Nothing against Ms Summersett, but I think Zelda's voice is the worst part of this game. It's just not what I ever imagined it as being.
Personally I think they should have just left voice acting out of the game all together. The other voices are ok, but the small cutscenes of voice just aren't a significant impact... except for Zelda's, which are a really bad impact.
@cowntsikin Ok, well then in absence of any evidence other than your conspiracy theory. They did it so the gameplay experience would be the same across platforms.
@Paddle1 The problem is, it's too expensive to replace the Wii U. You are paying for a screen and battery that aren't usable as a console. So it doesn't replace anything really.
@Gridatttack Just not practical. A relatively small minority of people that bought a 3DS also bought a New 3DS. The same is true for any mid-generation revamp. Your PS4 Pro and XBox One S will be the same. Look at the Wii U, just the mere perception of it being a mid-generation revamp (because of it's unfortunate name) led it to disaster. If they abandoned the old for the new, they would suffer badly.
@cowntsikin That's not what they told us. Aonuma explicitly said they wanted the game experience between the two consoles to be as close to identical as possible.
@Spiders No, not really. They are closer to a high level language than assembly. Though I guess more accurately, they are the same tools in both. All of the tools in HRM are not exclusive to assembly.
@Vitesse No, it's really not. A device detonated in the hold would result in the likely death of all passengers, all the same. Airplanes are incredibly sensitive things, surprisingly they can lose an engine and still fly, but compromise the hull and it's going down.
You can detonate that bomb anywhere you like, it will take the plane down and likely kill everyone aboard.
There is no actual threat of tablets and laptops being used as a bomb, it's security theater.
Boosting my hype? No. It doesn't really seem all that different from the Wii U version. Realistically this is just a republish of splatoon with a few added features, just like MK8D.
It's not enough to justify a Switch if you have a Wii U. Now if you don't have a Wii U, by all means, I'm sure it will be great.
Unfortunately Switch has no real justification to buy for Wii U owners, not yet anyway.
@ProjectCafe Oh my god, you can't stop opening your mouth. Seriously. Independent doesn't mean I support Trump but not supporting Trump doesn't make me left wing either. It's a concept you aren't capable of understanding as a sheep.
By the way, you should check the news once in a while, even as a sheep. The FBI is investigating Trump for his Russian connections, it has nothing to do with crap the democrats are spouting. Seriously, our president is in effect being investigated for treason.
Go on back to the graze man, there is nothing you need to know here.
@ProjectCafe ROFL, you have that a bit backward. Trump's administration is the most manipulative organization ever to have existed. That's how he got elected, of course the Russians helped.
You are a sheep, it's pretty obvious now. Your making attempts to insult based on your perceptions of me being a liberal because I don't agree with your point of view. That's typical party sheep behavior. You can call me a lefty or righty all you want, those types of insults don't work on us independents because we are the only ones that actually think for ourselves.
@ProjectCafe Sorry to say it, but you making incorrect statements again. I never said they were incompetent, quite the opposite. They are quite brilliant at manipulating people, as you have proven here today. The sheeple will follow. Just say "baaa" and pretend your loss of freedom is for security.
@ProjectCafe Those attacks in London had nothing to do with tablets disguised as bombs. The threat of terrorism is real, the TSA (and other countries equivalents) methods for security are not. They are security theater. The truth is, the pre-9/11 flight screenings were perfectly fine. What has stopped terrorism is the increase in air marshals and intelligence agencies seeking out real threats.
Taking off your shoes and being limited to small electronics and small amounts of liquid have done absolutely nothing. It's security theater. All it does is make you feel like you are more secure, but in the process it gives away your freedom.
The ban was not enacted to curb terrorism, it was enacted to give people the illusion that they were doing something to stop terrorism. That illusion makes people feel good and therefore makes them feel as though the current political organization is doing a good job... even if it's really nothing.
@ProjectCafe They did think about it a whole lot more. They thought about how it would help their political careers to make it look like they were protecting us from the big bad terrorists without actually doing anything useful.
Your problem seems to be that you are assuming their actions are motivated by security, when it fact the more likely scenario is they are motivated by politics and money.
Do yourself a favor, google the terms "Security Theater".
@mateq Well I loved it. The subdued but still present music fits the ambiance of this game perfectly. Oh, and Hateno village is probably the best continuous music in the game.
Well if the foam fix is true, it very well could be a manufacturing issue. That foam could have been intended all along and got left out of some controllers. That would certainly make it a manufacturing issue, not a design issue. The real question is if the foam is actually in the controllers that never had the problem in the first place.
@cowntsikin I wouldn't count on it. They removed it on purpose because they wanted both versions of the game to be as near identical in gameplay as possible. The Switch exclusive features aren't in there either.
I'd personally like to see a Breath of the Wild style world for Termina.
Speaking of Breath of the Wild's world, I am sorely disappointed that there is no little landmark somewhere named Grooseland. Seems like a missed opportunity on Nintendo's part.
I don't think we've seen the last of the OOT format. When OOT launched, we still saw several Birds-eye view format Zelda titles. I think we will see all 3 formats in the future. Though maybe not the very next game.
"though it's not an official Nintendo product approval has been given for use of the music"
@ThomasBW84 Comma needed. I had to read that like 3 times : D
I will grab the album if it comes to Amazon Music, but all my MP3's are there and I'd rather not have multiple places to look for them. I still listen to the 25th anniversary CD that came with my Skyward Sword copy. I'd love to have the actual Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild Music.
@nab1 You can get most of the stuff you need without ever killing a guardian. The cores are mostly found in shrines anyway. The fields around Hateno and Akkala (watch out for live ones here) have plenty of gears. I recommend getting the pants first, as the Champions tunic identifies live guardian turrets hiding in wait and also has more armor than any pants, and the Diamond circlet is really easy to get.
@roadrunner343 The Wii U version doesn't have a whole lot of framerate drops. It's very rare actually, but is much more prominent if you play on the Gamepad (probably something with the video streaming). I have seen a few even on TV mode, but overall the experience has been nearly flawless. I'm betting framerate drops aren't any more common than they are on the Switch.
@sonicmeerkat Probably. It's unlikely they will restock. They did the same thing for Twilight Princess on Gamecube. If you are patient you can hold out and see for a while, but digital may be the only option now.
To all you guys saying it's a ridiculous amount, of the 900 you only need about 400 to max out your slots, and really you don't need to do that.
Nintendo wasn't intending for most people to collect all 900. They put in 900 so there would be enough of them for everyone to easily expand without hunting them all down.
@bolt05 Only if they are using the HDMI Alternate Mode for USB-C. One would hope this is the case, in which case a simple cable will work just fine. This is an actual standard of HDMI which would be universal.
However, they could be using some kind of conversion chip in the dock.
I actually don't know, just know there is the possibility. I know the dock does have a few chips in it but that may just be USB chips for creating the USB hub.
@invictus4000 I feel like some people got a bad Wii U gamepad screen and didn't realize it. Mine is incredibly bright and clear. Just as bright as the switch demo units I have seen.
I wouldn't have expected quite that big of a drop off, but lots of things can account for it. I've said it before but we won't really know how well Switch is doing for several months (at least).
It does kind of make sense if you travel a lot. Most hotel rooms have TV's in them, back before the days of tablets when I traveled on business a lot, I would bring along a portable DVD player and hook it into those TV's. This is the same idea, just with a game device instead.
@TheLobster @Kayfios As long as he doesn't sell it with the logo as seen in the picture, they can't. There is a ton of unlicensed Nintendo compatible gear out there. You just can't use their logos.
@BraveSonic Make sure you are in an area where a horse can be normally obtained. It's best to be standing next to a stable. If you are in an area where you can't normally take a horse, she won't appear.
With SSMB Link, It's worth noting that Epona will not appear in areas that a horse can't be at. Instead you will get the chest. I didn't get Epona my first several scans of him because I didn't know about her and I was in areas not fitting for a horse (Great Plateu, Zora's Domain, etc).
@BraveSonic If the game doesn't save after you scan the amiibo, then it doesn't count as being used at all. If that happens, I would just load the last save before you scanned her in. Of course if you didn't register her at all she will come back with the next scan anyway.
@yuwarite Really? Have you asked most women? Because people have different attractions to different things. Besides, personal attraction and considering someone -not a man- due to physical features beyond their control are two very different things, one is bigotry the other is not. The statement is not at all exaggerated, nor is it opinion, it is fact. Now, this may be just a video game character but the truth is, your opinion of what makes a man is still dependent on it.
The fact of the matter is, the Link characters height is just fine. It does not speak to how "cool" he is or make him a "manlet".

@aaronmclaren That puts you in the handheld category, I was specifically referring to console players.

Definitely a great game, of the 3 they ported, I would put it second behind World of Goo.
It's not assembly language though, as a programmer that made me laugh. It's actually a Visual Programming Language (VPL).
