and £3.99 is a steal.

Re: Nintendo Switch SNES Controllers Are Now Available To Buy In The UK And Europe
@Chunkboi79 I couldn’t agree more. I used my yellow SN30 pretty much all the time on my play through of Links Awakening and it worked flawlessly.
